Looks like I dumped the clutch and wasted a lot of rubber and clutch - the first part of the burnout is missing! But it was tons of fun - Thanks Clem!
Last year I did that at the gate where you pay by request from the guys that where collecting the entrance fee money. I pleased them and when I got to the next gate the track guards told me one more of that and I would be kicked of the show. So it is not a good idea to follow your role model. At least not before you are ready to leave
That is the problem. This show used to get over 100 Fieros every year until the judging stopped. I guess that for whatever reason seems many like the competition or the challenge to have the chance win somthing or have recognition for their efforts. If judging is what will bring back 100+ Fieros then I'm all for it even if I care less any longer for winning anything. But that is not my decision and it takes a lot of effort from Frank and a lot of volunteers.
Alex is right in one matter. To be able to have a judged show you need judges, and we would need many volunteers. Anyone out there willing to spend almost a whole day looking at Fieros.

The chance to spend all day looking at fieros?? Count me in. Guess since I am in favor of having a judged show I would be willing to be a judge.
Several new ideas floating around D8, but this one stood out from the crowd. The idea of using a digital picture frame to display your car's build-up. Nice job (I could be wrong, but it looks like a digital picture frame). Btw, I saw one on sale on QVC or HSN last night using a slim card. Out with the old and in with the new. Forget those bulky displays!

Randy, your Fiero looks beautiful. Great things come to those who can wait! :-)
Too bad we couldn't be there this time!
Thank You Kolja!
Perhaps next year you and Lyen will return. You know you always have a place to stay before or after the show if you wish. I obviously didn't make it to Dusseldorf this past November, but I will be in Germany this summer and certainly again next November.
Maybe more beer and good food at Himmel & Ahd if they will allow me back in

As everyone out there who has worked a judged car show will tell you, it is a LOT of work. We did these shows at Daytona for 10 years or so always trying to make them better for the people who came. Those of us that participateed in the judging (and Frank as the show manager) all worked our butts off all day on the show day every time. Every year we got tons of complaints and were virtually treated like doing the show was our day job. We had no time to actually walk around and enjoy the cars - judging them is not the same as looking and talking and enjoying the company of other Fiero friends. Few of the complainers ever volunteered to help out with any show - they just wanted to enjoy the show. We even tried voting one year and had a problem with a group of folks stuffing the ballot box. And of course, if you do a show, you have to have the awards presentation (and usually we did a banquet) and the same group of us worked that too - we hardly had time to talk to our spouses at dinner - again never enough volunteers, but always enough critics. The new format (show and shine) that Space Coast Fieros has adopted allows all of us to visit with all of you and enjoy the weekend - and we get no complaints later on. I don't know if Frank and Space Coast Fieros will ever do another judged show or not, but I for one have enjoyed the break and the opportunity to enjoy all the great Fieros that show up. And since we aren't doing it to make money, it really doesn't matter if 10 or 100 Fiero friends show up, we still ahve a fun weekend. I know I certainly enjoyed last weekend and hope everyone else that was there did too. The overall show was a little smaller this year, but the Barrett-Jackson auction was going on in Palm Beach at the same time, Sebring was the previous weekend, and gas prices are way up. So in all I thought we had a really good turnout. And judged show or not, we'll be back next year. Hope to see you all there.

The current "format" at Daytona is just fine as far as I'm concerned. Between the very laid back atmosphere, the side trips, the go-karts, dinner and the chance to just have FUN, I fail to see why anyone would subject themselves to abuse by judging cars all day and catching what seems to be the inevitable crap for doing so. I can't express my gratitude enough for Frank & Co. for doing all that you do to setup this event every year even without judging. I will keep coming back as long as there is a Fiero gathering at Daytona.
We probably won't bring the whole "crew" again as we did this year and I would be remiss if I didn't apolgize for the little "disruption" at dinner on Saturday evening. For those that were nearby, and witnessed this unfotunate incident I humbly apologize and can only excuse it by saying it was the result of one member of our family having spent too much time time on the beach that day and having too much to drink. I want to say Thank You to those that were witness to this brief but embarassing incident and were so polite as to not have uttered a word to us about it. I assure you my wife and I were deeply embarassed, and it will not happen again.

It sounds like it was a good show, so don't worry about it

Check QVC or HSN for digital picture frame. The cost was 2-payments for $29 bucks or so.

Just make sure you don't get the cheapest Chinese one out there...I bought one at Christmas time from a store that I won't name, (but it rhymes with Wall Marht) and it lasted for a minute before it broke and I had to take it back.

I couldn't attend Daytona this year but, last year I loved the no judging format.
Last year, with the no judging format, I was able to have extended visits with several of my friends who in prior shows were just too busy to take the time to visit.
This format is so much better.

Hmm I missed these tail lights @ D8. They look really good! I'm suprised Norm didn't advertise these.
