This Ruckus went phenomenally well, despite the short time frame from decision to execution. I appreciate Texas and Oklahoma owners for driving in and supporting this proud October tradition.Of Course, I couldn’t have pulled it off without some help from most everybody.
Biggest thanks go to Amber who got the Ruckus packets together, designed the art and got the dash plaques completed, and kept track of ballots, and organized a costume contest that went over hilariously well.
Tim, Tom, and Amber helped in the execution and scoring of the games. They also helped in the brainstorming sessions of what to do, cruise routes not to go on, and finding a hotel.
Joe and Don for their help in finding us a hotel that was Ruckus friendly. Boys… we got a winner for sure. No way we could have found it without there being 2 teams that Sunday.
Chris Renkie who brought snacks and water to the show site, and whole bunch of exploded beer. You’d have gotten the ‘Hard Luck’ award if Bryan Hodges hadn’t broken down South of Dallas!
But Mostly: MANY, Many thanks to ALL the attendees that showed up and make the Ruckus so unique. I’ve never been to car shows like it, and it is one of the reasons I make the Ruckus a yearly priority. All the attendees were kind enough to overpay for the dash plaques which helped cut down costs for the plaques, trophies, and the 2 scouting missions. You guys quite possibly saved a marriage
For the numbers we had: 16 Fiero’s 36 Attendees 3 Hours spent at UFO pizza 108 mph at the dragstrip 2 new PFF’ers 1 Dog, 1 Cat, 1 Lion, 1 Bat, 1 Bee, 1 Witch, 1 Angel, and 1 Bit## (Steven’s name for me in the room)
I'll post the few pics I have and the Po-Po story later!

Well Blake you are definitely going to have to fill in the gaps on this one. But for those waiting on the story here's the video. Sorry about walking in front of the camera.

Okay, most the pictures I took are similar to these. I think I was a little busy having fun I'm going to try to upload a couple videos from the track in a second, Jed stopped recording about 1/3 way down the track so they aren't too long.

Blake is in the distance white shirt. Guy in red plaid was stuffing a gun in his pocket while approaching Blake. I'm not sure what was said due to distance. The youtube video downgrades the video and shrinks it, making it hard to tell that the conversation was heated. Larger version shows it. but in all reality it's a had to be there to know at this time. just before the video I was adjusting the camera so it doesn't show the truck pulling up.

No I actually downloaded the big version, (about 4 minutes on DSL)... still didn't have a clue what I was watching without a soundtrack or narration.
Blake, I don't think this qualifies you for a PoPo award. To qualify you have to actually be pulled over by a member of an actual Police Force, and be an actual Peace Officer, not some nutjob in a pickup truck.

Oh... believe me, he was legit... as legit as Sherrif's Deputies can be. But he didn't like being stood up to by a citizen that knows his rights. I'll type the story out soon, but every time I start, I get mad, and life is just not worth getting mad over sometimes.
Houston County. I believe his exact words were something along the lines of "Never step foot in Houston County again!". Along with other such things as "I mow this grass, that makes it my property!" (That was when Blake said that it was public property).
Heh, and I left because I didn't want to be murdered by some crazy old man with a gun. I considered getting out, I even had my hand on the door handle, but Jed told me to stay in the car. For what it's worth I did yell "Come on Blake". I felt it was too ridiculous to bother fighting, but I felt really bad because Blake had wanted it so much
Well I don't have many pics to put in here. Mainly because they look like the ones everyone else took, so I won't bother with those. I do have some though.
Yes!!! I finally made it to a Ruckus and back and not lose any car parts. I had a good time.

Eh... post 'em up anyway Doug! Glad you got home with both tips intact! Say... what size and brand of rubber are you running in the back...? those tires look good.
Thanks so much to you and Tom, Pam, Gerald, & Merril for coming down. You guys help the tradition. Ruckus wouldn't be the same without you...
Know about the Arbuckle Wilderness Ruckus...

They say it's the best in fall. starts around 600 feet elevation and goes as high as 2,600 feet. 54 miles of pure ridge running. 113 miles charted. Same as an NTFC member used to run on sport bikes all the time.

opposite side of the state from where i like it to be one year. i may have to put dibs on r-12 or after.
I'll be honest, I didn't click on any of those links so geographically I'm not sure what's going on... but I'd like an Oklahoma event to be around Turner Falls

I like this photo because it shows the homemade awards sitting on my spoiler. I wanted to mention who won what and memorialize them in the Ruckus records.
We had no judged format, rather every attendee voted on 3 cars that they liked. It didn't matter about interior/exterior/cleanliness or anything... just if you liked the car, you wrote it down. All attendees, whether they were in a Fiero or not got to vote... even young Kaydance, who liked the purple Chrysler 300 from Oklahoma... and it was funny watching Tom drive that beast through the games!
The top 3 vote getting cars got personalized awards. I took 3 fine specimens of of pine cones from the Sam Rayburn National Forest on one of my scouting runs. And going from largest to smallest, I sprayed the large one gold, the medium one silver, and left the smallest cone in the rough. Mounted those to plaques and engraved the award with the event name. Every Ruckus Trophy also included one of our show dash plaques affixed to the award. ---------- 1st place choice went to Steve, IwannaIRM, for his visionary blue coupe/GT hybrid. Steve, we are all very happy for the smile that car gives you. It has been quite a journey for it.
2nd place choice went to Amber, pumpkincarriage, for her seasonal appropriate black & orange '88 coupe.
3rd place choice went to Mike, for his turbo'd and excellent homebrew chop with glass windows. ---------- For the 'Slow Drag' award, I glued some plastic worms to a plaque, along with a few snails (real) from my yard, and engraved the event on the plaque.
Our winner was Steve, IwannaIRM... who somehow slipped his clutch for 1 minute 3 seconds the width of two standard parking spaces without coming to a stop.
Honorable mention goes to Tim, boostedseries1, who pushed my car without stopping for 1 munute 1 second. ---------- For the 'Closest to the Cone' award, I glued a small cone out of a Hot Wheels set and engraved the event on the plaque.
Amber, pumpkincarriage, backed up closest to the cone, without hitting it... I want to say it was like 4 inches or so...
I believe I was runner up coming in about 7 inches. --------- For the 'Stop on a Dime' award, I glued a shiney dime to the plaque, and engraved the event on it.
Debbie, driving Jim's coupe, stopped exactly on the dime. Dead center of the tire. Incredible.
A very close runner up was Chris Reinke, who also stopped on the dime, but had less of a contact patch on it... so close! -------- For the 'Straw Drop' game, I glued a crazy straw to the plaque and engraved it.
Daniel, green87, laid that sucker right on target from a rolling idle. He precisely accounted for wind direction, velocity, and vehicle drift... and basically got a lucky drop onto my homemade pine cone target.
Tom Slick later obliterated my Louvre worthy work of art with my own car. ------- For the 'Hi/Lo Mileage' award, I cut up a bottle of Mobil 1 with the word 'Mileage' and a picture of an odometer on it... glued it to the plaque and engraved it.
Our winner was a new PFF member with a gorgeous red Formula LS1 from v8 Archie. Chane guessed that his car had the lowest mileage, and that Stu's car had the highest mileage. I want to say his car was about 56k, and Stu's was 213k. Nice call! ------ One last award cannot be overlooked! Young Miss Desiree beat out some very stiff competition in the first ever Ruckus Halloween contest. She dressed as a witch and won a creepy skull head award. Thanks for bringing her Rob. It warmed my heart that she actually wanted to come!... You're rasing her right, amigo! ------
I got my own Po-Po award, I'll get a photo of it... just haven't had time to peck out the story or post my pics... but hopefully I will have time soon.
I am very happy with the rodeo games we played this year. They were staggered so that you got to play them all quickly back to back to back... and still had plenty of time to visit and check out the cars. Thanks again for the deputies that ran their stations. If I got a detail or name wrong... PM me and I will correct the record.
Thanks y'all for playing in our Ruckus Rodeo!

The NTFC posse had a pit stop in Crockett, about 50 miles or so outside of Lufkin. Davy Crockett stopped at this location at the freshwater spring in route to his destiny at the Alamo.
Fiero's at the monument.
And taking an obligatory drink from the same source a coon capped man did.
mmmm, vette brakes...
Mike and Ngeunna at the crest of the 1000 year old Caddoan temple mound.
Our cruise lineup pausing at the Caddoan Mounds Texas Historical Marker.
The rest of my photo's are at the strip... more to come
