I know..."FINALLY he makes a showing!" Sorry i haven't been on alot lately jus been so busy doing other things....like WORK! I hate my job. Anyways if the decision isn't final I'd like to throw out Arundal Mills Mall which has a Jillians or it might be Dave and Busters now but it has pool and bowling and games and such the last time I was there. Should be some parks or something in the area but i am not all that familiar with that area. Maybe someone else on here is. I think its centrally located and easier to drive around then college park i think. I would suggest the 'dorf ( which is what us locals call Waldorf by the way) but it wouldn't be fair to those coming from the north. Jus a suggestion...now dicuss amongst yourselves.

There is a lot of parking at Arundal Mills, too...

Thanks for chiming in. The decision isn't final at all, I've been asking if anyone has a better idea. It's still almost a month away.
That sounds good to me, I've been to Arundel Mills once, it's easy to get to for sure (Google Maps agrees) and they do have ample parking. I checked earlier today and Dave & Buster's seems to be lacking crabcakes, though! I haven't been there but I've been somewhat wanting to go.
Pics will have to happen without a nice backdrop, but that seems hard to come by around here anyway. My co-worker is into photography and takes awesome pictures, he said he may be able to come.
Bring your girlfriends/fiancees/wives, if they get cold and bored early they can go in to get warm and shop!

How's everyone with this location?

I'll plan on being there too! Now the question is, will my Fiero be running by then?

I'd vote for a place in NoVa, but it sounds like most of the people here are from MD. Not sure I will want to bring my '84 that far even if it is running better, but I'll still come join you!

If I'm not working the day you choose, I'll come to Arundel Mills Mall.

On another note, If wikid_one reads this, were you driving a red/silver GT in OC on Coastal Hwy. last Sat. around 8:00?

I'll give it a couple more days for everyone to chime in with yay's/nay's, if there are more of the former than I'll make it final and give everyone specifics.

I have already planned it for Saturday, Feb. 23rd, starting at 12pm. Hope to see you there!

Marc, I've never seen an Indy in real life before, please don't make me beg. Either way it'll be great to have you!

Done.
Now all I need to do is change the ghetto 5 stars/bald tires to the '88's gold honeycombs/new tires and cut out those quarter window "blind spot" scoops and it'll almost be ready to upgrade from "Deathtrap" to just "Fire Hazard".
I REALLY wish I had a nice '88 GT to drive.

I finally found my Fino tail lights hiding on a shelf under the freestanding parts cleaner (hidden behind the Formula)! Man, what a dilhemma. If I start on the Fino tail lights, then the Formula will never get done! What to do - what to do...

Since the Fino has not been on the road longer than 5 minutes for a year now, I don't think I should try it on a fairly long trip like this. It's a tough call. I am heavy into the Formula cradle drop, so I need to keep moving with it. Plus, there is no room in the garage to fit the Fino - and I can't take the cold!

This give me less than a month to get the Formula engine in!

If I could just get some warmer weather, I can coat everything in Por-15 and put it back together.

I wish you were closer - and I had more time. 2 hours in the garage each week isn't much with all the work left to do!

Saxman, I wish I had more time to give you a hand. This college thing is gonna be tough while I'm working full time (to build LRO, or Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, which we're all proud of- I love my job). I have a feeling I won't be on here much at all, either. The meet date is reserved for me, though, no worries there.

I've been told by several people that Arundel Mills is insanely packed on Saturdays and that it'll be hard to find parking for a large group, but I think we might be okay.

Also... bump!

I'll be home on Vacation in Joppa, MD on Feb 16th. Been in Hawaii since Sept 29. I should be able to make it down. I will bring several questions with me for my 86 GT Build. (Mainly where I can have everything installed!)

Done. Although, these tires aren't as new as they looked. :/ Much better than what was on there, however. Deathtrap is looking pretty good with the flat black paint and gold lace wheels (as far as Deathtraps go, anyway... it's a '100 foot' POS).
It still rides like it has only 2mm of suspension travel. Oh wait, it does.

I was able to move the three engines out of the way to get the Fino in the garage. Now, if I can get the tail lights done, she may make the drive. More to come...

It seems that this meet will have multiple purposes for Joey and me. I am selling a bumper to another PFF member and exchanging it at this meet. Enroute to the meet, I am dropping off the rims and tires to a Vortex member in Northern MD. So, if anyone wants a set of nice gray door panels, I just might be able to fit them in the truck....all that just may make me break even on the gas....lol
Unfortunately, with my cargo, we won't be bringing the Fiero.
Dave

just one silver spare hood. Most of my pats car is still up for sale. I've been kinda busy with the VW Fiero to try and part it out. That and the Jetta parts are selling for a lot more money.
If you need any parts, I'll be happy to bring them and send you photos beforehand....of the car parts, Saxman.

The reason why is because I currently work from Norwegian Cruise Lines, been doing this for 2 years now. I work 5 months on, 5 weeks off, between MD and HI. However, I hope to take a break soon to go to school. My Fiero is in great shape, just everything is worn from its age. I wanna replace nearly everything.

Possibly Complete Suspension Replace
A/C & Heater Repair
Interior Refresh with Stereo (Prefer 4th gen. Firebird)
Engine Rebuild or Replace including dumping the A3 for an A4

If any of you guys can help me out when I see you at the meet with nice place to buy / install the above, I will be forever grateful!!

Wow, what a turnout. Too bad it's my wifes' birthday, (she hates riding in my Fiero) and we'll be attending her companies' annual meeting.

I'm on my way to getting the tail lights in the Fino, so we'll see.

Also, a night gig just came up, so I have to be in DC at 7pm. I hope it all works out...

I drove up to Arundel Mills last Sunday, the parking lot is definitely crowded, and that was even on Superbowl Sunday afternoon. However, there seemed to be more than ample parking behind the movie theater which isn't too far away from Dave & Busters. That seems like the best place to meet up. I'm going to try to make it up this Saturday afternoon just to verify that the parking lot won't be stuffed. More to come on that...

My co-worker who takes nice pics with a good camera said he'll be able to make it, and will happily take requests if anyone wants various types of high quality pics of their cars. He'll post them up on his website for everyone to save. Here's his website so you can check out a few of the pics he's taken if you're interested.

SATX, wow. That sounds like a pain. I got out of the Navy partly for reasons relating to that.
I'm sure there will be plenty of people to talk to about recommendations there (people will help on here, too, though it is more efficient to talk in person sometimes). I hope you enjoy this part of your vacation!

USFiero, sucks that you can't make it but the wife's birthday is definitely more important! Maybe next time. Have fun at the meeting.

Dang Saxman, sounds like a tight schedule. Hopefully you can get a few good hours in! The Finiero(?) will make a great showing, I'm sure.

More later...

If the lot is full, we can all park our cars on the round-about just off the highway. That will make for some good pics!

I'm trying to figure out this 1984 tail light wiring for the 10 Fino lights. It looks like the back of my car threw up right now!

It looks like I'm bringing my Mercedes SUV or Joey's Honda SUV. I feel like UPS.
But at least I'll be able to meet some new faces and maybe recognize you MD/VA guys at Carlisle this year.

I'm trying to figure out this 1984 tail light wiring for the 10 Fino lights. It looks like the back of my car threw up right now!

If it came from the back of your car, is it really throw-up?

Hey Dave (bmwguru that is), If there are two of you why don't you drive one SUV and one Fiero?
Either way, I'm glad you guys can make it!

Edit: Hey look 308 posts! Maybe I should celebrate by buying a Ferrari or something.

Oooh, sounds good...as long as I can drive the Fiero (lol). Dave's back can't handle driving 3 hours in the car since his back surgery, so I'll drive while he lays down in the passenger seat....SO we can only take one vehicle. He says he's going to tough it out for Carlisle so we can bring out the V8 and VR6 Fieros.

This is awesome! I was really hoping for a Maryland meet. I've read almost the whole thread, but not all of it. I can't bring my Fiero because she's still on jacks. But I'm really excited. Thanks!
