Saturday, February 23rd I'm having my first annual F.I.E.R.O. (Freezing In Every Random Orifice) winter meet. Come out, eat in and join the fun, but dress warm! Who says Fieros aren't winter cars?
This is going to be at Arundel Mills mall in somewhat centralized Hanover, MD (roughly between D.C. and Baltimore), starting at 12pm. After a few hours of hanging out, taking pics and doing various other things that freezing frenzied Fiero lovers love to do, we'll head in to Dave & Busters ( http://www.daveandbusters.com/ ) to eat and to play or whatever! Stay as late as you'd like! Bring your significant others, they can hang out with us or go in to shop if the idea of freezing Fiero freaks doesn't follow their fortune's fancy! (Sorry, I had to. ) Credit for the location goes to lildevil, thanks much lildevil!
Directions are easy... From I-95 you'll take exit 43A (MD-100 east toward Glen Burnie) and go 3.9 miles, then take exit 10A (Arundel Mills Blvd.), the mall will be on your right and you can't miss it. We will meet in the parking lot marked by the big red arrow in the last picture, which is right behind the movie theater. The mall's address is: 7000 Arundel Mills Cir Hanover, MD 21076
So far all of these fanciful Fiero and non-Fiero owners alike will potentially be there (everyone's welcome): . . . You don't want to miss it! Sign up in this thread now before it's too late! (Kidding, you can show up anyway, but I would like to have an idea of how many people will attend). I hope to see you there!

If I can find someone to watch my Kids Count me in. I will start trying to find a sitter NOW!
And like Sax I will have a camera at the ready. It is so rare for me to be able to get away, I will really be excited to look forward to meeting some more of the Fiero Faithful.
I already met Saxman ( though it will be nice to see you again ), would really like to meet others with this odd passion of ours.

Sounds like a good idea! Does anyone have a lift at their place - I need to do a couple of tweaks that will be a lot easier if the car is on a lift - so if you do I heartily nominate you to host this meeting!

I updated the "list", let me know if or how it needs to be changed for your particular situation.
I don't have a lift unfortunately, but I do have a big (for the city) open backyard. I was thinking that a good food place with a large parking lot would do the trick, preferably one that would require twisty roads to get to! I've only been here for 14 months so others may know the greater area better than me. I'd prefer it to be somewhat outside of crazy city traffic for sure. Thoughts? If there aren't any, I'll find a place and make it stick. If someone with a lift has room for a few freezing Fiero freaks, I'm cool with that too.
12pm+ sounds like a good time to meet up, we could hang out until dark (5:30pm?) followed by a yummy dinner. Group pics are a must.

Steven I would attend but will be out off town that weekend, if you have another weekend count me and my son in as we could do that and maybe bring all three fieros.

An hour away max for everyone would be awesome, but I don't know exactly where everyone is. Honestly I think somewhere right around here (northeast corner of the capitol beltway) would be decently centralized. I'd like a somewhat secluded location but I have a decent proposal otherwise.
I haven't checked with them yet, but I think the 94th Aero Squadron restaurant here in College Park would be an awesome place to meet. We've eaten there once and it had great food and atmosphere. It's located right next to the College Park Airport runway so you can watch planes take off and land if any are flying. They also have various airplanes on display out front, it'd make for good pics. They have provisions for medium to large parties. Directions and menus are located on their website. http://www.the94thaerosquad...llegePark/index.html
The only potential drawback is that they're usually very busy from what I hear, and parking may be close to full. However, they're closed from 3pm-4pm on Saturdays so most of the place should be fully clear at least by then. We may not have a problem at all. Right before that time would be perfect to take a short drive (a mile or so) over to Lake Artemesia to take group car pics, if the "access road" really is accessible to cars (the trails around the lake aren't for motor vehicles, dernit). I'll head over there to check it out for sure. Once plenty of pics are taken (and some high from atop my truck cab) we'll head back over to the restaurant to hang out and wait for them to open for dinner, then we'll head in and chow down. You have to try the "Beer Cheese Soup" (despite how it sounds, hehe. We don't even like beer but we loved it!). Sound good?
I'll be contacting the restaurant soon to make sure this is all okay with them, but it doesn't seem like they'll mind.
I think it sucks that no matter how hard one can try, a date or location won't ever be perfect for everybody. That being said, I would consider another date (+ - 1wk) if it would work for more people, but this one seems to be okay for most, weather permitting of course. If it doesn't, I'll bump it by a week or two. amflyer, I'd love to see all three of your Fieros, especially my old one again. If you end up being able to make it let us know!

Being from the Eastern shore, no matter where the final destination is, I will be driving some distance, looks like it will be 2 hours or more for me. Lucky I like to drive (especially in my Fiero). Just let me know where, I will put it in my GPS and Roll!
Cool man. So far it sounds like you'll be driving the furthest. Anyone care to beat him? We'll have a contest Well, if Tom can make it I think he's the winner so far. That's quite a hike to anywhere around here!

I headed out there today, and it seems that public cars aren't allowed on the access road, it's purely a hike or bike lake. BOO! We want pics of us AND our cars! So there goes that idea. On the brighter side, I found a little public park area right around the corner from the 94th Aero Squadron that we could have the meet at until food time, it looks like it'll be much less crowded during these months than the restaurant. If everyone's okay with that then that's the updated plan.
Saxman, do you have anywhere down there that kicks my idea in the behind? I'm still wide open to other suggestions.

Definitely a bad select cable. Doh! The only work I wanted to put into this car involves tearing into it for parts for the '88. Ah well. I guess I'll use the '88's still free-moving cable for Deathtrap, then buy Rodney's new replacement for that one. It shouldn't take me more than a month, really!

I haven't thought about what there is down here. I was hoping that Lildevil would have a suggestion. I sent him an email, so let's see what he has to say.
That's the weekend before Daytona. Anyone from around here going besides bmwguru and anonymity? I'm working on it. I also have some 88 parts to pick up while I'm down there...
Same here. I don't think I will have the new cradle and rebuilt engine back in the Formula in time - and I can't find the damn tail lights for the Fino! Winter Fiero-ing has not been good to me...
I'll have to be satisfied driving the Mach 1 -

Awesome, so we're going to have a Chevy truck, a Mustang, and probably something like a '99 Camry and an '92 Ford Fiesta at our Fiero meet, huh? That's cool. I'd love it if everyone could bring their Fieros but we all understand if you can't for some valid reason. Yeah. We understand. That's it.
Saxman - Still no. If you can't find the Fino taillights within a month then you don't have them I'd think, heh. If you know you have them, then start looking! I need to see that thing up close!
Jncomutt - That isn't nice. Play nice. He can come as long as he promises not to drool on any Fieros from envy.

I told myself I wouldn't miss the next meet, and I'm not gonna back out now. Count me in. If someone wants to drive down to the shore I have another Fiero we might be able to commandeer.

I guess it should be called a PFF member-meet. Not a Fiero gathering!
The people make these cars fun, so it should be a good time.

Saxman's wife won't make it unless it is in the evening and local. That babysitter thing...
This would be a good time to mention the Fiero parts you are looking for. If anyone has extras like me, they can sell/trade/give them.
I need a bright red hood! (Rusty offered a different color hood to me, but I haven't made it up there to get it yet. I plan to if I don't get a red one in the meantime)

I have a set of side scoops (Archie's if i remember correctly) as well as a nice condition gray GT wheel. If there is interest I can bring them with me... I think I can fit them in the car. If I have to I'll bring the Blazer.

If I we get the turbo mods done to my 86GT (changing it around to use our latest headers) and also get all the mods done (and paint the car) to our 87GT we'll try hard to make it also.
Sorry if I'm slow to respond, I've been getting ready lately to start classes a real school tonight for the first time since 1999.

Great idea! I also have various parts I don't need, I can bring them. Have you heard anything from Lildevil?
I checked out another local "lake" (big pond) that a co-worker tipped me off to, same story as the first, bah. I also looked at Greenbelt Park near my work, it's not far from the restaurant and there's one public picnic area there that's fairly secluded from the city, but it's near the ranger station and I don't want to upset them. Chalk that up as a possibility. I'll keep trying to come up with ideas, but if no one mentions a good central place far away from here then plan on coming to this area.
Francis, I'd love to see the turbo GT! You can come even without a Fiero if you want.
