Will do. Please let me know if you want to be an alternate for my remaining unpaid coins. I will make them available on June 1, if they are not paid for by the people who had originally requested them. The list is forming.
All of the paid for geocoins are in the mail. They have had their first trip in a Fiero as I drove them to the Post Office this afternoon. They are officially Fiero Geocoins.
Here is the receipt and insurance slips. I guessed slightly wrong on shipping costs. The larger orders went slightly over $4.00 when you include the shipping envelopes. My gift to you. Please post photos when you get your coins and let me know what you think of them.
Three people are getting coins for free. I am responsible for two of those people. Mary from GM got one as a sample per the legal agreement to check the quality, and my artist gets two for designing the front and back of the coin. There is another person who will be receiving one from a member of the forum who has impressed me with his generosity. He wished to remain anonymous and I will respect his wishes.
You are a great bunch of guys and I appreciate you all. We did it!!!

Stupid question. Are there any last minute manufacturing changes in the looks of the coins? I need to see what the final version look's like? I do not suppose I would be lucky enough to get into the loop if anybody drops out?

The dies have been made. From now on the only things we can change are the color choices unless we spend another $100/side to have a new die(s) made. I won't even consider having another run of coins made until the first round has been sold out but it looks like that won't be an issue.
Kevin you are on the list. On June 1, I will fill the remaining requests in the order that I have received them. Some have been by pm and have not shown up in here in the replies but I will fill them in order. Posting a message in this thread stating that you want one is all that it takes. I prefer that to getting a bunch of pm's that way they stay in order. Have the money in your paypal account by June 1. The cost will be $12.75. That includes shipping to the US and covers the paypal fees. Do not send your money now.
We have done the groundwork during this first run to be able to make these coins available from now on. (That is why it took three months). Turnaround time will now be approximately 4 weeks from the date that we place our order, possibly less if we use the current dies.

Thanks for all that work. You should be proud.. I say your efforts with this venture is quite REMARKABLE... congratulations are in order. Do you have the waiting list available that you can publish here maybe that will convince more to order them .... can't wait to see if I get one of these in the first round.... hihihi Thanks again .....

I won't have access to my home computer where my records are for the next couple of days but I will post it for you when I can. I want everyone who wants one to get one.
If the postal service is quick some members could get their coins tomorrow if they live in the Midwest. I can't wait to see who gets theirs first.

...it would be cool to have a custom Fiero Geocoin made. For those of you who don't know what they are, they are highly artistic coins usually about 2 inches wide and three millimeters thick. They are beautiful in their own right and worthy of collecting if done properly.
From the replies, and pm's that I have received so far it appears that we have accomplished what we set out to do.
This is the core group of PFF Members that has made this project possible through their willingness to financially back this project. Most of them did not even know what a geocoin was in the beginning. They have made it possible for the rest of us to obtain these coins.
I would especially like to thank Earl-R who's coin order made up nearly 10% of the total purchase. His request came along when I wasn't sure if we would meet the minimum quantity required to place an order. Thanks Earl.
Because of the people in this list members of fiero.nl have their own geocoin. That is something to be proud of.
I would also like to thank Mary from Equity Management Inc., for approving our Letter of Authorization granting us the written permission that was required to obtain the tracking numbers from Groundspeak. She was also responsible for waiving the fee that probably would have been a show-stopper.
It would not be right if I didn't thank Kelly, from Coinsforanything.com who manufactured our coin. I badgered her relentlessly and I am sure that I frustrated her a few times with my perfectionism and re-do's of the final design. She was a trooper and always professional.
The people at Groundspeak who issued our tracking numbers were great to work with. Even though we did not meet the 1,000 orders required (yet) they granted my request to have the custom-tracking-number prefix PF on all of our coins. (More on that in a moment). Details are what separate the good from the exceptional. Thank you.
I also have to thank Cliff Pennock for moving this thread from the OT section to the General section. Shortly after that we met the required amount to place our order which at the time was 100 minimum. It has now been dropped to 50 by Groundspeak. Cliff was also kind enough to let us place www.fiero.nl on the coin. By doing that we were able to meet one of the legal requirements of the LOA.
In order to thank Cliff for all he has done for us I will be auctioning off one of the remaining geocoins in the Mall Section. All money above the cost of the coin, shipping, etc, will go to Cliff in order to help finance the forum. Here is the really cool part. The tracking number on the coin is PFF***. (*** are actual numbers on the coin). I will get a high-res photo of both sides of the coin posted soon.
Wow Race!! Unbelievable! You know when you started this thing, I really, like most didnt have any idea what Geocaching was. I've since been to the website and understand it now. I see I have to buy a GPS now though . I have to ask honestly of the people that have gotten these, Who is going to just leave them out somewhere where they can get pocketed or rained on or snowed on and be left unloved?
I think I will start exploring and go hiking and getting into this now but their is no way I will be able to release all these out into the world. I think what you have done here with your handling of this project from start to finish really says something about your character and how you are as a person. Great Job Race

Several of mine will travel. That is what they are for and why I ordered 12 of them for myself. Once they are gone I'll have more made. They are very cool but really they are not that expensive individually. I'll post the tracking number once the are activated so that you can place it on your watch list at geocaching.com. How cool will it be when one of you find it? For the ones that I am keeping I chose personalized engraving.
I wonder who is going to be the first one to turn it into a hood ornament. If you don't have to have a front license plate it would look great in the center of the air intake or in place of the stock hood badge.
Btw, you don't need a GPS to hunt geocaches. Enter the Lat Long into google earth then print the map. It works well in urban environments, not so good deep in the woods. If you are hardcore get a compass and topo map then determin your position the hard way. I bet there are a few people here who could do it.

Thanks for all your hard work in making sure it worked out so well and for keeping everyone well informed along the way.
The kids and I have been interested in geochaching, but do not have a gps, thanks for the tip on using google to map a location. We might have to try that before we commit to a gps. For now, I will hold on to these coins and keep an eye out for any new designs that might possibly come up. Job well done!

I also received mine in the mail yesterday, I was out of town at a car show. When I got back this afternoon I was pleasantly surprised to see them! They are absolutely perfect, thank you Kenton yet again for putting so much time and effort into this project.
One coin is for my Fiero, one coin is for my dad's Fiero, one is for my boyfriend's Fiero (when he gets it), and one is for my Grandpa. I cannot wait to show my family these unique collectibles. The other two coins are going to explore the world, and hopefully end up passing through the hands of some PFF members. I can't wait to place them!

I have created a non-profit auction in the Mall Section to help cover the cost of running this forum for our members. Any revenue above the cost of the coin and shipping will be donated to Cliff Pennock for forum maintenance.
Auction Listing . . . Unclaimed Coins Alternate List and Award Proceedure.
This is the current alternate list for awarding unclaimed coins. Unclaimed coins will be released for sale on June 1. They will be awarded in the order that you see here. (The order that they were requested) You can still be added to the list if you wish. Each person will get one coin until we run out or reach the end of the list. After going through the list once we will start over at the beginning and award an additional coin to each person who wants more than 1 until they are all spoken for.
If your name is on the list please let me know how many coins you would like at your earliest convenience. The price is $13.00 US Dollars for the first coin. - Includes shipping to the US and Paypal fees. Add $8.28 for a second coin if you choose more than one. If shipping is international the buyer pays the additional Customs and shipping fees. Paypal Only.
If you wish to be added or removed from the list let me know. Being on the list is not a commitment to buy but it reserves your option to buy.
Note: the list has been moved to Post 1 Page 1 of this thread.
If you are going to use your coins for geocaching please activate them before placing them in a cache.

Got mine in the mail yesterday too. Very nice, I am very impressed with the quality. I will have to learn more about geocaching when I get more spare time to enjoy these sorts of things.
Yes keep me on the list. Put me down for 3. I've already picked out a spot for two of them.
I checked the Geocashing site last night, Holy cow, there are people putting these all over the place. I was very surprised to see how many were close to the 33950 zip code.
Thanks for turning us on to this, kind of reminds me of the motorcycle poker runs we used to do years ago.
I enjoyed viewing that site, looked over my old stomping grounds in the 20902 zip code area
There was alot of history tied into the areas where people are placing these. I learned about a civil war battle that took place right where I went to school. I never knew it. http://www.mrlincolnswhiteh...p?ID=127&subjectID=4
Thanks again.
Dave

The thing that I like about geocaching is that it will take you to cool places that you would never find otherwise. I travel for a living and it is like having a local tour guide inside of my GPS.
