Looks like it's in good hands. The other prototype has no road use restrictions?
No. It's licensed and insured for appraised value, but I've never seen it being driven yet. He's worried about depreciating it's value if he puts any miles on it.
I believe the GT convertible will also be "roadworthy" because he has a Bill of Sale and a VIN. Salvage/rebuilt vehicles that pass provincial (state) inspection and safety certification get insured and licensed all the time. I bought a 2006 van that was a write-off and rebuilt - no problems with getting full insurance and registration/license.

No way Id spend any kind of money on a car I wont drive. I put over 5000 miles on my restored 66 Coronet this year and maybe 3000 on my 'daily driver'. I didnt drive my Corvette much, so it wasnt as much fun....got rid of it. Cars are meant to be driven. If I wanted investment, id buy gold and keep it in the bank vault. JMHO. Id buy pictures to hang on the wall of cars I like but didnt want to drive and save tons of money

Me too. My Fieros are not driven only during the winter months (ice and snow up here). Otherwise, they're driven quite often around town and are always driven to the ot Fiero Club meets and various Show 'n Shines.

I dis-agree. I like to own alot of different cars whether I drive them or not. I like to collect them. My Indy Fiero only gets about 100 miles a yr but I love it more than any other car in my Garage and it would be the last to ever get sold. I get made fun of all the time by my friends that just " don't get the whole Fiero thing" but whatever, I Love my Fiero. My Esprit only gets 1000 miles a yr. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that I don't drive my cars! For the nose bleed section...I DRIVE MY CARS....just "some" more than others. I put bout 15K a yr on the NSX and total I drive about 60-70K a yr.

I think that the more you own, the less miles you put on all of them. Everyone needs a different car for each day of the week! And a beater for running parts....lol.
Ya, I realize if you own many cars some dont get driven much. Ive had as many as 6 at a time myself. Unless we have really unusual crappy weather for a long stretch at a time, nothing I own sits more than a week or two with being driven for a day. This is only like the 3rd weekend since September I didnt take the Coronet out for a 50-75 mile drive just for fun. This weekend has snow and ice on the roads and 0-20* temps so the crap Caravans been doing most of the driving.

More than any other, that's the one I hope we can still see again. Also the one that's most likely to end up being someone from here, considering the past interest? I think the chances are low, though.

I was willing to spend $20k on the IMSA car, but it got just beyond it. My reps there didn't put a bid in but would of if it looked like it wasn't going to get there. Oh well.

While I agree with the above post, I have to say that owning and storing additional cars just for the sake of having them is just plain expensive and somewhat wasteful. I know, I've got six 88 Formulas and one 88 Coupe sitting here. With the exception of two that are in build status, they are all drivable. The problem comes is storing them under roof, keeping batteries charged up, registering, tagging and insuring them all so that you can legally drive them. I'm down to keeping two of my "babies" tagged and insured. The rest just sit there looking lonely. I can store six in the shop I built but, that really isn't very practical because the shop is so full of cars, it's no longer a shop, it's a storage shed. To use the two post lift I installed, I've got to move at least two cars out of the shop. A real pain in the keester. Eventually, I'll figure out which one's I can part with and not have a stroke doing it. Sometimes I think I should sell the 3800SC Formula, sometimes it's the 4.9, then I look at that poor 3.4 five speed car just gathering dust but, all are fun to drive. Maybe I need counseling.

I'm glad we know at least one of these cars is going to a good home. I still wish the convertible was going to MY home though.. if only I wasn't a 20 year old girl in school full time with two part time jobs and three other cars to care for, haha.
On the topic of owning lots of cars.. between my dad and myself we have 8 cars. They all run (most of the time). There's always something wrong with one or more, so it's good to have plenty of them so there's always something to drive... haha.

I know exactly what you mean. It is a PITA, but damn I can't help it, I guess I'm a car "junkie" in need of counseling also. LOL

Since no one was "allowed" to see how the roof works, maybe now we can get some specs and start building the roof structure
I have been trying to figure out how the top folds since the 20th Anniversary Show. If anyone knows him personally, Please, Please talk him into some good photos of the top mechanism. Please! (Do I have to beg any more???? I am willing )
