I'm leaving for Daytona 1 week from Mon.

I start my new job tomorrow, and get to tell my new supervisor on my first day that the following week I'm on vacation. Can you say awkward?
(same company, just got promoted to a new position and will be reporting to a new department, but the vacation was put in months ago)

Here's hoping he doesn't go apeshiat and tell me I can't take my vacation. *fingers crossed*

Unhappy change in plans

I double checked on the status of the luau dinner place today and found out that the new management for the luau place will not be able to get it open prior to 1 April.

Instead of just dropping Saturday night altogether I have been able to scrounge up a steak house to get together at. The Port Orange Steak House http://portorangesteakhouse.com/

We're not gonna make it this year.... The Coupe is out of commission with a bearing knock, and we're replacing the engine. It won't be road ready in time for the show. We'd come without a Fiero, but we've spent our money on engine parts.

Crap.. I found out a bad rear wheel bearing Just ordered it. Should be fine by next week. Don't know why I always have some last minute crisis for Daytona...

i dont know why i have last minute problems before EVERY SINGLE Fiero show...

if Betty makes it this will be the FIRST Fiero show i have ever brought my OWN Fiero too.... (and ive been to like 10..)

I feel your pain. It's very doubtful my Fiero will be able to make the trip as well. More a problem with no time to work on it than anything else.

Does anyone know if they allow golf carts inside the track, (infield) on Saturday?
I have room inside the trailer for our golf cart along with my Fiero and will bring it if we can use it.

Can you believe that the new wheel bearing that the Fiero Store sent me has more play than the one I took out?? Damn I'm pissed... Every year is something. Still hope to make in in time to have a good time there.

What's this? A countdown? Is there something going on this weekend?

Looks like the Fiero's not going to make the trip this year. It still needs the starter replaced and I want to replace the front calipers and rear pads before taking it on a long trip. I thought I had plently of time last month, but work has just sucked up almost all of my free time.

Still looking forward to the show and seeing everyone, though, even if I will be Fiero-less.
