since we need to northeast i think it would be better if you and Michael could me me near my house (bowen and pioneer parkway). from I-20 head north to pioneer parkway about 3 miles, take a right (east) at the light there is a McDonalds i can meet you there around 7:30am. anybody in the southwest want to join us is more than welcome.

Didn't get my pre-registration card. I still plan on making it but I have to pick up my daughter at 8:00am in Carrollton. So I may be a little late. I'll see if I can get her earlier if possible.

Kevin, are we going to have a shaded area? I will bring my E-Z-Up 10 X 10 if we think we will need it - let me know. Won't fit in trunk but will fit in front seat (barely).
John, It is not a good idea to bring that big of shade due to the fact that I do not know where we will be located as stated in yesterday's thread. All I am saying John, is its your choice bring it if you may, but do not count on using it.
Saturday's forecast high is 80 deg. F so it looks like at great day for the car show. As far as bringing those big traps it is your choice, maybe its a good idea, but since we do not know where we will be located, I for one do not know if these big traps can be used. Maybe John or anybody else can bring one just in case. My $ 0.02

Just a quick club reminder that for those that would like to participate, we are attending the AER car show this weekend in Dallas. If you don't want to show your car, you can just show up and hang out with your club members and check out the rest of the show. It is well attended, with ususally 300+ cars, and a car museum that is only open to the public during the show.
One of our members, Kevin Acker, works for AER engine rebuilders, and has assured us of our own class. The entry fee goes to support a fine charity, and the hot dog & coke proceeds also. They were very reasonable... Take that Ballpark in Arlington.
Last year we had a lot of fun. Steve Reid took honors in his 3800sc modded t-top '84. Several of us won door prizes. Slick and I failed to win a Foose Mustang... maybe this year, eh Tom?
For those who it is convenient for, we will be meeting at Pappas BBQ at 0800, attempting to arrive at AER at 0830. Registration is from 0800-1100. Last year they ran out of goody bags, so this year we are going to try to get there earlier. Saturday is shaping up to be beautiful... make it if you can!
Also, AER sponsors a Busch car... speaking of which... The NASCAR Race is on Saturday night... and I sure could stand an invite to watch it with someone over at their place or at a sports bar later that evening.

Yup - Saturday night at Richmond. Gotta love it! Mike and I will be heading to home to watch it (I think...as Wendy has requested that we come back since Bryce is having a friend over, and the thought of 2 5-year old girls around the house with only Wendy to watch apparently scares her to death)....but she knows it is "Guy's Day Out" for me and Mike so we may decide to stick around for the race. Now - if there was just some way to make sure that Wild Thing Shrubby won't win the race.....
OK guys a quick update: Sice some of the classes are very large including our FIERO class, the NTMC pres and outdoor activities co-chair will finailize the layout Friday, maybe but Friday afternoon I will know where we will be. Todate there are 15 prepaid fieros, how many of us are coming? Meaning that have not prepaid? John is one, who are the others? I think will will hit 20 total at least! Any comments.

Thanks John. Made contact with James, he will swing by and visit with us sometime before lunch. Glad that he can join us, this show would not be the same without his presence. I also would like to thank everybody for coming out to this car show, look forward in visiting with everyone.

Not to burst your bubble but coming up in June 6/7 there is the Craftsman Truck night races & Indy Open Car races at TMS. Maybe there should be a fiero meeting there? Hmmm......... I for one will try my best to be there!

Ya know, Kevin, there is also all-Fiero events scheduled for June 14 - 15 in San Antonio for the annual Round Up and in October we will have another all-Fiero event in the Galveston Island area (Ruckus). The NTFC Spring Fling will happen again next year, I'm sure, too. A lot of participation and planning goes into these events. Fun-filled weekends for like-minded Fiero owners.
How about trying to support them, maybe? We'll support your favored event this weekend with about 15 - 20 cars, it seems.
I would but there is a very good reason why I do not travel far in a car and I keep that part very private. No more than if you say if you have cancer and put a sign up for everybody to see. Some things just stay private when it comes to your health.
"How about trying to support them, maybe? We'll support your favored event this weekend with about 15 - 20 cars, it seems." "
One last comment then will close this thread. If everybody remembers at the Christmas party and months prior I mentioned that since "we" as a club had a great time last year, why not do it again? All favored and I agreed to be the lead on this for the club, since I work here. This is a club event and nothing to do with my likes or dislikes. I am doing this as a club, for the club, and nothing but the club....
For the record, this will be my last showing of the 88, if the club wants to continue with this event as a yearly thing to do, I have made an example of what steps are needed to be taken so we have this "class", and will be happy to lead the next person on what persons to see (i.e. contacts) since I had to attend several NTMC meetings just to talk with this show chairman and get written permission to get an extra class created. Now that we as a club can get this extra class it will not be any harder next year to continue with this class now that we have shown that we “want” to be here and support the charity.
If there is any further info or developments I will create a new thread. I personally want to thank everybody of the club fmembers for supporting this charity and coming to this event, we can show the metroplex community that our little cars has a major club and it is a very active one at that. Let’s all have fun and swap fiero stories as we sit together as a club.

It now looks like I won't have to work, so I should be there.
I for one want to say thanks to Kevin for setting this up and making it work. Having had to organize events in a previous life I know there is a lot involved. Thanks Kevin
This will probably be the only large function that I'll get to this year. If gas, food, and electricity prices keep going up and my work stagnates any more I won't be able to afford to even make many of the club meetings.

Got my car all shined up and waxed to a mirror shine using a 3 stage setup made by Turtle Wax(great stuff). Going to buff the wheels out later to get them back to show quality and then layer them with a protective coat. Still have to vacum out/wipe down the interior with tire shine and I will be ready to go. Will give it one last wipe down before the show.
Never received the registration card in the mail. However, I have been in the hospital with pneumonia, so I cant participate in the show anyway. I would like to come out to see the Fieros though. What is the address of the AER show in Carrollton, and what is the best time to view, where everyone will be set up?

Well, I won't be making it there tomorrow. Have some issues with the Fiero that I just don't feel so confident in driving it up to Dallas.
Long story short, battery went dead, triple A jumped it, my battery melted thier heavy duty cables, overload/short somewhere...car tried cranking when the jumpers were connected with no key in the ignition. Got the car started, finally. After letting it idle for 30 minutes to charge the battery, turned it off, crossed my fingers and started it again. Whew, she started. Went and got fuel, she started up fine again. But now, new problem, check engine light comes on everytime the AC is turned on.
So, I figured it's best to not risk some major damage and I'll spend tomorrow checking everything over to make sure I didn't mess something up putting it back together.
On a positive note, I completed my interior cleaning and installation of my Mr. Mike's seats. The interior looks so much better now with all of that work done.
Maybe I'll see you all at the upcoming show in San Antonio. I'll definitely by at the RRR in Galveston.
Blake, you can use my entry to win the Foose car. If my entry wins, I'll fly up to pick up the car.

I just wanted to say "Thanks" to everyone who participated and helped make this event possible for us. I really felt bad that I had to leave so quickly after the awards. My wife is working night shifts now and thus the daytime is her sleep time. I told her I would be back by 3:00pm. Since I obviously missed that deadline I had to get back so she could get a little sleep for tonight's shift. I didn't want people to think I was there to get an award and leave. I was worried about the stares I got when I left..
I will say, I was very impressed with the car show and the quality of cars there. I plan on making this an annual event. It was great seeing everyone again and enjoyed talking to all of you. Megan had a blast and wants to come back next year.
