She 'aint cheap.. lol Well, some people think it is.. $300 for the plug-and-play setup, including whatever brackets you need to mount it and shipping. It uses a servo motor to push / pull the Fiero cable to move the heater door..
I need to get in touch with Rob to see if I can get a console from him. If I can, I am definitely in! That is a great price considering how much work you put into it and how great it looks in the car!
Riceburner, I just kind of glanced over the artical in the kit car forum again. You haven't had any more problems like the one guy had have you? All of them seem to be operating like they should? How do you need to get payment for it?

Unfortunately I've only heard back from one other guy with the 355 panel and AC, but he seems to think it's fine. (The AC part of it) I'm not sure what was going on with DJ's car (he has a NICE F50 replica in Taiwan), but I haven't heard from him about it in months, so I'm guessing it worked out OK? The electronics for the Diablo panel are exactly the same, and the demo unit I sent out to someone with a stock Fiero with working AC worked 100%. I haven't had any problems with any of them on my test setup in my apartment, and it's basically the entire HVAC system I pulled out of a Fiero and plugged into my living room. LOL If only I had the coils connected so I could actually use the AC in here that would be awesome! (95* the other day up here...) For payment, I'm open to Check / MO / Paypal / Cash / small animals... LOL OK, no small animals, but I have considered trading for parts if I can think of any I need. (like if someone can get something that I'd normally have to pay $300 for cheap, then it works out for the both of us) Can't think of much I need though, besides maybe some upgrades for the 3800SC.. That would assume it's running though. But that's another story. I really really need to finish the R&D on the Diablo panels so I can start producing these things more. I've only sent out I think 3 or 4 of the 355 panels, I still have 2 that are 98% done that I need to finish and send out. (one is actually for Amida / Rob, the creator of the awesome interior!) I have a lot of the parts already made, just need to put the darned things together. Just for reference... Here are the 355 and Diablo panels so far: (replica 355 panel on the left, OEM on the right)
On that one picture on the prior page, the one that has your panel on it, any idea how they did that. It looks like they've rearranged the console a little.

Do you mean the ash tray area? The ash tray panel fits into the shifter panel with a few tabs, so the front of the HVAC panel has those same tabs, and it fits where the ash tray did. The rear of the HVAC panel has the peg sticking out of it, that latches into the ash tray panel, which is just slid back under the console further. I hear the actual ash tray metal insert doesn't fit under the cover any more, but that's not too big a deal to modify if needed..
Cool. I thought someone had sliced up that beautiful piece of console and rearranged it. I don't smoke, well, at least only when on fire, so I may turn my ashtray into a cupholder. Tired of driving my Fiero with a very cold and wet drink bottle held between my legs. Makes for an unpleasant trip sometimes. Especially if you hit a bump. lol

Not to knock any of the custom interiors, I think they look great, but have you considered a swap? I think that they can be done for less money than purchasing an aftermarket custom dash. Just a thought.

Rob / Amida, Can the above pictured console be used by itself without using the rest of the F355 dash - will your console meet up OK with the stock fiero radio surround ?
I'll have to find it and get back to you.. Still sorting stuff out at the new place. Need to get the "shop" together... LOL "shop" = 2nd bedroom.. Have to get some wood and cheap carpet over the stuff that's there now so I don't kill the carpet and have to pay for it if I move out. Hopefully this weekend I'll get that sorted out. And get an internet connection tomorrow... I'm mooching a signal now, and can't send email. Anyway... The panel is approximately 3" high by 6" wide, within a few fractions of that I'm pretty sure... Not sure on that Diablo one, it's wider..

Riceburner, how hard would it be to mount the Diablo panel into the space where the stock fiero heater - A/C panel is ? Is the Diablo panel now fully functional and pretty much "plug n play" with the stock fiero wiring ?

By the way, have you ever considered putting together a pushbutton selector for the automatic transmission that would eliminate the shifter altogether ? I'm thinking that it might be possible to use a servo-motor to control movement of the shift cable and something like a power window switch to move the cable to the proper position ( but I don't know anything about servo's )

Those look good. Quick question though. Maybe I missed it but what is displayed on the Diablo controls? I'm not interested in doing a replica dash, but do plan on a 3/S dash swap eventually. Thanks.

The console is designed to fit under the 355 dash. Never tried it with the Fiero dash, but I think the front of the console would have to be cut off since the stereo in the Fiero is directly on top of the tunnel.

Hey Thanks. The black interior was intstalled into a BB512 project. Here are some more recent shots of an interior I covered in tan leather for a 355 spider project. The console is a flat floor version.

Man! I wish I had the $ right now. But me B po. I'll say it again, you do excellent work and if I can get my finances figured out enough, I'm definately going to contact you.

I can build an interior for you guys too. The thing about building an interior from scratch is that it takes a WHOLE lot of time to do. My '88 Formula is stock on the outside, but feels like a whole new car since swapping the interior. I still remember my first drive after the installation, I couldn't believe I was sitting in a Fiero! Here I've been test driving with full gate shifting. It surprisingly works pretty good; action is smooth just as long as the slots have been greased. There's very little side tension when the gate is placed highger on the stick. If only the shifter can be lowered by a couple of inches.
Thanks,

The cover is just a simple piece that sits between the console & firewall. One owner transplanted the hatch from the original Fiero cover to make more storage space. On the flat floor model I believe the plan was to make the cover a seperate piece on the firewall.

O I C. Sorry, didn't recognize the abbreviation. I think the Lamborghini stuff in the earlier posts was from someone who makes the HVAC parts for the 355 interiors. Looks like the real thing and is actually funtional. I think someone started to ask him about another piece he was working on which was for a Lambo interior.

Riceburner98 builds the HVAC controllers. Very nice craftsmanship; like it was factory made. Earlier in this thread he said that he's working on a controller for the Lambos. I'd like to talk to him about modifying his design to fit a 360 application.
