I really want to come, but I am torn. That is why I am trying to get a head count.
1. I am having hot starting issues that I haven't had time or facilities to fully address. I am thinking starter solenoid issue. I will need to make two gas stops along the way. 325 miles. Don't know if I can count on my 22 mpg. 2. I really haven't got anything done to the car since last year. Nothing new to show. (I did rebuild the headlights!) Money is somewhat of an issue. Set aside money for repairs and paint keeps getting swallowed by emergency car repairs on the daily vehicles and household. I have the equivalent of two kids in college. 3. I am not going to Fierorama on Sunday. If I do come, I will drive down Saturday morning and leave after the open house. That equals 10 hours of drive time. I just did this on Saturday & Sunday to Chicago. I FEEL LIKE I AM GETTING TOO OLD FOR THIS! I will have to make another trip to pick-up my new Quad Four. 4. My son (7th grader) just started cross country. He has his first offical in-state meet on Saturday meeting. 5. Hate to disappoint Curley. He has put some work into this get together.I have put together some Caddy & GM Emblems. Plus I have DUB emblems for Troyboy.

Many haven't seen the Stinger and the various items on the car especially the suicide doors. Besides, the Stinger is different than others due to it being a notchback and maybe there might be someone interested in a choptop notchback (wink, wink) using a widebody. Funny isn't it, that people are eyeballing the Stinger right under your nose, hehe. I hope you can make it at least to the CTHC/2 and fix the heating issues. Besides we need a complete 9-choptop photo opts...we forgot to do that last year.

I dont know how but i have completely missed this thread until today ....so, today, i just found out that the cthc2 is next weekend, luckily i havent made any plans=)...so hopefully i will be attending...as for a chopper, unless archies giving away a free chop to the first person there--in which case i would leave today=) and buy an eligible fiero in chicago -- i wont be on the list til late this year if not 2008=(..maybe i'll have a stroke of good luck though...after looking through this thread, ireally want to come but it is a pretty long drive from here to there, i may not be able to take the 88,--one of the wheels fell off this week while i was driving and i dont even want to think about what might happen if i was doing 70 and that happened--

I am definitely confused... . This thread started the year before. I know which day this year....just not what time. I would like to drive up and see the choptops. I suspect I will have to do some tourist type things as punishment for wanting to see this. Or I'll be saving for two modified Fiero attention getters if the other half likes them.

I'd be confused about the date too.
The 2007 Chop Top Home Coming is next Saturday (Sept, 8, 2007)
Every year NIFE has a Fiero show called FieroRama. This year it takes place Sunday 9-9-07 in St. Charles, IL.
Every year I have an "Open House" at my shop, these Open Houses used to be in the Early Spring but a few years ago we moved my Open House to the day before FieroRama. That made the FieroRama into a 2 day event so that people who come in from out of town can make it to 2 shows in one weekend.
As part of my Open House, Curley has started what is called the Chop Top Home Coming. You see Curley is kinda nutty about Chop Tops & he comes all the way in from CA just to see the Chop Tops & visit with all the Fiero people at the Open house & the FieroRama.
Usually we get 70 to 90 people show up at my open house. You don't have to be a member of NIFE or any other club & you don't have to have a chop top or a V-8 to attend the Open House, CTHC, or FieroRama.
Holiday Inn # 1-630 584-5300 in St, Charles. IL This is the official hotel for the Fiero Rama Fri, Sat, & Sun). Please say, "The Fiero Show" to get the group rate. I think I have the #800 number some where?
Leroy and I are arriving to Archie's on Thursday Sept 6th and staying at the Red Roof Inn in Machesney Park, IL on Thur-Fri and checking out that Sat morning the attend the Choptop Reunion (just 3- miles from the shop). The Red Roof Inn # 1- 815-398-9750 @ $55 or $65 per night. After the show where headed to St. Charles to attend the FieroRama show.

I'm in!!! It's been impossible for me to do anything but work recently, but I've managed to pry their hands off of me next weekend and I'm going to Chicago!
I'll be driving up Friday night and plan to get there around midnight.

I will not be able to attend the activities this weekend, I don't want to take this thread off topic so you can see the reason here https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum6/HTML/051166.html Archie, I will call you in the morning to discuss further.

Due to circumstances beyond my control several of the Chop Tops & WideBodies that will be at my Open House on Saturday will not be on display at the Fierorama in St. Charles on Sunday.
As it turns out, several of those cars would need to be trailered to & from St. Charles & considering a 2 hour round trip per car before & after the show, I just don't have enough time to haul them all.
So if you want to see the maximum number of Chop Tops all in one place, you may want to make sure you come to the CTHC on Saturday.
The Good News is that the latest forecast is showing mid 70's & Sunny for both Saturday & Sunday.

That black one in the back looks very familiar. Can you post some progress pics if you have a chance?
I’ll be driving up tomorrow, hope to get there before 11 A.M. I knew when I bought the GBCT that there would be other choptops built and I knew there would be nicer choptops built. I just didn’t think there would be this many. Old Blue is starting to show it’s age. It has had to sit outside for the last 3 years and it’s been kind of hard on the paint and bodywork. I think it’s time for a few changes.
