if you want to add mine, its a 87GT 3.4L pushrod v6 5 speed, no specific mods, ported manifolds if you want to put that, it ran a 15.9 at the norwalk raceway on tripontiac nationals weekend, that was with a horrible start time, 2.4 second 60 foot
my best 60ft to date is 2.03, i feel i could have ran a 15.5 with a better start.

I am using a 3800sc with many mods and a 4-speed muncie. The ET is high relative to the MPH because I was leaving the line like a chump, trying not to break an axle. Oh yeah. Of course its 1/8 mile.

The good news is that I am undefeated at the track. The first 2 times for this rookie was a 13.34 @ 96.81 (1.984 0-60ft) defeating a Monte Carlo that had a 13.883 @ 102.52 (Headlight door scared me and let off the gas, heh). My second (and last) run defeated a souped up WRX that went 14.18. The WRX had a great R/T of .087 to my .830... It was fun passing him.
First Run vs. Monte Carlo
Last Run vs. WRX
Time to try the 3" pulley, start tuning and learning to launch!
PS - I met Dan (PFF name too), and he helped me get a helmet for my second run. A very cool guy, and thanks!

14.7 3.4 DOHC 2.1 60' stock motor, auto chip, full tank of gas and a passenger with 2" exhaust
------------------ REMEMBER: If you cant win the race you loose the argument!!
3.4 DOHC Motor Swap-14.7 in the 1/4 mile with no hook-up, crumby exhaust and automatic chip. Better exhaust, chip, cam retarding, and driver to come... I'm feeling lucky! www.geocities.com/j_depies

It was probly at a track. They let passangers at my local track. My second race was against a 305 camaro with slicks and his g/f They were giggling at me. I then beat him by about 3.5 seconds. He tried a ricer flyby to the ticket counter thing. But I was having non of it
Its an ego thing.

ok it is not a stock 2.8, i do have the 3.65 muncey and I put the 14" wheels on for the track the 60' time was 2.057
here are the specs: Forged TRW Pistons 9.01:1, Molly rings, Clevite bearings, ARP Head studs & rod bolts, performance 0.039" head gaskets, Comp 1.6:1 roller tip rockers, Comp 130 lb valve springs, custom grind cam .484 ex and .468 int. with 110 seperation if I remember correctly, Comp Magnum lifters, I cleaned up the heads, intake and exhaust manifolds, gasket matched everything, new timing set,MSD Digital 6 ignition box, MSD Blaster coil, MSD 8.5mm spiral wires, Heads decked .020" and block head surface resurfaced (maybe 0.003' off), shaved and realigned lower intake plenum to match, block was bored 0.040' over, crank was machined and oil galleries champfered (block as well).
As far as fuel delivery goes I think I have that covered, I am using the corvette fuel pump and the 17lb/hr injectors from the Rustang.
here is what the time slip said, unfortunatly the scanner couldn't pick it up:
Hey LOW, 75-80 a nice track or what?( insert sarcasm) Thats a great time! Did you have any traction issues? Now that I have a working car too, you should come down to MIR for the World Cup finals(street car only event) on November 7th. See if WETPOOP whats to come too!

No traction issuses at all. I did a burn out to heat up the tires. Wetpoop was having alot of problems with the 3.4. The track was very busy, we got there at 6 and left at 12 and only got 5 runs in. I need to find a less busy track.. maybe capital or masondixon, next on the list.

Went to race in Medicine Hat last night. Car ran the best is has in a year and a half. I have finally got the tune to a point where I am confident in the cars ability to run hard and consistant, without cooking pistons. Previous best time was 12.481 at 108.23.
All runs on 91 octane, non-intercooled on 245/60R14 Cooper Cobra G/T tires. XP cam, ported heads, LS1 MAF, Ported L67 TB, Ported stock Manifolds, 3" exhaust. 4T60E tranny with 3.69 Gears.
First 3 runs 10 lbs boost 3.0", 18 degrees ignition advance, hot lapped 3 runs in 22 minutes. First Run Second run Third run 60 1.859 1.912 1.723 Rolled into throttle 330 5.239 5.240 5.039 1/8 8.058 8.035 7.835 MPH 86.87 87.55 87.55 990 10.443 10.404 10.206 1/4 12.584 12.535 12.335 New best time MPH 108.70 109.49 109.49
Added 2 degrees more ignition timing for 20 degrees throughout run. 10 lbs boost
60 1.751 330 5.020 1/8 7.788 New best 1/8 MPH 88.24 990 10.135 1/4 12.243 New best time MPH 110.57 New best MPH
Installed 2.8" pulley, to run 12 lbs of boost
60 1.708 New best 60' for street tires 330 5.005 1/8 7.783 New best 1/8 MPH 88.06 990 10.137 1/4 12.251 MPH 110.29 Probably would have been faster, but I did not allow enough cool down time between the last 2 runs and the car spun going into 2nd gear.
I am sure I could have hit 11's with the slicks last night, but I did not have them with me. Launch was very traction limited, I had to roll into the throttle where as normally I power brake to 2000 RPM come off the brake and hammer the gas.

How does everyone get their time slips to scan so well?? I can not get mine to scan clear for anything, It is wrinkled from being in my pocket all night at track and they gave me the yellow copy. Next time I am making sure I get the white copy. I have several whereI ran 7.6's but only 1 run was 7.59 , what do i need to do to get on 1/4mile list?? being there are only 1/8th mile tracks here.

Took my 87 SE (notchback) with the 3.4 DOHC / 5-speed swap to the track today. Unfortuneately on my first run I broke a tranny mount when I launched at 3000 rpm, but I did stay in the gas to finish out the 1/4 with an impressive 14.156 et @ 97.7 mph.
Bone stock 3.4L DOHC crate motor, K&N filter, flowmaster muffler, and 5-speed getrag, using the 1991-93 3.4 TDC computer (16149396) with my custom chip.
Car number 0204.
------------------ power corrupts. absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Yeah, my 85 2m6 went to the track today too along with Darth and I am a little disappointed but then again I broke a motor mount too and only had 89octane since we ran out of time to get some boost. I was in the lane next to him, my number is 3800 on that time sheet and though I was able to get down to a 14.5sec today I was really hoping for something more like a 14.2. I guess I shouldn't get too bummed since my car is a plain old naturally aspirated 3800 seriesII with a chip but I am getting better at driving at the track and I think next year with some new mounts it should get a better number.

Those are awesome times for basically stock motors Darth and Adjuster! Adjuster, I was lucky to get a 14.8@92mph out of my NA3800 Series II in cold weather. So you have nothing to be ashamed of! Get some practice and you should get some low 14's. then start modding it because there is alot of stuff out there now for the NA3800!

Got a new PB- 12.64. Inching closer each run to a 12.20, which is my goal. Got another chip on the way and LILdevil stubbled upon something that gave him a whopping 5 mph in trap speed after doing the mod! He got a 114mph trap speed tonite. If he didn't spin so bad, sure he woulda had a 11. Hopefully i will see the same results with a similar mod.
