Hey everyone!

So I know I have been out of the fiero community forever, but I am back to help out my Dad, and unfortunately ask a lot of favors from this awesome community!

Here is the story... I used to be on here a lot (as you can probably see by my post count) but have been away for almost 3 years now. I had owned a 1987 GT with Dealer done T-Tops. It was a decently rare car, and at the age of 16, I started to customize it. I had gotten way over my head with it (tried to do a custom body, custom dash, custom car basically with no previous fiberglass knowledge) and due to the lack of funds, and life taking many turns, the project got put on the back burner. My Dad had helped out a lot with this car, and it always seemed to be a nice bonding thing between us. When I finally got to the point where I moved out of town, and no longer had any time to work on it, the car basically sat at my parents place, and it is still there today. The car is basically without an interior, and the exterior really just needs paint. However, I had shaved the door handles and started to shave the trim. So at this point, I am looking to revert the exterior back to being a little more stock, and the interior I just need to redo. I have most of the dash parts for the Firebird changeover, but need to do a few things....

So... why a Christmas present for my Dad if this is my car? Well, I know everyone says they have the best Dad, but of course in my eyes, I do. I had got myself into financial trouble when I was 18, and ruined my credit. Because of this, I was unable to get a vehicle for so long. When I moved, I needed a vehicle to get a real nice job. My Dad gave his only car (95 Dodge Avenger) to me to use as a trade in on my new car. Granted, my Dad does not really need a vehicle, but still, because of the sentimental aspect of the Fiero, and the fact that he gave his car for me, I would love nothing more than to fix up the Fiero and get him his own car for Christmas... a car that he would love to drive!!

So, I have already been getting a lot of parts locally and off of Ebay. I am in Calgary Alberta Canada, and he is in Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada with the car. My other brother is compiling a list in the net few days of parts we need, and I am calling on any Fiero member who is willing to help me out. If you have one of these parts kicking around, please let me buy it from you.

I know this sort of sounds like asking for charity but it isnt, I am not looking for free parts (although I will not say no if you are offering ) , just would really appreciate anyones help in tracking down some good deals on the parts I need. If I get everything I need through the Fiero store, I could probably by 3 used Fiero's as part cars for that price

The main thing I need, if anyone local is looking at this, is 2 new doors. The ones I have on there are gutted right now.

So anyways... below is the list that I need so far, it will be updated through out the next week....

2 new doors
(or 2 new interior door panels, 2 new lock mechanisms, 2 new handle (interior and exterior) mechanisms)

Center Console (custom or factory in the grey)

Plastic rivets to hold on drivers and passenger side running board

The molding (smooth for the GT's not the ribbed) to go around the entire car

The clips that hold the molding onto the panels

Can anyone give me information on any replacement t-top parts I know I know... it is ridiculously expensive. I can make a lot of the trims myself if I have to, but I am just looking at some info on replacing them for now.
- P Seals
- Drip edges
- Latch covers
- The back metal piece that goes behind the ttops on the outside of the vehicle
- The map light cover for t-tops

Gas door cover with black plastic trim, latch and spring complete

Sounds like a great project for a great dad by a very grateful son. I applaude your effort. I can't really afford to give up or sell any parts (I need all I've got and more.). Inaddition, in that your restoration car is a GT, that by itself is a limitation for things that have the moldings. All my cars are notchbacks. Regardless, here's a bump for you in your quest to restore the car. Wishing you the best of luck.

know of an 87 coupe that is sitting in a junk yard in bowden....the place is called den's repair.# is 403-224-3766....
the owners name is tony and they are opened mon-fri from 9-6 and sat from 9-4...you might be able to score the doors you need off of that coupe and the molding too...tony is really resonably priced ...bring some tools and pull off what you need...
oh instead of the plastic rivets for your lower ground effects just use some tie wraps they work way easier...and for the tops along the door sills just grab some of the little push in pins you can get at UAP/NAPA off of the auto interior display....hope that helps...tim

I'm right in the middle of Calgary and Saskatoon (Medicine Hat). There is a guy in town that has a fenced yard full of Fieros (you can see it if you know where too look from the #1 highway coming into Redcliff), he buys any one he can find and does somtimes sell parts. I personally have never talked to him but i heard he even visited the Fiero plant when it was in operation. A friend of mine knows his son so if you want i can find out way more info if you want. Also a girl i worked with has 2 sitting in his yard, 1 runner and 1 for parts. If your cutting through "the Hat" let me know if you want to meet up.

Wow!! Thanks guys!! Between the posts here, and the numerous PM's I have already got a lot of parts... what is listed in the first post is not even half of what I needed...

I am still making a parts list, and my brother is slowly finding parts out at my parents place without letting on to my Dad what we are doing.

So far I have a line on a firebird dash, gauges, and everything to do the changeover... a gas door complete with hinges and everything, complete parts cars in my area... Thanks guys!!!!

So I should have a completed list in the next little bit, if I haven't responded to you, sorry, I appreciate the help, and will definitely contact you, I just want to know a little more about what I need before I do

Thanks again!!
