Not much work on the dash itself but still some progress...! Finally I got a response and a quote from a seller of these gauges:
I hope I can order a set within a few days! Trying to line up the parts and ideas for the ventpods mockup....
I am still looking for 2 audi TT vents...hard to find, even around here... Now I've also been looking quite a long time for a nice "recovering" of the reused stock main dash. A molded shiny CF cover would be cool but any shiny dash would reflect too much in the windshield. So I went looking for some other materials and finally got this from a local car upholstery shop today:
I got enough of the black vinyl stuff to play with I wasnt too sure when I got it but it looks like it will match well with the other materials in the end...

That car would be one of the few IMHO that would look good with a quality chop top. Someone please photoshop that for me, cuz it'd look sweet!!!
------------------ 1992 Lumina Z34 5-speed For Sale, modified(high 13s), or stock 14.78 @ 92.68 1992 Lumina Z34 5-speed Stock, takes my butt to work...Sometimes... 3.4L TDC V6, getting built to about 430hp at 8000rpm for a 88GT
Thanks for the effort but pleazz....no choptop for me... In a way I already did a visual chop by making "lower sitting" bodypanels so proportional the upper section has gotten smaller...oh well ...anyway: To me right now my fiero has the right dimensions so I will keep it that way.
I like "original" fastback chops the best....Sharkman's from sweden is a good example!

Looking good! I do have a question. Are you taking molds off the MDF or are you covering it with a filler and painting? And if you are, are you worried about it cracking?
