I like the style of scoop and it looks like it turned out well. However, I don't understand why you would be happy to bolt it on and have a seam show down the sides. If you're going to glass in the front, why not do it right and glass in the sides too?
Wow! My first new page ownership.

The seam down the sides is a very very small fine line seperation. I choose to do a bolt on because almost every person I have seen with a glassed on type of scoop, has had problems with the glasswork bubbling in the sun. I just don't want those problems. I will be posting pics of the full install once I get to the point that I can do it. Right now I have my hands full with prepping my girlfriends car for paint so my scoop is on the back burner for a week or two.
You will have to either bolt it on or mold it in - you can't do half & half. If you mold in the front & bolt on the rest, you will have a problem with it cracking out. Also, if you didn't provide indentions for the clips then they will make it stand off the hood a little bit. If the 'glass is thick enough, you can just drill holes & screw in self threading screws. ~ Paul aka "Tha Driver"

I never really thought of it cracking out. Thats a good point. I am hoping that the 3m tape & glass running across the front will be enough to help keep the front leading edge from moving at all. If it cracks out then I will try somthing else.
As for the indentations... We did not leave indentations in the mold but it is easy enough to make a little indentation on the actual part.
I'm trying to stay away from self threading screws cause I want the underside of the hood to look finished and not thrown together.

The only glassing I will be doing is at the front leading edge where the scoop and the hood come together right down by the bumper.

As of right now no. The red GT is mine and the scoop is not actually installed in the pics. It was just sitting on top of the hood. I have 2 scoops here, 1 for my car and 1 for sale. No one has bought 1 yet so no other car has 1 on it. Mine has not yet been installed cause I have been busy working on painting my girlfriends car. I hope to install my scoop and post pics within the next 3 or 4 weeks.

I was talking about the screws going up through the hood, just like if you had the clips, but threading directly into the 'glass (if it's thick enough). ~ Paul aka "Tha Driver"

I finally got to start working on my car again now that I finished painting my girfriends car. I have now begun to paint mine.
Hood scoop installed and freshly painted and cleared...
Headlight buckets from my Munson Lights. I have been waiting to paint these for 5 years! It will be so nice to finally paint my car and get rid of the Bra.

The color is called Starburst Blue Metallic. These pics do not do this color justice at all. I never have been a huge fan of Blue but when I seen this color, I had to have it.
Tomorrow I will try to get some pics of it outside in the sun.

what's the "cher " with arrow pointing to the antenna ?
It is the end of the word "boucher" meanin "plug" in french.
I wrote instructions for the paint guy directly on the car with a kind of wax pen, and because I moved the antenna under the fender, this hole have to be filled.

What did you used to "glue" the scoop to the hood ?
What did you used to "glue" the scoop to the hood ?
do you have pictures of the undeside ?
I used 3M double sided moulding tape. I ran it down each side and across the front. I also used 2 clips (the ones used on your fenderwell liner) and attached them to the lip on the underside of the scoop and put screws in from under the hood.
I will take some pics of the screws tomorrow. I don't have any pics of the underside of my scoop and I don't have another scoop here to take pics of. As soon as I can go pick up another scoop I will take some pics.

I took a long look at your car at the show because i really wanted to see if the work could possibly be as good as the pictures looked (cause they looked real good !).
To my surprise, the pictures didn't even do it justice. You did one heck of a job IMO.

Thanks a lot Tony. I am trying my best to make sure I do this right and not take short cuts. If you think it looks good now, wait till I cut and buff it.
Sorry I didn't get the chance to talk to you more. I was kinda in high demand that day and I didn't even get a chance to walk around and look at all the other cars.
Maybe we can work something out when your ready to paint your Chop Top.

Wow, that mean your scoop is not "blended" in the hood. I should think about going that way with mine. Like this, you are sure to completely eliminate the risk of crack.

Thats why I designed it the way I did. It can be blended/molded in or installed as a bolt on and still look good.

There are 3 screws on the top edge of the bumper that hold the bumper on (same area as the hood scoop). Make sure you replace those with flat head screws or the hood scoop will hit them.

Do you know if somebody still making "Munson Lights" kit ?
Kris is still making the kit but he has not had the time to make any lately. If you seriously want a set, I will call him and have him try to get a set made. I can then PM you when they are ready and send you a paypal invoice. The price would be $360.00 shipped to Canada.

Off topic: Where did you get those turn signal covers?
On topic: Nice hood scoop
The turn signal covers are also made by Kris and the same applies to them as do the headlights. The turn signal covers are a lot easier to make. Kris is going to let me know when he has the next batch available. They are $45.00 shipped to the US.

It is hard to take a good picture of this hood-scoop on a black car, but believe me, it is wonderfull !!!

So the only thing used to hold this on your hood is 3M tape? You didn't use the screws and clips like Jimmys planned to? It looks very nice, especially if it's that easy to install. Very tempting. Any opinions on how one would look on a bumper-pad car?
