There is a current limiting resistor ( it is shown in the factory wiring diagram as a circuit breaker ) inside of the window motor housing. This resistor gets "weak" after years of use and the result is slow window movement or the window will go halfway up / down and stop, but will work again after a few minutes.

This MAY be the fix that Rodney is wanting to test. If it is, you won't believe how good your windows work!

This is not what I am offering. Have never heard of this but it is interesting. What is the down side of removing this resistor I wonder? GM puts it in there for a reason.

I haven't found a down side yet - I have even purposely held the power window button in the up and down positions (thereby applying +12VDC to the window motor after it is stalled) on a few of the ones I fixed, and it didn't seem to affect anything.

Hey guys and gals!

Best of the New Year to you all!!

I'd be interested to hear from any who get Rodney's fix done. My windows are intermittent so I'm in need of the same kind of fix.

If it's something that could be tested on a door that's not on a car, I could test it right away. My unmounted door windows are not pathetically slow, but they're certainly not as fast as my Ford truck windows, and I'm not sure how fast they should be.
