I for one would vote to move it (if need be), rather than postpone as I know many people have taken off work already. Any ideas where we would move it to?
Let's leave this thread about Ike. I'll make a new one regarding R-7 plans.
Just guessing, but I think at this point, the infrastructure of Galveston might have been injured enough, not to mention that the last thing that our host and LSF/Golden Triangle Fiero's need to worry about is a show in their region. You will have enough on your plate just trying to get utilities back... much less worry about a cruise routes on roads that may not be passable anymore, or hotels that probably won't be ready for guests for months.
We can look forward to Ruckus VIII in Galveston... '09.
Still praying for Don & Jane, I haven't seen any posts from them.. . Jon, glad you and JMichael are OK... Insurance can pay for a fence... If you need a place to stay (like your electricity is out for an extended period and living down there without AC si for the birds...) please consider staying with J&I. I know it's not close to home... but the AC is cold and the room is at the right price !

Don & Jane...Checked in OK, but without power or water, seeking nearest location for same Jonathon Scott (Jscott)...Checked in OK texasfiero fieroreinke josefiero (I think, out of Point Blank) dcfox...Checked in OK, house underwater, including Fiero josef644 ,Joe & Cathy Crawford...checked in OK
Your not talking about me are you? I searched josefiero using the memberlist and nobody turned up by that name so I am assuming you mean me. Either way, I am in FL and quite alright. My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to those who have lost anything in this storm. Please make sure you all walk away with your lives at a very minimum.

I'm okay but the wind driven rain I got in my house coupled with lack of a/c made it uninhabitable. Sounds like David got it far worse, sorry to hear that. My Fieros, (not Proud-1 and Proud-2) took light damage.
Suddenly I have waterfront property...

Glad to hear that you made it thru the storm. Now the second worst part is goin to be dealing with the lack of electircity, water, and dry goods... I hope looters are not out and about yet.
One of the first things I did when I bought a home here in SC (considering we are in a hurricane zone) was to buy a big @ss generator. When Hanna threatend the SC coast, I stocked up on water, gas, nonperisiable food, bought a hotplate for cooking and stocked up on carcoal for the grill. The gen is big enough to power the lights in the house, and a fridge. good luck, and keep in touch... as much as you can considering...

I think there are still a couple that we haven't heard from or confirmed yet:
If anyone has heard from them please help me to update the list we have so far:
UPDATE
Don & Jane...Checked in OK, but without power or water, seeking nearest location for same Jonathon Scott (Jscott)...Checked in OK, power out at last report on 9/14 texasfiero fieroreinke dcfox...Checked in OK, house underwater, including Fiero josef644 ,Joe & Cathy Crawford...checked in OK, without power
I see I didn't make the list but we made it through with no damage. Fiero was locked in a paint booth and survived unharmed. We lost power Friday night at about 12:30 and got it back on Sunday night. Internet just came back this morning.
Jonathan, if you need a place to stay my offer still stands. We have AC, hot water, cold beer and wide screen tv so you can relax some. Just bring your pillow and sleeping bag.

Cathy and I are in Tomball with our niece. She has power, and Ac. The fuel is in a crunch here with very long lines. So we can ac ess the net every few days only. We have to drive to hit access to WIFI. My Fiero is untouched and doing fine. It is down to 1/3 tank of fuel now. I parked and locked it up in the garage before coming to Tomball. We have been viewing the pictures of old Galveston. Cathy was raised there. It is a waste land now. Sorry about David Fox's home and car Joe

I got power back yesterday, but today the internet went down...(posting on phone connection).
Gas lines are insanely long...(I've hoarded some, but it's a finite supply).
Things are gradually getting better, but it will be at least a week before anything approaching normal returns to Houston area...Galveston, maybe never.

When you guys find out more about DCfox let me know, if he plans on saving his fiero, ill help him out with parts in any way i can.
i figure ive got a v6 ECM and a stick shift wiring harness ive been hoarding if thats needed.
he should be able to just drain his gas tank, and refill and that would be fine, i guess just take the doors off the car, and interior out and let it all dry out, the car should be alright even if its been under water for a day or two, im sure his speakers and radio will be junk though, but ill bet its worth saving if he's attached, im sure the house will be a total loss, but we have to look at what we can do to help a member out, Parts are all i can give since im broke, but i hate to hear of the loss that he will have.

Jon... how did NASA fare?... any word there?
I also saw the news about the Bolivar peninsula... total evac, martial law... razing it to the earth... There may not be anything for the ferry to run to in the future... (

"Stuff's gettin' better. Stuff's gettin' better every day." - "Shakespeare", The Postman
Actually I was thinking more, "It's getting better all the time" - Beatles, (or Smashmouth depending on your age).
Mission Control lost part of the roof, and suffered water damage. The International Space Station was/is being controlled from a hotel room in Austin.
NASA is scheduled to open on Monday 9/22. The main reason the city is still paralyzed is that almost 70% of the people don't have power, about 90% of gas stations don't have gas, and 90% of stores are closed. Until the power company makes more progress with the electricity nobody is going anywhere.

Better start working on that fence before the Home Owners Ass. starts leaving you notes about Fiero all over the yard. J/K with you. Glad nothing was damaged that couldnt be replaced.

i think the 4 foot tall grass will hide them well enough no one will notice

That's the plan. Save the county and state a bundle of money. Screw the landowners. It will wind up in court tho--there's some big money on both ends of the ferry route.

Hey Jonathan, how did your neighbors fared? It looks like your house is on a small hill vs. your neighbors. How deep is that lake in the back yard? Any pics of the Indy outside? I called you last night to give some words of encouragement.
I have a relative that lives in Houston too and she's okay. She followed my stearn warning to make sure she had provisions and that she park her car on the third level parking garage away from the views.
I am in Texas City, about 14 miles north of Galveston. I lost 1 shingle and most of my fence. Fiero was in the garage and suffered no damage. Just got back yesterday and got power last night.

I was on the cell with David a few days ago. His family and he were all somewhere safe around Memphis. His house is a waste, but they were all unscathed Joe Crawford

Wonder how close to Little Rock he is? I'm about 25 miles west of there myself--till the electricity comes back on. I understand his Fiero was under water--in his garage? I might be able to help him out with another if he is interested in a project car. Gratis

David had a fine silver GT, in the garage I think, and a GT chaseis outside he was gonna make a race car with. The windshield squirters, and sunroof air dam live on, mounted on my coupe now. I think I have his spare tire retainer rod too. Joe Crawford
Just recieved word that electricity is restored back at my residence. I love my brother, and have enjoyed staying here with him and his wife in Arkansas, but I will be so glad to get back home.

Sorry I missed you call, cell phone service has been spotty at best...at the moment I have DSL so I have to get in my forum fix real quick.
That "lake" formed right after the storm and had about 20 feet of water in it, it's mostly dissipated by now. Maybe I can claim the storm deposited all these broken down Fieros in my back yard? I'm trying to get rid of them.
