Bubbajoe - this is the best thread going - 25,000 views and counting! Absolutely amazing how everyone on PFF has been pitching in to help you out with ideas and photoshop mock ups. Where abouts are you? I live in Burlington and would love to drop by, say hello, and see your creation. Of course I'd bring Tim Hortons coffee and a few donuts. Keep up the great work!

Was just thinking about ventilation. i see a couple people have mentioned heat wich is what i was contemplating as well. You might be able to put a couple small vents at the rear just above the exhaust. If you made little slits and angled them downward you would never notice them even being there. Also I was wondering if you had in the plans some lift struts for that heavy deck lid. Are you going to use the factory fiero latch to hold the lid down or are you making some custome latches. There is a lot of really nice designs implemented here, keep up the good work. Cant wait to see the final pics.

hub swap so I can install the wheels first of all I removed the brake caliper and rotor to get access to the old hub so it can be removed
with the hub removed I installed the concentric ring for the new seal surface
now that the ring is pressed on I can install the larger corvair hub with the correct bolt circle
with the hub installed the rotor now sits 5/8 of an inch closer to the spindle witch mens my brake adapter must be 1/4 of an inch thick so off to the shed I got to make a new one . With that done I installed the front wheels and they fit perfect and with the larger front bearing less chance of failure
and the wheel is more centered over the rear bearing so less stress on the front bearing.

S10 bearings and pontiac 6000 uprights or I will have the S10 bearing hub remachined to fit the fiero bearing . I have done the S10 6000 swap before and it works ok

So the S10 Bearing and the 6000 bearing are the same except for the flange/bolt pattern? Are the axle splines of the 6000 and the S10 the same? And, I assume, that the S10 bearing is from the front of a 4x4? What years?
This is good stuff. Thanks for sharing,
Roy

the inside diamiter of the upright must be opened up about 20 thou for the bearing to fit and the flange has a round bolt hole that has to be notched to get access to the bolts to tighten them up and the S10 axle end will fit the end of a fiero manual axle

the up right is a direct bolt in with the 115 bolt patern but if you use the S10 4x4 front bearing you need to open up the hole 2 about 20 thou will give the exact sizes when i post the rear swap

here are a few of pics of the shreck (as my wife calls it) with the vette wheels 17X9.5 with 315x35x17 rubber the same width as 275 40 18's
Just a heads up, 275/40-18 and 315/35-17 tires are not the same width.
The first number is the tread width in milimeters, so the 275/40-18 is 275mm wide adn the 315/35-17 is 315mm wide. Also, the 315/37-17 is 1 inch less in diameter than the 275/40-18.
Love this thread, though! Incredible work!!

Will the fit is so close that only a small amount needs to be removed the first ones I did I removed the extra material with sanding brums and it worked fine now I going to se if I can reduce the size of the bearing surface to match the fiero bearing shells If so iI will go that rout

Bubbajoe.. I'm real interested in this because I am using ZR-1 wheels on my 355 kit. I need to change the bolt pattern to 5x4.75. I'm not really all the 'up' on suspension stuff. I did glance at your site and it might as well be in ancient Egyption! haha.. Any hints on parts will be appreciated. Also, if you make and sell any of the adaptor type parts that I will need, please let me know...
