Here's one for Jimmy so he will stop being mad at me!
OK Randye....you redeemed yourself LOL This pic alone made the trip special. Can you email me the pic full size please? Me, Gary and Joe wandered around the swap meet Sunday till about 2:00 I think.
Don't worry about it Randy, we got some good pics at Hooters that mourning. I pulled into Bob Evans and got yelled at by Jimmy because Hooters was next door. (LOL) . My bad, Jimmy had the better eye.
Joe
LMAO Lets set the scenario a little... Your in Daytona with your Fiero without your better half. You have 2 Guy friends in a Fiero with you who are better halfless too. Your hungry. You drive down the street to find somewhere to eat. Your following your friend (GODFATHER) and he pulls into "Bob Evans" when there is a "Hooters" right next door! Duh! What were you thinking? LOL And to think I shared a room with you!

It sounds like the Daytona show has dropped a bit in attendance, but I'm sure a good time was had by all.
The economy and high priced gas probably had a lot to do with it.
I did my part to stimulate the Florida economy, I've been there twice in the past month including a week at Disney World. Not to mention the money I need to send the Jacksonville PD. I expectd a Thank you card from your Governor.
53 is a respectable showing of Fieros, not comparable to Carlisle, where up to 100 Fieros might show up, but better than most car shows with Fieros. One would be lucky to have a dozen Fieros in the average car show that has them. I'm willing to bet that the best part of a show at Daytona has to be the Florida weather and the location of the actual show. In Carlisle it's a crap shoot. It could be sunny, raining or snowing and the temperatures can vary from near freezing to hot and humid. It's a pain to prepare for such variations in weather, not to mention the long drive it takes for me to get there. Once I'm in Florida, these type of events will be a lot closer to go to, plus I get to use my car year round. I can't wait.

That's fine by me. My car isn't very photogenic right now.
BTW, whose car is the black one with the ghost flames? I kept checking to see if the owner would come back to the car, so I could tell him the car looks awesome. But nobody ever did.

That is the problem. This show used to get over 100 Fieros every year until the judging stopped. I guess that for whatever reason seems many like the competition or the challenge to have the chance win somthing or have recognition for their efforts. If judging is what will bring back 100+ Fieros then I'm all for it even if I care less any longer for winning anything. But that is not my decision and it takes a lot of effort from Frank and a lot of volunteers. On the other hand yes we have higher fuel prices (my trip alone was near $90 in fuel only and I live kind of close), maybe some are preparing to attend the 25th and spend the $$ in that trip, etc. Still was nice to see a full lot of Fieros even if I didn't have too much time to be by my car or look closer to some nice mods. There is so much to see/buy there that one day is way too short
If Archie had made it this year I would have made more of an effort, its all his fault. I have a bad intestine infection that flared up Friday and Saturday so I wasn't going to try and go just to be in pain all day. I think gas prices above anything else was the reason the car count was down. Most people are only going to one show a year now so it cuts down on the numbers.

I think the lack of judging and the drop from over a 100 Fieros is a coincidence. People were griping pretty hard about the judging and I enjoyed the show a lot more as a show n shine.
I think $3.40 a gallon gasoline has more to do with it. Combined with most people have circled the 25th on their calendar and are saving for that.
I would have made the trip this year were it not for the fact that 1) I just spent a week in central Florida one week earlier, 2) I'm saving up for the 25th, and 3) I don't have a running Fiero to bring to the show.
