Hi Golden Horseshoe & area Fiero friends & folks,

(to distract you all from all this snow we've had & to dream ahead..... )

I'm looking to put a cruise schedule together in the next month or so, so people can mark the dates on their calendars & to avoid conflicts with long weekends, the 25th anniversary, other local Fiero events (ie.SOFA show/cruises etc).....

This way, we may be able to maximize turn outs too!

The majority of the scheduled cruises will be on Sundays as this seems to be the day of availability for the majority. (but there also may be an odd, urban one or two on a summer Sat. afternoon/evening...keep watching the forum& the calendar of events above!)

If there are any fixed date local events you're aware of, pls et me know so i can note & plan around them; Once announced i can develop & release the tentative schedule for our summer & fall cruises.

i.e. The 25th anniversary, holidays & long weekends have already been noted.

S.O.F.A. show date?
S.O.F.A. cruise date(s)?
Montreal/Ottawa major events?
I know it'll be challenging & we won't be able to please everyone/avoid all conflicts (apologies given well in adavance for that),
but it's worth a shot to do some advance planning for the collective enjoyment of all with these Fiero events...

Refer to the GTA link here for the full jist of it:

http://www.gtfieros.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=546
thanks in advance all & happy diggin-out!

It is looking like 25 May for the first SOFA cruise. We'll be posting info later. The Great Lakes Fiero Show will most likely be on 9 August. No fall plans yet.

Does anyone know if there is an Ottawa area group representative?
If so could someone pls direct him to this thread?

Let's see if we can coordinate & choose the date for the hopefully large summer "Kingston Regatta"...(possible choices are Sun. July 20 or Sun. Aug 24th)...

It doesn't matter what it looks like, as long as it's running & there's no parts falling off it while it's movin! ..heck, bring another GM if the Fiero isn't ready...besides, we still have over a month to go til the 1st one.

Events/dates have also been posted to the PFF calendar at top of main general chat page for further reference.
Individual cruise info will be posted as its' respective date approaches..

stay tuned. (no pun intended)

Had mine out for a little run to the gas station and back the other day. Forgot to tighten wheel nuts. Had to walk home and get some more lug nuts after my left front came off. Oooops. No damage however, not counting my pride of course. Looking forward to the cruizin season. Whats up first?

I finally got my car started, so if I can get all the bugs worked out, I am up for something in May.

I can add any firms dates to the SOFA site.

Tried to start mine 2 weekends ago - wouldn't start, but cranked... slowly - battery was dead and wouldn't take a charge
- guess that's what I get for leaving it outside and for being an older battery too

Hoping to get it up and running for a couple trips out and about this summer.
Need new rubber though...anyone got links on 225/45/16 tires?

*all proposed dates are marked in my calendar, we'll see if I get out

I learned to drive fast 'n furious on PE county roads. Cherry Valley road @ 100+ mph, etc.

Will little county and some great scenery for cruises. I'm a little too far away though.

Lets just say in Prince Edward county you can drive what ever speed you want as long as it is not in Picton or a weekend where the sand banks is open for tourists.
For heavy speeds I like county rd 1 coming out of Consecon have a few times where the speedo went off the end and tried wrapping around which is a little crazy considering my speedo reads to 140 mph.
Don Guy is the guy in Ottawa to contact for getting a group of them together or if you want they come to my place each summer at least once for a barbecue and then off to Shannonville for drah racing in the evening. Could try and make it into a larger GTG of a few clubs as I have lots of room and my drive way is used to being full of Fieros. Dan

THIS IS GREAT!!!!! now i can see ahead of time what days the cruises are and roughly where. I will have to check my schedule as I am working on a film right through till the start of August but I'll try and make it out to as many as possible. Winter was fun in the car, but let's face, corners are much more fun when the roads are dry lol

My Car is running!!!!! Good to go almost....

We used to have a trailer parked at Consecon Resort and went to the Bay of Quinte model jet rallies at Mountainview. It's a beautifull area, and would be a nice drive. Al little far from London though....

yup, these will be the firm dates, rain or shine...

The number of people out will i'm sure be influenced by weather/distance/is the car running or not/other obligations/gas prices/i need to escape etc etc but there should be something for everyone...so don't say you didn't know when!

Keep yourself posted for updated cruise locations/routes for each upcoming date!

So if you've been to Dan's place... does that mean you're a new potential customer?

Hey Nick are these dates firm. If so I'm certainly interested in the the Niagara Parkway run on Sept 7 and it just so happens that I'm in the GTA October 5 and I'd love to run the escarpment again in the falls colours. To any SOFA guys the escarpment cruise is a must. Fantastic driving perfect for a Fiero. We just don't have roads like that here in the flat lands I'm going to have to insist that you come

Dave
