Man, it's starting to look like we need to find someone who is reliable to do this kind of Fiero modification.
Archie
So when do you start doing them?????????? I want to be your first customer. Archie’s first choptop with his first set of VDC doors. That’s what I’m talking about.

Got a little more info on XS Customs from Sam. Apparently, the shop is moving from the current location due to issues involving the rent. As was mentioned before, there is several little shop on the premise. Four shops total. One of the guy who operates one of the shop is not playing is share of the rent.'
The owner of the shop(s) is evicting Jerry and gave him 9 days to get out. I'm guessing that it's against the law to give someone a 9-day eviction notice due to a FL 30-day notification law currently in place? So Jerry is now moving with the limited time left from the first 30-days from eviction notice?
I'll know more once Shawn calls and may have picks too?

To evict some one here in Florida you have to send them a 3 day notification to pay rent or move then go to file evivtion notice ,after the papers are filed the party will get a copy of the filing to come to court to try to work it out then it is decided when or if you are going to move ,the process takes about 45 days before the sheriff will come and put the things outside .

I just got the "call" from Shawn. He confirms what Sam just told me that the shop is indeed is moving. Shawn saw #15 in the shop but couldn't get a picture due to the load of stuff in the way. The VDC kit is finished but is still sitting on the chair. The dash is also unfinished and isn't mounted to the car yet.
Deadline: Shawn told Jerry that I'm heading out in a week and a 1/2 to pick up my car. Jerry said, "We'll have it done by then." Hmm.? May the "Force be strong with-in me" during the next 1 1/2 weeks. To prepare myself, I’ll be listing some hard gangster rap for the trip. Cypress Hill's "How can I just kill a man" and Dr. Dre's "Dre Day" hehehe.

i went to XS customs twice today. first during my lunch break and it wasn't open. i went back after work and talked with jerry (owns XS). i couldn't get any pictures, which is why i went in the first place.....anyway, curly's car is surrounded by a wall and other cars. i couldn't get any decent shots of it. i did look under the other cars to see the rims.....NICE rims by the way. i'll keep stopping by and hopefully i can get some pictures. i think i'm getting more disappointed about the progress than curly is so....tune in next week for the "rest of the story"

Jerry knows I'm flying out in two weeks to pick-up #15. He put two cars as "get-r-done priorities" (#15 included) before the move. He told me that the dash would be finished before I get there. He will give me a call on the 23rd for pick-up. VDC's are finished but are off the car due to them working of the dash.
New shop: The new shop will be located in Largo FL. Off 66th street (somewhere?)
VDC kits for the Fiero? Yes. Depending on what type, the cost my have gone up? I now have a fully adjustable VDC hinge for a SUV. It's has more adjustable points vs. what's on #11. The differences are in vertical and swing open movement. It's not that it’s really needed but I got it anyway do to future work.
VDC powered? The newer VDC kits will allow for a similar set-up like the Saleen S7 doors. By using the "newer" style VDC hinges one can bump-up to a better kit. The "newer" style will be a "at home project" or a "in-house mod" using the newer style.
Cost & when the auto door kit available? I don't know the cost but he says it will be available some time this year.
Conclusion: IMO, I'll be paying close attention to this "new" style VDC kit. More than likely, it will be on some darn rappers Chevy Caprice before I see it on a Fiero. I’ll hopefully have Shawn on the case during this time, hehehe.
edit: wrong date

Jerry knows that several Fiero owners want the kit for their cars. He said he would offer a "group" deal. The only problem I see is using the newer style VDC kit. Somebody would need to leave their car at the shop as a mock-up. I'm taking off once I arrive and I don't think Jerry has enough time to copy it. The older style seen on #11 has a jig for it.
Newer style pic:

UPDATE: I just got off the phone with Jerry. Some progress he says...hmm? We'll see once Shawn drops by at the shop later this week.
VDC mock-up: Jerry wanted to make a "jig" for the newer style VDC Fiero kit while my car is still there. I said okay but make it fast because I want to pick-up my car. So that's the plan. I'm still heading out to FL. May 31st.
The older style is still available for the Fiero.

Jerry has pics and will send them to me shortly. The shops new address is:
10364 North 66th street Penallas Park, FL. (mis-spelled the city's name) # 727 548-5800
Jerry told me that the shop is 2-blocks down from Starkey Rd. I'm guessing that the new shop isn't too far from the original one? Their web site is still down due to the move I guess? If Shawn has time he might roll-by for some T.V. reporting? I'm tring to arrive a pick-up in Aug?
VDC inquiring: As was mentioned by others, another company is now making the kit for the Fiero for less than 1g. I'm not familiar with these companies but, so far...I'm very pleased with Jerry's VDC kit and dash work. No doubt many will make their own decision on this matter. For now....I hope the best for both parties.

I have plane tickets for July 30th to take a vacation for a week in Pinellas Park, FL. Perhaps I'll be able to get better pictures for ya? I'll just have to juggle that between visiting Clearwater Beach, Drum Circle, International Plaza, etc.

Off Topic... My wife was down there not too long ago and said there was a cool Fiero she passed that had somethign like "Wild Thing"? Perhaps we could meet up and have a Fiero chat/dinner? My L67 Fiero GT is still at Norm's getting some unique mods done.

i'm not sure who's fiero she saw. wasn't mine that's for sure. mine is completely stripped at the moment. there are a few running around here and the owners aren't on the forum. everytime i see them they're going the opposite direction. if i catch up with them, i'm going to mention this forum. when are you coming here? i would love to meet up and B/S. maybe grab a bite to eat or toss back a few pilsners. if we can get the time we can go check out curlys car too. hell, just meeting up with anyone with a fiero interest would be cool. shoot me a pm on your plans. i'll give you my cell # and we'll meet up while you're here.

As some know that Jerry has been working on #15. The shop is bigger and cleaner vs the old shop. Although my VDC kit has been finished for some time, the dash is talking a little longer. I talked to them on Aug 5th and they are up and running.
edit: VDC kit are now painted Viper red
Both doors up

I talk to Jerry today and his in need of a very good Fiero 85-88 for use in making the VDC kits for the Fiero. Car need not run but the doors and frame should be in 100% good shape. Although some may still like the kit, having a donor car on the site is the only viable option for those who want the kit made by Jerry.
Shop location:

I talked to Jerry while I was at the shop. I mentioned about the need for VDC Fiero kits. He said that he'd give a group discount if enough wanted them. Currently the cost is $2195 (not installed). As was mentioned----a 100% good donor car is needed.
i went buy xs custom today and there was a bright orange sticker on the door that said seized for taxes whats up with that and only way i knew it was the place was a 1inch tall red sticker on the door that said xs customs and ther ephine is always busy now anyone have any info
