Glad everyone had a great time. Thanks for coming, it was great having you. I had a blast. I am off to work for a week for some much needed rest. I wish I could be here next week when the Miatas come back. You can't run theses roads enough. I would like to thank the many who made this a success. However I am on a tight schedule. A quick thanks to the Miata bunch for joining us. Great people do not just drive Fieros. We should do more joint events/runs.

Sorry we missed you. I will be getting to Houston soon. Keep us posted as to how we can help with your GT. All I know is that I am ready to do it again, GRRR 08. Or is that great, . EDIT

heh heh heh...at first, people were skeptical of such a long cruise and I was trying to keep the miles down. I knew the roads would speak to you. Our cruise was about 140 miles long. There are many more out here.

Well it was a long road home, but I made it. The driver side ft. brake is feeling very weird. I even heard a loud *thump* like a large nut fell off or something. Also anything over 75 gave me a shudder that would rattle out your fillings!!! So I HAD to be a good boy on the way home. I was way too tired to look into it after I got home 3.5hrs later. I am fine.
Oh and thanks paws( Virgina) it was very nice of ya'll to show up! Maybe we can come to one of your shows sometime! look up a fast Fiero if you ever get to Austin
Many thanks to Cliff and "wifey" for the show!!! way better than I would have thought!! now we need to do that again and again!!!
SO.............WHO finally won the po-po award???????????? ------------------

Well, the Indy made it home safe and sound, no worse for the wear, except (sit down OhioIndy if you are reading this) I rolled the odometer over to 63K on the way back home.
The driver of the Indy, however, did not have an enjoyable ride.....however, one wrong turn was made and it actually ended up being a fun road to drive (not near as fun as the Saturday long cruise route...but fun none the less).
THANKS to EVERYONE for making this a fun RRR!!!!

He did so much work and was so anxious about all of this and he did a great job. Way to go baby!
Cindi ( & Cliff!).... I didn't do anything noteworthy. Handed out some ballots to some people I wanted to visit with anyway? Puh-lease... you guys did me the favor by giving me the assignment! Thanks for all the hard work and effort. It made for an excellent weekend and memories to cherish.

I rode my car real hard and put it up wet...and now I'm searching for a new Getrag. I thougbt my hard shifting was sticky cables but it refuses to go into first. I was too tired to mess with it much yesterday but I don't have a good feeling. Still I had a blast and the last shifting my tranny gave me was over a phenominal drive.
It was a good show and the cruise was one of the best that I have ever been on. Want to thank Cliff/Cindi for all the hard work that went into the show and let them know if was very enjoyable. Was good to see all the regulars that come to all the Tx shows and get to talk to them. I dont have anything to report bad about my car during the trip, it ran great the whole time(ODD).

My son and I had a great time. Thanks to Cliff and his wife and everyone else who contributed to this event. Good people, good food and Fieros to drive. What more can you ask for. Congrats to all who won trophies and runners up. Thanks to Scott for the extended drive idea. Thanks to Chris for checking on me when I had to duck out of the cruise to stop for gas. And the Nimitz museum was great. Mike

Sounds like you need another 6-speed to keep (pardon the pun) "Staying Alive" car alive. x 50

Look for a new thread soon on the Galveston Ruckus.... I may recruit someone to drive whatever car I have going at the time. I will be running around like a chicken.

My car was the custom painted black primer/original white notchback with the 3800SC installed on the rear of it. Its car number 18 in the list of pictures above posted by Darkwing.
Well, my car did have a casualty... my rad fan went ka-put. No wonder I was seeing temps over the halfway mark.
Poe or Jazzy... (or anyone really...) have a fan they don't think they're gonna use?
I have a few fan motors that are use if you need one and I can bring it to the meeting. You an get them new for $30 from the pars store so it would proabally make more since to just buy a new one.

Well, if you decide to not do a six speed (I would) I have a 5 speed out of an '86 that was working great before the car got totaled. I would just need to get it down to you or maybe get it to Austin and you could pick it up there? Give me a call.

Great event and really appreciated the extra venues like the classic car place and motorcycle museum. I was sort of ambivalent to linking up with another club for an event but I think it has alot of potential.

This is me again (Cindi) as Cliff is out of town on a rig for the week. I really appreciate all of your thanks but I want to make something clear. I got in on the last few days when Cliff was putting it all together, running errands, tagging T-shirts making lists, phone calls, etc. Cliffw did all of the leg work planning for the event. It's like he had a vision and went as far as he could go with it. I know he wanted it to be a fun filled weekend for you guys, something special and memorable as he really put heart and soul into it. For that reason, I can't take any credit. My contribution was nothing more than any supportive wife would do.
jscott -- I will try and make notes of some things we learned while putting this together before we forget. It really can be simple if you know some things ahead of time. Don't worry -- once you get into it, you will enjoy doing it and it makes you feel good afterwards too. And having it at the coast -- ideas are already coming to mind. You guys and your cars make it fun! As the host, you just get to be the one to point them in the direction.

Brian's car and mine made it back to Oklahoma City without anymore problems. It probably would of been funner to do the cruise route with more than 2 cars but it was still fun.
It seems to only be a braided steel brake line. It is smashed in two spots like it was pinched or something. There is a small gouge in the back of rotor, but nothing bad. I have two getrags( both need rebuilding/put back together. I guess I DON'T know how but tranny is fine, maybe a new clutch soon.....
and together again......

Okay -- (wifey again posting for cliffw) he's trying to get a signal for his laptop out at the rig but for now, you got me.
About the PoPo Award? He says -- there were 7 contacts with law enforcement resulting in 5 verbal warnings and 2 written. The 2 written warnings were given to the Oklahoma guys, Brian and Doug. Not sure how to do this because we only have 1 award but it's pretty cool. Anyone have any ideas?
Also -- for those of you that ordered T-shirts that didn't attend -- I need addresses where to send them to.
More later -- Cindi

Hey Cheever, you notice our old '88 GT was there? That's cool that 2 of my old cars were there. I guess Chelsea didn't want to take the '87 GT out there. Oh well. I hope I can make one of these events next year. If it is in the 3rd weekend of October I shouldn't have any trouble making it next year.

Yeah, someone pointed towards it and said "That 2.8 runs really quick", and when I looked over at it I said "Hey that looks familiar!" I knew it was sold to Amber's (pumpkincarriage's) dad but I didn't know he was going to be there. So I went & checked it out and talked to him. He said it still runs great and he hasn't had any trouble with it (until going home from this event that is). It was really good to see it again and to know it has a good home.
The 84 cleans up pretty good for not being a show car. Stephen & Daniel put a lot of work into giving the transmission some first-aid, plus some other things they did for me, like a metal bracket to keep the gauge pod from shaking. Now it just needs a compressor and a fan motor. Some day I might trade it in to Ed Parks for something with a 4.9 but otherwise I guess I'll keep it. It's too much fun to part with.
Your 87GT isn't fixed yet, but everybody I talked to says it probably just needs an ignition module ($35 from a parts store). I will look into it myself this week if I get time. Chelsea had a football game Friday night (she's a trainer, for the others reading this).
The Ruckus is typically the 1st or 2nd weekend of October. I hope that still works for you.
