Are you sure you went by the right shop ? THey had to move their entire shop suddenly this summer because of some problems involving other companies that shared the building with them not paying rent or taxes or something of that nature.
Yes madcurl did get his car, i talked to him last nite. He is on his way back to California.
i went to 10364 66th street lil sticker said open from 10am- 6orsomthing pm had a lil red sticker that said xs custom a few cars in the bays they had glass windows and some cars out back a honda that was hidden in a bush when i peaked inside there were some parts laying around but no sign of life sticker said that it was seized on 10/18/05 so maybe i am wrong but phone dosnt work either

The shop location is between a used car lot and Bank of America. I forgot the cross street. Anyway, the main sign dosen't say. "XS Custom" but a glass (M&G Distributing....something) name. The old phone number is disconnected but, I do have Jerry's cell number.

I talked to Jerry today. He gave a couple of people the....."boot." More production and less fluff. He's still waiting on Frank to drop-off a sound Fiero for VDC Fiero kits. I'm still checking on Decah's web site for year end sales.

I just got off the phone with Jerry. He's still waiting on Frank to bring over the mock-up Fiero. The Cost? $1800 for a bolt-on medium strut group purchase. Hopefully, this summer.....I'll be sending #20 chopper for a VDC hook-up.
Oh yeah, bump. "Cause good threads never die."

The VDC kit that Tony has posted isn't a DECAH kit but a knock-off. The end piece broke-off. I saw the name of the company who made it but, I was too busy adding beef to #15.
Edit: I need to recheck for the actual cost of this kit. Maybe $800 bucks? I would run far away from this kit.

I recieved a call from Jerry today. We talked about cars, shops and what else...VDC kits. Jerry is now in partnership with a paint shop and is moving out of the old shop. I asked about his previous work on the Fiero's VDC and other kits. He say that he can still make them but would need a Fiero donor. I told him that I'm all "booked-out" this time and can't make it to Daytona as a donor for the VDC Fiero kit to be made.

Hmm... So does this mean that he'll make the kits if he can get a Fiero donor? Anybody in Florida got a parts car they can part with?
Yes. Most likely the person who delievers their un-wrecked, unrusted, 100% true doors, and is an 1985-88 would recieve a deal. That would depend greatly on the amount of orders. The only down side is having your Fiero as a guinea pig donor. If you've read my previous post on this subject, obsticles do tend to get in the way. It would be best to deliver a good sound car but, not your main baby.

Hmm. Is this for real? I honestly don't know. Unless Decah is NOW offering a direct bolt-on kit from it's very own factory for the Fiero...then I'd doubt that it's a "Direct bolt-on" kit. Granted, I haven't talked to Decah in several months so maybe things have changed? Of course, the company that is mention could have modified an original universal Decah kit to fit a Fiero? If that's the case..then the planets have aligned themselves, hehe.
The "universal" VDC from Decah used to cost $999 but that was back in 2003. The last I heard it cost nearly $1199 bucks for the universal kit from Decah. If the company that was mentioned has re-modified the kit, then their not charging nothing, right? There's an old saying, "if it sounds too good to be true."
In any case, there have been 2-3 people who have modified the original Decah kit w/o the help from XS Custom. It IMO would be best to contact them and find out actually what was involved and if you know a quality welding shop, purchase the universal kit from Decah and pay them to perform the task or if you have the skills....do it yourself.

Yeah I really doubt that the company linked is selling modified Decah kits at zero profit. More likely they are either:
A) selling cheap imitations of a universal kit not drilled for the Fiero B) selling real Decah universal kits, but when you go to check out find out that the low ball advertised price is no good. C) not selling anything as they are OOB (Out Of Business) and the webpage is still miraculously still up.
I'm thinking it's more likely C. I think I could find a competent, (if not slow) mechanic/body shop that could install the universal kit. But I would want to buy from a reputable place where I know I'm not getting the cheap imitation,

Also, did you notice that the example given isn't a Fiero---it's an import! As I've mentioned before, there are alot of "knock-offs" out there, so beware. An example of a "knock-off" is at the top of the page. The last thing you want is your door flying off on the hwy!

Okay so who has $1199.00 they don't need to give this a try.
I added one to my cart and the site is still accepting orders.
Edited to say... Maybe the stars have aligned??? A quick goole of "Decah bolt-on VDC for Fiero" revealed several places claiming to have them. Too good to be true?
Maybe...several websites all seem to be powered by the same engine. They could be fly by night operations, and when you get nothing in the mail there is no company left to complain to and you money is gone.

Now ain't that something, hehe. They don't have a universal kit for the Fiero but are re-directing us to another type---GT Factory style. I remember calling GT Factory long time ago and what they told me. If it's the same kit I remember, they reccomend "welding" them onto the car.

I tried calling Jerry today using all (5) phone numbers. I'm going to have to say, "This well-hole is all dried up." No shop, if'e deadlines, no Fiero mock-up, and no returned phone calls. The only (2)viable options is using the Decah universal honda kit that Alex used. It's the same beast but with scales, hehe. The installation (from what Alex mentions) is easy https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/058350.html vs. Jerry's modified Decah kit. From what I've seen (from pics) they do fan-outward but more? Anyway, make sure you get the stronger struts because of the heavy Fiero doors. Option B: I'll address that at a later date, hehe. ?

Hehehe. Guess what? I got a call from Jerry. Where in the heck has he been??? Oh well....
Guess who just called me? Jerry at XS Customs and he wants to make mad-dash-mods for #020. Jerry is currently at Jim's Body shop in Seminole (misspelled) FL. He willing to make the VDC and custom dashes for Fiero owners.

(licks chops) Hmmmm,....... I wonder if Jerry could do something with this ?
Hmm. Hey Tony. Is the PROJECT GT Fiero ready to roll to Jerry's? He needs a donor car for #020 mad dash and VDC.
Not quite, but if enough people are interested, (AS IN CASH IN HANDS AND READY TO GO), i might look into having the car towed over to Jerry's shop so he can use it to mock up the hinges for others on the forum wanting this mod.
Note: Jerry is the guy who did curly's lambo doors on #11 and #15. Problem is he does not have a fiero handy to do the mockups for the Decah hinges that people would send him to mod to the fiero.
He did not have the opportunity to do this when he had curly's car due to time constraints.
My role would be to loan him my project car so that others could benefit by having him mod their hinges to fit the fiero.

Why don`t you get a barely drivable $100 Fiero right there in FL and have Jerry use that car for the mockup? He could keep it afterwards..

Too bad I'm not in Florida...I could loan him my new homebrewed chop top indefinitely.

Frank Dragon was going to send one of his [good body] Fieros but, I guess he never got around to it. Jerry needs a non-wreaked, non-rusted 87-88 GT. The key point here is.... non-wrecked as in frame, doors and stuff. Ian, the co-owner took the original mock-ups when they company parted ways.

Why does it have to be a 87-88 GT? Wasn't the frame and doors identical in all Fieros?

From what Jerry told me, they're not the same. Jerry might be mis-imformed and was referring to the GT's ground fx vs. formula notch back stlyes? However, I do know that the car must be in good condition and without any door or frame issues.
