I hope nobody minds? I cut this, because it seems to be un-neccessary to leave it in the Public domain any more. It WAS a personal decision back then, just as this is. I donīt want to do any more damage than has been done already. I am REALLY sorry I had to do this Andrew. At least you have retrieved an amount of dignity, and I am glad for that. Nick

I really didnīt want to post that. It was personal, between Andrew and myself. I donīt want praise for doing it...I just want to try and shock Andrew into doing the right thing. It isnīt that hard to at least send the badges out...even unpolished. The naiveity some people display nowadays, in thinking they can not be unmasked for even a relatively MINOR transgression, is unbelievable. I am STILL clinging to some forlorn hope that there is a valid reason behind this latest fall from grace, but it is starting to appear that there isnīt one. It is really easy to get scared to even READ anything about yourself, when you have done, or said something wrong...impossible to even click on a thread. Crazy, I know, but it does happen. It is even possible for people to literally shut it out of their mind..pretend it doesnīt exist. Not because they donīt care, but because they feel so over-poweringly guilty.I hope it is the latter, in this case, rather than a cynical couldnīt care less attitude... Nick Edit to add: Never forget..genius is often regarded as bordering on insanity...and few can deny Andrew has incredible talents, for somebody who has never had training in that field...

So, I wonder if he left his supplier holding the bag also? They may have overstocks or over runs available for sale if money is owed. Otherwise, the tooling, typically owned by the buyer might be an asset some one could go after in an attempt to recover losses.
Or maybe Andrew would allow use for some one to take over the tooling, and purchasing, in leiu of going to court. He might be willing to do to keep himself out of jail for parole violation.
For as many of you that check ebay, did you ever notice that Andrew had his Fiero up for sale a while back? I no longer have the link to it, but it was definitely his car.

Posted back in June. Sound familiar? Not saying that you don't have problems (who doesn't) but you can't just up and disappear when you are running a business. Which is more or less what you are doing. You have to step up to plate and do what needs to be done and then maybe once the current orders are satisfied you can step back and tell everyone you need a break for a few days, weeks, months, whatever. Your way of temporarily solving the problem isn't going to do anything but make it worse for everyone involved, including yourself.

I've been avoiding this for some time now but I guess things have gotten to the point where I can start to crawl out from under my rock and try to explain what has been going on with me. This is something that has been building for some time.
Edited to say that there were a number of things that built up over time that I let eat at me and brought me down from things that happened relating to PFF as well as people in my personal life that used me to do things for them yet never thought to think of me for anything other than their personal handy man.
Hardly anyone knows how much of an effort it is for me to come out of my comfort zone and try to interact with the "real world." For the past few months I have really isolated myself. Going to events such as Watkins Glenn and Carlisle where not easy for me, and I struggled with the idea of leaving to do so up until that very last minute when I talked myself into going. The one thing that has kept me in touch with the outside world is my interaction with the members here on PFF. Many of you are probably shaking your heads in disbelief that the things mentioned above could be so terrible that they would affect anyone the way they did me. Well, to that I don't know what to say. For the past few months, every day has been one where I either struggled to get out of bed, or had no energy to do much of anything at all. With the combination of disappointments mentioned above, I felt like the one thing that was keeping me "sane" had become like Lucy in the Charlie Brown comic strip where she pulls the football out just before he goes to kick it. Most all of you must feel that I failed in what I needed to do with the badges or whatever, but the fact that I was able to get through the past few months without sticking my head in a plastic bag filled with helium (yes, I've done some research and this is supposed to be the best way) says more to me than anything. Until you understand what it feels like to spend every day fighting the urge to commit suicide, you don't have the right to judge me. I can still hear the Stimpy comment that I should just do it- if that's your attitude, feel free to try it first.
Did I ignore this and the other thread? Yes. The last thing I wanted was to face or have to explain what I was feeling or going through. The shitty thing about trying to take one day at a time is that after a while, they turn into weeks, then months. As time goes on, you know that things are only getting worse, which makes it even more difficult to face. So, I isolated even more. There were times when I would make a post hoping that it would somehow help but it didn't. Not only did I not know how to kick myself in the ass to get things done, there were many times when the thought of trying to do so was the furthest thing from my mind.
Do I take ownership for all of this? Sure I do. How can I not. The past few days have gotten better for me and I've started to get my energy and ambition back. As much as I take ownership for all of this, I also realize that I can't blame my conscious mind for everything. I've been told that what happens is chemically based. Who knows if it has anything to do with the season or not- I don't know. What I do know is that I've gotten the ball rolling to get things taken care of. Brint has received his refund and will be getting his badges here in the next few days- how ever long it takes to get from here to there as of this mornings mail. I also made it clear in the messages I sent out that I apologized for the inconvenience and would be happy to refund any payments received for the badges- in addition to them keeping what they ordered plus an extra or more (depending on the order- Sourmug got three extra badges sent). Not to give Brint a hard time, but it's too bad he didn't mention that in his post.

Andrew you need and should seek professional help. You seem to have a severe case of seasonal depression. I have seen some people use a sun lamp to help them with this problem. You had a nice item for sale there but you are letting the item control your life. You need to learn what "good enough" is so you won't have so much heartache.

Interesting , Would you know it. They no longer show the badges on there website. Hmmm......
Holy crap. Not really sure what to make of that. I am SURE Andrew would not have contacted the company because we all know that he is busy finishing our badges and that he doesn't have the time to communicate with anyone (except those who are buying from him on eBay). So who could have contacted them? WOW (again).
Andrew - I have said it many times -- you KNOW how to get us to shut up about all of this.

Thanks for looking into this for us, I really do appreciate it.
With that being said, I WANT WHAT I PAID FOR
I dont want that "silver coated" bullshit. No offense, but anything thats "coated" will chip eventually. That and it just sounds "CHEAP".
I just want my damn badges man. The badges I originaly paid for. This guy keeps dickin around the wrong people, I can tell you that much. Pisses me off.
Of course you do but...donīt write anything off in a hurry...where did you read 'coated'? These are SILVER or GOLD plated copper, OR billett aluminum..just the same!!! NOT coated at all!! Anyway, I hope and pray Andrew will come back and post... Nick

Im sorry, coated / plated, same thing in my book. Either way, they have the potential to chip.
I guess the straight billet peices would be ok, but I wouldnt make anything quite yet. You dont want to violate GM's Infringement Policy, there are procedures you must go by.

Just so everyone knows, and this comes from my marine affairs and maritime shipping industry background, the F.O.B. portion of the price posted above means that the manufacturer will deliver the finished badges to the dock in Taiwan, and whoever is the buyer/contractor to have them made is responsible to set up the shipping from Taiwan to the USA, make all insurance arrangements, pay all costs to send, and handle any customs matters both related to receiving and import duties...
The only reason I throw that out there is because some members might not be familiar with the terminology. hope its helpful
Edited to insert a quote to the line of the estimate I was referring to from above

Pretty sure stimpy saved your life the first time around, but when you started to cry wolf he told you to just go ahead and jump....
I didn't "save his life", I fell for his drama. For the newer members who might not have known about andrew's "suicide note" that he posted in Off Topic, and being the survivor of watcinv my brother die after dozens x of "attempts", I was unable to not involve myself. It deeply disturbed me, and it brought up a whole lot of **** . As for Andrews attempt, I do have to hand it to him for planning to survive your suicide. His weapon of choice was some pills and a bottle of peach brandy in a parking lot that he knew an ambulance with emts would be posted at while not on calls. I didn't save his life, he planned the whole show. I was just his dancing bear.

I shall inform the people I approached about making the badges that there is no interest, and cancel any further discussion with them. Nick
We all appreciate you trying to help, but this is andrews battle don't throw yourself under the bus for his f-ups, he owes the forum and needs to finish the all aluminum machined badges he PROMISED. I'd like to buy one, if he can get back on his feet and producing them I know I will as well as others. All that will happen if Andrew draws this out is his reputation will be ruined and he will loose any further business.

Defenately put it to the side, but dont throw it out just yet. Wait until things get cleared up, which at the rate its going, wont be for another couple years.
