The pictures look very, very good ! i am sure it probably even looks better in person.
Must be an exciting feeling ?!
Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk - I own page 5 as well!
It is exciting for sure. The car looks mostly black - but then gets that very dark dried blood red tinge to it.
If the scoop did not have that tinny flaw I've benn hopping and skipping all day!
I still have to inspect everything else when they get the car together - They had not painted the underside of the hoods - and said they'd do it.
I'm a patient type of guy, and can give a pretty good "Evil" eye - if I'm not completely happy.
One thing that work in my favour is that I have paid any money yet - and I'm very well know at the City. His wife works in my department and he wants to do the best job he can...

Hey Taz - nice paint job! Love the offset 2 width stripes - you've done some real nice work look forward to seeing her in the spring. I may be looking to get mine painted at the end of next year so I'll be interested in hearing your comments about the shop you used.

Dog gone it! You're paint job looks like liquid glass----excellent job! The stripsr....what's the color? It reminds me of RickAddy's GT with a similar strip combo but was placed to one side.
So, D7 seems to be in you're sights.

Curly, I have reservations at La Quinta Inn for myself and my "partner" for D7 - and boss signed off on vacation - so here I come! Whaaa freeekin whoooo!! =8^)
The paint shop is busy with "money" making bumps and paint (insurance jobs) as winter weather starts to set in up here. In retrospect his quote is probably a little low and I the stripes from one end to next have added some labour. I'm pretty high up the food chain where I work - and he knows a ton of people are just waiting to see this - both online and at work. Will mean a lot of business for him to make me smile. His wife also works in the same department and she's real nice and sure wants to make sure I'm happy! She seems more anxious over this than anyone else. I'm not taking advantage of the situation.
The stripe is a simple thin coat of white pearl paint over the base. I think the painter went with two vey quick swipes of the spray gun from a good distance. Clear coat (three coats I think - two minimum) covers everything.
I expect the paint will ready for my first inspection by the end of this week. I've not been pushing them, but show up every second day to check progress.

I like the painted strips. Very "Ghost-like" IMO and not over the top. Have you picked out any rims for your chopper?
Daddy needs a new pair of shoes first.....
Next on the list is leather seats, visors and door panels (from Mr. Mike). Hopefully just before D7 - if I sell that blasted Harley in the next two weeks.
I'm waiting on Fiero1Fan headlights - and F-I-E-R-O badges. Waiting to hear from both on delivery dates, and waiting for a price on the headlights from Fiero1Fan.
I'm looking over www.hitman.com to see if there are some easy contracts I might take on to be able to afford newer rims and tires - and lambo doors. Just kidding on the hitman part... I think... =8^)
New rims and tires (I have 16"s now - I think) will have to wait until 2008. Won't go to 20" like you guys - but will probably settle for 18"s.
I'm starting to track down someone in Ontario who does dashes - someone at the International Bike SHow this weekend (tried to sell my bike there) told me someone here specialises in dashes for Fieros - will have to track him down. Would love to go with a whole new gauge package and dash.
Will put off doing the lambo style doors until 2008 or later. That is unless supply for reliable doors become available - like the VDC's you have. I've followed that thread - but still don't feel like anyone is ready to go into proper production. I'd only want VDC that were properly tested and guarrantied with a shop that would be willing to stand behind their product with a multi year warranty before I bit that bullet.

I also heard in the news just today that Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears and Cameron Diaz are all looking for new love puppies. Heck I'd do that if they'd pay for the upgrades I want for the TAZ! LOL

Yeah, it would be a crime to not go without new "shoes" on a paint job like that IMO. Do you like the Foose rims? Nice "pop" IMO and are made for the Fiero in 17/18/19 combos. Do you want some "bling" for your dash? Call up the radio bezel guy in Canada and have him engrave the slogan. Archie's making a mold from Troyboy's dash. You'd could later purchase some gauges from Dakota Digital? VDC doors? Franks working on it but some how the Floridian guys are having a hard time getting a Fiero to the shop. It would be nice to have then ready to install while you're in town.

New Shoe's example: Wrong color but...you get the idea. (maybe someone could photo-shop-paint CPU's choptop and blackend the center rims...just for fun?)
Bezel company in Canada. Wrong engine slogan but...you get the idea.

When I said shoes - I meant real shoes!!! The ones I have have holes in the soles! A few newpapers and I should be able to get another 6 months out of them. =8^}
For the dash, I'd want to go with a whole new layout - new backlit gauges etc. I prefer the analog dial gauges to digital - just my own preference. Would also want a red shift indicator at the top of the dash for my trips up the drag strip. I'm just starting the "thought" process - so I'm a long way off yet.
I bet there will be lots of nice rims at D7 for me to view. The TAZ is "understated", although the new paint will change that a little - still don't want anything to be too obvious or way out. Would probably stay with polished or "grey" powdercoated rims instead of chrome. I like the 5 star design of the ROH rims I have - just want more "meat" back there.
As money is very tight I can spend more time dreaming and figurin'....

Thanks for all the positive comments! I dropped by the shop yesterday and they have the bumpers back on and transfered the lines for the stripes to the bumper and the KHines rear lens panel. They should have the bumpers painted today.
The jury is still out on my scoop glass job. Everything looked amazing with my glass job on the scoop until they baked the paint and clear. There is a slight line on one side when you view it up close. I might have to get them to strip the hood and do what they call a "professional job" - but I'll wait until the they say the car "is done"! The shop has spent a ton more time on this job than they wanted to (or that I'm paying for). I suspect if I offer them a few more dollars that they might perk up a little. We'll see.
Sure will be a ton better than running around in body primer - although the flat black battleship (Mad Max) look grew on me over time!
I'm off now to bug'em and hopefully get some more pics to post tomorrow.

Btw, Troyboy found some old CTHC pics while we where at Archie's.
Stopped by on Friday and the bumpers were just curring. I noticed a big blob of clear along the depression in scoop. They say it's a bubble. They might have to redo the hood - for the third time.
Anyway - no need to fret yet. Looks like I'll stop by tomorrow after work to install the reverse lights in the bumpers. Will deal with the hood then.
Sorry - no time for pics....mid next week....

It's been a tad cold and snowy up here this past week. I put in the reverse lamps last Monday and was hoping they'd have completed everything by Friday. Turns out the primer they used was a little agressive and not compatible with the primer I used. Turns out the two blobs were bubbles - right in the lower corner of the scoop. Looks like they need to do the hood for the third time!
They don't work on the weekends - so it'll be by the end of next week.
Glad I'm in no hurry - and I'm sure they are wishing about now that they'd never met me!!

We've had real cold weather and a lot of snow showers. Translation - the body shop is busy doing the bill paying jobs from all the car accidents. They need to do the hood over - 3rd time and might get it done this week. They told me it was done - but I was not happy with the front hood and one other spot on the car.
We've got a week of bitter cold spead with lots of light snow sqwalls. Maybe two weeks. We'll see. I hat driving the car back home with fresh paint in snow and salt roads. I've got about 4 miles to drive it - but would prefer clear roads. I'm trying to get buddies with high intensity lights (to lend me) so I can take some nice photos in the underground - when I do get it home.
I need everyone's patience for a week or two longer.

Thats grrreat! Is Mr. Mike slap'n leather for the chopper?
Depends on how much I pay for paint. I keep telling myself I won't have such a great chance to get the work done right then and there. Color is the only hangup - as he won't do the light tan anymore. Rats and double rats! Has to do with the hide and that the dye is only on the surface. If you scratch the light tan - then it leaves either a very dark line - or very light line - can't remember which.
Mr. Mike sent me samples of the drak tan and dragon. I'll wait until I get the car back home to see what both colors look like and if I think a combo them will work.
It's just like Christmas - only 49 sleeps to go!

Dave, if you do decide to go with Mr Mike's seat covers, make an event out of it too at the car show. Tech session on how to install them. Will save you alot of shipping them up to Toronto, no border fees and sure someone will be curtisy enough if need be to bring them to the show for you.
Plus a bump because I like grump old man too

I had intended to install them at Mr. Mike's in Sarasota. I'm leaving the "Big Smoke" on the Saturday before the D7 show and plan to be in Sarasota on the Monday morning. From there I'd stay overnight - or two - to get the seats done at his shop. Will also be doing the door uppers and lowers and getting new visors. It saves me the shipping duties etc.
I have a line of credit with zero on it now - so should have room for the three pack above! Won't be zero for much longer!
I'd then go to D7 and have my new leather interior ready to show!
That's the plan - anyway.
I saw the paint today and the stripe on the hood isn't perfect - I tiny double line along a very small edge - but it's covered in clear so can't do much except strip the hood and start over. I think I've pushed the shop as far as they'll go. The hood has three coats of color and clear now. They didn't paint the undersides of the hoods and they said they would. I can do this myself later - but it would have been nice for them to do everything they said they would. I can use this as a bargaining chip. I don't think they specialise in this type of work so I'll let it go for now and focus and getting the TAZ back. At least the color I chose is a stock color - easy to match and can get things done by someone else if I like. From more than a foot or two away the stripe looks fine. The rest of the stripes are clean and tight.
Dave
Thanks for the congrats all!

I picked up the Taz yesterday and skooted her home. Save and warm now. I took a few pictures, but license plate flare made them less than good. Two pictures did turn ok OK. I need to get hold of some work floods to get some really good pictures. For now these two will have to do!
Just waiting for the badges to show up - and if Fiero!fan gets his heaadlight kit will do those before D7, but will most likely will have to hold off on the headlights until after D7... Oh well - here are the pics!!!
In the underground you can really see the deep black cherry! If you look at the pictures closely you should pick up the off black color. Some of the funky highlight lines in these pics are the reflections from the clear.
