PIP host is down right now, when its back up I can post a couple more pictures of my Norm flipper if you like. I think the scoop is pretty cool and could be done with the stock hood if you wanted it.

Use the Search feature. Lots of members have already posted pictures of custom hoods.
True, but what about the people who recently made a custom hood? I can see for technical questions to direct people to use the search function, but not something like this.. Eventually it will get to the point where we wont even chat anymore, everyone will just use the search function.

ok so guys how do i go about getting these "cobra" scoops.. because the 2nd pic boozie put up just flipping sold me on them.. give me links i demand them.
In order to do a COBRA hood you will need a 04 Cobra mustang hood to cut the scoops out of. This is all explained in the link I included in my original post. Looks like I will be painting mine this weekend. Stay tuned for pics.

The stock spare tire area seal and the lip it rests against on the hood were left in the stock positions, so the spare tire area seals up just like stock. The rest of the front area is water friendly in stock form. Biggest difference is when I wash my car at the car wash, there will be some steam coming up the vent as the radiator dries it self.

If the trunk seal is in tact there is no seal for the radiator or headlights. A little more water comes in from the top into the radio but that is about all. It is a non issue.

Well, I had debated back and forth about whether or not to post this up yet. I decided, "What the heck, why not".
Eveyone has their own tastes as to what they like and me being no different, decided to do something a little different. I really am not fond of the scoops that inset. I guess I just dont want to see the Radiator in there. I love the scoops that start at the front of the hood (by the bumper) and then get taller as they travel up toward the windshield. The only thing that bothers me about those type is that they get kind of tall. I also like to keep the stock look of the Fiero but with a little tweek here and there. I decided to make my own style.
This hood scoop is still in the beginning stages so bear with me.
I started with a junk stock Fiero hood. I cut out the center portion of it right along the part where it dips down in on the sides. I then removed an additional 1" strip from each side to use as a bottom lip. I am designing this hood so it can be a "bolt on" or glassed on. After adding some foam blocks to the top to get the desired height I liked, I laid it on the car.
I wasn't happy with the way it rose off the stock hood. It didn't rise up enough down near the lower portion of the hood. I then added some more foam blocks closer to the bottom portion.
laying it on the hood again, I finally got the look I wanted.
I plan to extend the top portion a little bit so it sits even with the top of the stock hood.
I still have to do all the glass work and then there will be a mold made so I can pull an all fiberglass scoop from it.

Is this design going to be functional? I would think that the area behind the rise would create back pressure, and in turn actually push air into the vent rather then drawing it out. Similar to the relationship between a pickups roof and open bed. Whe you open the rear sliding windows of a pickup air will be forced into the cab not drawn out of the cab. This hood vent will be on a smaller scale but I would think a similar effect would take place. Just a thaught, I am by no means an aeronautical engineer. Could work great for all I know!

(Bridgetown) I think if you crack the side windows that changes direction. I would imagine he will be cutting the hood under the scoop buy the radiator for the same affect.

I sold this car earlier this year and miss it. The hood was cut, layered with the old pieces of fiberglass to fill the deep gaps using 3M's 8115 then I used expantion foam to filled the hollow area incase dirt worked its way on the inside of scoop. Lastly I glued it down with 8115 and sent it out for body work & paint to finish it Rick B

Has anyone found a source for the 2003 Cobra style air extractors? Like the ones SOULCRUSHER has on his car. I haven't had any luck finding a Mustang hood for a reasonable price.

From Ogre's cave Because of Anti Guillotine features, there is a big problem with many modifications to hoods. If a modification makes the hood stiffer, it may fail to break/fold in a wreck and come thru the glass. Even with strong hinges or supplemental anchors like Fiero uses, the hood may just tear away and move straight back. Fortunately many modifications use fiberglass or plastic parts that are not very strong but this is still an issue to watch for when doing custom work.

Here is a link to a REPUTABLE company that makes fiberglass parts for the despised Mustang crowd. They MIGHT be willing to sell a bare or imperfect "heat extractor hood" for a reasonable price. The lift off version is roughly $300 plus shipping, so if they happen to have or are willing to sell just the center section it might only cost $150-$200 plus shipping. https://www.cervinis.com/product.aspx?car=1&id=1139#1158
However, in all honesty it would probably be easier and cheaper to get JimmyS to just make a fiberglass panel that would be a copy of what SoulCrusher made.
I used to own a 2003 Cobra and the hood was very "beefy." It had about a 2" raised center to account for the depressed heat extraction vents. These vents look good on a Fiero and fit the lines very well, but for me when I see the vent openings it makes me want the 03 cobra back in the driveway.
