And in addition to that, provides plenty of ...."batteries gone dead, so it won't crank" ....oh wait, someone might wanna jump it...... so... "i checked the oil, and it's not a good idea to run it as is cause the dirt has separated....."

I wonder if he has any documentation/receits, and such. I hope he has legitimately done work to the car, and is just overshooting his hp estimation, and not deliberately trying to manipulate someone.

I disagree, and I know better. I have a 2007 Pontiac G6 as a daily driver, with a naturally aspirated 3.5L V6 engine in it, which has 219HP (almost as much as your larger supercharged engine). The 2008 model G6 with the GXP package has an available 3.6L V6 engine (also naturally aspirated) with 252 horsepower (MORE than your larger, supercharged engine). There are a lot of variables that determine horsepower output, and I spent about $10,000 making sure that those variables were addressed on this particular engine. The engine in this car was built by a professional racing engine builder, and he is quite an expert. Think of it this way: if this were a 350 V8, it would have close to 600 horsepower. There are plenty of 350 V8s running around out there with MUCH more than 600 horsepower. If you ever watched NASCAR Winston Cup racing, you have seen a bunch of them. In fact, it is well-known that without the restrictor plates, those 358 cid engines (5.9L) put out OVER 800 horsepower. As radical as my V6 is, it is still not that radical, so you can see my claim is not as exaggerated as you believe. With all that being brought to light and laid on the table for all to see, I will close by saying I resent the accusation that I am (quote)trying to misslead people and (quote) should be banned from existence. I wish you could have known the joy I once had when driving my Fiero, before I put it in storage. I wish you could have experienced the amazing power this engine made in its heyday. If you had, then this exchange of words would not have taken place. I am sorry I have to sell my car. It is not what I originally intended to do. But it is my sincere hope that someone that can appreciate it for what it is and what it can be will make the effort to restore it and get it running again the way it once did -- and not only that, I hope they get it running better than it did when I had it on the road. I feel better now, and I hope you do too. Thanks for writing!

I don't see what a 350 having 600HP has to do with the fact that you just aren't going to get 300HP out of a stock 2.8l V6. My supercharged 3.8l Grand Prix GTP doesn't get 300HP. And he claims he's sunk over $20K into this car but he let it go to junkyard status? He does all this bragging about the engine and it doesn't run? The car's a load... Wouldn't pay more than $800, less if it's non-CJB T-tops.

Yes, its 300hp, but... 1100CFM?! a 350 at 6000RPMs only pulls in around 600 somethin, lemme do the math here.

(cid x max engine RPM)/3456

for a 2.8, the CFM at 9,000RPM would be...

171x9,000 = 1,539,000

1,539,000/3456 = 445.3125 CFM @ 100% VE

Considering a highly tuned race setup, lets say 110% VE

445.3125 x 1.1 = 489.84375CFM.

a 2.8L N/A will pull in 489.84375 CFM @ 9,000RPM with 110% VE. Ill go do some Dyno2003 stuff and see if I can set it up for a 300hp 2.8L

EDIT: here is my Dyno2003 run, it has some big valves to increase the numbers, but with smaller valves it still flows enough for ~300hp. It can take a lot more tuning to get it right, but this is just a rough estimation. If we could do more work with types of head ports and intake designs im sure the numbers can get higher. But we are stuck with the limitations of this software for guestimations :P

But the guestinations hold true for the "not for street driving" look, because lookat the curve, yo dont start getting into any good power until 3500-4000 RPM, so you would stomp the gas and have to wait for RPMs to rise

Hehe, i just thought of something? How much you wanna bet the engine builder f**ked up, and told him to use heavyweight oil, to make up for the clearance mistakes... And also for running hot, air bubble somewhere... And also for him thinking it makes a lot of power, maybe a 20hp increase from stock? hehe. or the engine builder going "Yep, thats what a 300hp engine feels like"

All joking aside, yes it seems the guy does not know his stuff. now that most of you say 300hp is impossible from a N/A 2.8, I should attempt it whenever I get money again. Just buy a junk 2.8, and build it up, then sell the built engine, after having it engine dynoed.

BUYER BEWARE! Everything he says sounds like BS. Those who think they'll be driving it after an oil change and installing a battery will be sorely disappointed. BUT in spite of all the hype he's doing, he's not asking $8000 for this car with the "wonder engine" claiming it's a hell of a deal because the engine alone is worth that.

$800 for a T-top chassis is fair (unless it a rusted hulk) and makes the car a good candidate for an engine swap, body swap etc. I've seen a cut-off T-top roof sell for more than that. And it's an 88 chassis to boot.

just to let you guys know this car sat outside in the woods near the main airport in charleston for approx 3+ years, not sure 100% how long, but i seen it sitting for 3+ years.

according to the "mechanics" at the shop it was beside (yes the shop was basically in the woods) it was just a moderately modified 2.8L......

the car sat on dirt/gravel, not grass.

well, I'm calling total BS on the engine... I asked him for some engine pics and here's the response I got:

Hello, I don't have any pictures of the engine, but there is not much to see -- it looks nearly identical to a stock engine! Nearly everything that was done to it is not notable from the outward appearance. The MSD coil and MSD ignition wires blend in perfectly since they are also red (similar to how the intake manifold was painted from the factory). The adjustable fuel pressure regulator is tucked away out of sight, and the headers are not that obvious because the engine is transversely mounted (you can't see but one of the manifolds).
I will see what I can do about making a trip to the storage bay and getting more pictures. I have been pondering the car a lot, since so many questions have been coming in, and I want to take this opportunity to add as much information as I can here for the benefit of everyone who reads this.
Most of what you see on the paint is just dust from sitting in storage, but the front hood and rear deck lid have whitish areas on them where the paint is worn down to the primer. GM had trouble with their paint process in the late 1980's, and Pontiac was widely affected. I have seen other cars with this same problem (Fieros and non-Fieros alike). The car will clean up fairly well with a strong detergent and a good scrubbing, but the paint problem still remains; that is why I say it needs repainted.
What a crock!

You forgot one of the O's in the word above

I just bid on it...I think it's worth just about what I bid...not much more.

It'd be a good candidate for an engine swap, interior build, and nice paint. I like the Ttops
