Orief + SBC + 4 speed. Oh, oh. I see my title as fastest one with a manual crumbleing here in the near future. Way to go, man. Happy to see you doing so well.

Soulcrusher,I'm running about 420 horsepower at the engine and about 370 at the wheels and it d oes take sticky tires and a converter.I just made some more imrovements and should have another 30 to 40 hp.Now I have to get everything to work together. I'll find out at Cordova dragway on the 19th.I'm shooting for the low 11's.Oreif, great times, good to see a SBC V8 doing good and showing what you can do other than just Tina. Are you coming to Cordova? It'l be a great time and I might be able to give you some tips.Don

Nice run Orief! How were the track conditions when you made that run?
Killer 60'
High 70's/Low 80's with average humidity (it was in the evening.)

Tina, Not to worry. I'm happy with the present set-up and prefer road course racing over drag racing, I probably won't be dragging much in the future. I went with a bunch of friends from a local hot rod club.

Not worried. More like lonely. Sure could use another manual, to put some rumors to rest.
Don, good luck in Cordova. Do me a favor though ... just don't leave any part #'s behind on the track.

Tina,I think I got all the part#s glued in real good. But you never know when you're pushing it to the limit. And I have to get everything working together,,just because you get more power doesn't mean you'll go faster.Ask Fiero-X he knows.Hope to see you next weekend.Don

Well, they are close, but not so close. He has a bigger intercooler, smaller pulley, OBD II DHP program, lighter car and now a bigger Throttlebody. So there are differences. I can't get this OBD I system where I like it, still too rich. Darth is doing his best to fix it. He takes fuel out, but it doesn't seem to help.

Way to go! I'm sorry I missed it, but the rear bearings were completed last night (with help from our newest Chesapeake Fiero Club member). Now I am only about 700 miles from breaking-in this clutch. I should be able to make my first run at the beginning of next season!
Damn, Earl...only 1/1000 away from 11 second territory. Woohoo!! I predict an 11+ run next time, regardless of outside temps!
Oreif, did you start in second gear for your take offs at the drag strip, or did you use first. I've just heard 1st is very short with that kind of power, and have heard of others getting faster times with a second gear pull. Thanks
Here is pics of the time slip...as required by the list.
Its was a great nite for racing. With a lil more tuining and better launch I should be in the 11's before the year is over. Hope to see more Fieros there at the track soon, sax!
I have a in car video of this run i hope to have it on here as soon as i can find a host.

No, I used 1st gear. The 4-spd first gear is slightly longer than the first gear of the getrag.
lildevil ~ Excellent time! Congrats.

Hey lil Devil,Much better, were you using the tires you got from me,tell me how they stuck for you.Just today I went to the strip and turned my best times by a little bit because it got too hot outside,79 degrees. But I did turn an 11.628 in the 1/4 mile with a 1.539 60 foot time.I'll post the slip tomorrow.I also did an 11.662 twice and an11.664.Just a little more tunning and colder temps and I know i'll be in the low 11's.Don

What TB did LD end up going with, the Stage one from ZZP? I saw his post on Club Gp but it never gave an update. I put together an LS1 Tb kit for my motor and it turned out pretty cheap, like 250.00 or so.

Here's my time slip from Byron Dragway 10/1/05. Didn't quite catch FieroX but getting closer. If the weather had been better and with a little more tuning, I should be able to get a couple tenths yet. This thing is really hard to read but my 60' time was 1.539, 1/4 mi 11.628, 114.05 mph.

First running on the stock engine so i will give my best just wanted to get a base before i started with the modding on this rascal don't feel like scanning the time slip since it isn't like a 10 second time so i will just type it
ready to be put on the list and have some stuff to do to the engine and will probably get back to the track in the next month is weather doesn't get crappy and start snowing and the track is still open.
Thanks SAX for posting the video...I owe you. And Don i was using the radials i gotfrom you and was able to get high 1.6's for 60 foot times but no wheel stands...yet When you launch your car is it off idle or are you power braking? I power brake it to 2000 rpm (all the brakes can hold) And punch it. I am wondering if off Idle would be better?

Lil Devil,I power brake to about 3000 rpm,I run a stall converter.Power braking will get you better times. Nice video,I didn't like the sound of the 1st to 2nd shift though,it sounded very slow.Do you have a good shift kit in it and did DHP set up your transaxle preasures? That shift alone cost you a good tenth of a second. You will get the 11's though just the way you are,a little better hole shot or just cooler weather.Way to go.Don

I thought the 1-2 shift sounded slow myself, I know the sound because my trans had issues and was doing the same thing. After a trans oil/filter change, it is back to shifting normal and pulling harder. Just got another motor/trans to build up to hopefully get close to the top of the 1/4 mile list. I havent even taken my current setup to the track being the weather here is 90 plus even at night.
Ok i will continue with the power braking. the tranny is totally stock 4t65E HD with stock convertor. the 1-2 shift is pretty firm during regular driving but i too have noticed the long 1-2 shift at WOT. maybe manual shifting will help. I jus changed the fluid and filter 2 weeks ago so i don't think its a issue. DHP reprogramed the shift points but i didn't tell them to change the pressures so I doubt they did.

Earl, Put in a shift kit, it will firm up the shifts.
If the brakes won't hold past 2000, use the ebrake. I had the same problem. I now use the ebrake and foot brake. Pull up on hand brake, hard on foot brake, gas to 2500+ rpm, then drop ebrake and foot brake at same time, and launch.
I also ran at the Byron, IL Dragstrip last Saturday. Please post my info and times: 13.44 @ 98 mph NB (SC 3800 II, 4T65E HD auto, Comp Roller Rockers, 3.4 Pulley) Thanks.

you can see that he was going faster than you by the 1/8 mile - he was just behind due to a slower start (guessing it was a FWD car?) and he passed you int he last few hundred feet - looks like he still lost due to reaction time
