Blew up a Fiero, hit a curb, had a curb hit you. Think you wrecked, burned, blew up, totaled, fliped, rolled, scratched, dented, broke, tore off, just plain fubar'd a Fiero better than any one else? Post some pics and we will see, and laugh.
May 6th 2007. Fell asleep at the wheel doing 60 mph and rolled it, not good but at least I walked away from it!
Man, sorry to see that. It took you a lot of work to get that car on the road, seems like we were a small group of guys all doing the conversion at the same time. Any plans to make a similar car?
I just read the story on your website, brutal.

Right after the got it back on all fours. Rolled 10+ times at ~90MPh on my way to Caliente. Don't drive without sleep lol.
A few weeks later sitting at home. The new bumpers didn't even get scratched. My tool box went through the decklid before it flew off.
3.4L with bad mounts will break these.
This is why I despise the 2.8L, they make good dock anchors though.
I know pictures of your own screw ups aren't as much fun as pictures of other people's screw ups, so if you have any good pics of someone else's please post lol.

In 1986 my mom had a Fiero 2M4. Six months after she bought it some guy in a Buick turned in front of her and drove over her hood. The car was repaired and she drove it until I was 2 or so. She sold it to one of her co-workers and bought a new 1993 Grand Prix.
Sorry for crappy quality. They were taken in 1986 and I don't have a scanner.
We still have the headlight cover up in the garage attic.

My GF was driving the gold GT above that was rear ended. She was stopped waiting to turn when a guy in a ford explorer hit her at a full 65 MPH. He didn't see her at all so he didn't even try to stop. He said he wasn't paying attention. She got out with only a slight headache from the spoiler shooting through the back glass into the back of the thankfully high seatback. The car still runs and would move under its own power. Mind you i wouldn't take it down the highway, but i did move it in my back yard. So to take that kind of hit and come out like that, i think that says the car is pretty safe.

Hit a Dodge Van at 45 MPH broad side and went under him. The van rode the hood went off the a pillar and over the mirror. His bike rack took broke the skin on the passenger door.
When everything pulled to the right it split the drivers fender. It was over 5K of damage in 1987. I bent the steering wheel over the turn signal and my fist hit the windshield as did my radar detector and smashed the driver side as the hood broke the passenger side.
The good news was I drove it home and he could not get the van back into the drive. I hit his driver side and bent his left front whell so back it would not turn. I had still to this day have the original radiator and front steel bumper section as it was all body damage only.
A few funny things are the passenger headlight assemby was smashed but the headlight did not break. I never did find the antenna and the impact was so hard the battery shorted out and would not hold a charge. I just replace the battery I put in a little whoile ago with 17 years on it. It still worked but I feared one day in the middle of no where it would fail.
The car went on to become my show car vs daily driver and has won award on the local and national leval and was in High Perfomance Pontiac years ago.

Don't forget you went off a CLIFF! Just like in the movies. Next time, use a stunt double.
Glad no one was hurt, though. Every time I read about some of these horrific accidents, I'm reminded of how safe our cars are. I don't know anyone who has been seriously injured or killed in a Fiero wreck (thankfully).

I've seen a few parked here and there. I just recently spotted a parked gold one in Knob Noster at the east end of the business 50. Plus that silver GT off the 50 by Lees Summit.
Ok...this was back in '85... I was driving down the road one evening about 45mph...when a lady pulled right out in front of me and I hit her right on her drivers side by the rear tire, with my foot on the gas pedal.I didn't even have time to lift. I had my seatbelt on and still hit my head on the trim above the windshield. The front tie rod snapped and the front tires went opposite directions. Talk about extreme deceleration. I was and still am surprised at the small amount of damage that the car had.
Here's the only pic I have...

my third Fiero 88' gt 5speed fully loaded air lumbar, factory sub, leather, sunroof.... no spoiler though.... never found out why.
then my first wreck.
Fixed.
Then the final demise of Elinor. head on collision with a Honda Accord. Oh and she was going 50mph and i was going maybe 20mph.
and the Honda. Very much totaled.
I came out with two broken bones in my hand from going through the gage cluster. After I got better I stripped the car for all it was worth and then on to buy my forth Fiero.

I don't know how to do pics but if you look at an archived TD&Q "Roof damaged in need of measurements" you'll see what happens to fiero that gets head butted by a person at freeway speeds.

I started besides removing a slightly blood marked shattered windsheild and spraying some of the car down with bleach and water. In case you are all wondering yes a person running out into the street while the previous owner was going down the road between 55 and 60 mph is what happened to this one notice the tweeked license plate the center is curved and fits a calf muscle the same size as mine.
Damn, what happened to the person and what became of that car since?

Our return trip from the Daytona show March 2003 after taking a second place trophy. Was passing the semi and hydro-planed. We started out on the other side, swung all the way under the truck and got stuck. The semi pulled us like this for 8/10's of a mile. The guy thought we were dead. We walked away...
Elvira was still in the passenger side of the car in this picture.
