wow Kenton! awesome! I am very glad that you got the official clearance to use the trademark logo's... these things look and feel fantastic. I got both of mine on Saturday. I wish I could (+) you again.
Sadly though... you've become a victim of your own success. You have created something here that is almost too good to let go! I have no desire to send my coins out in the world...
And I thought i might give my 2nd one to a buddy... I'm kinda re-thinking that now.
If you need a 2nd run signup... count me in... I doubt I will use my current set for their intended purpose. thanks man!
-again, awesome work man. And I will bid on your mall auction... it's a really good idea.
Got mine late PM. on Friday. I AM VERY IMPRESSED!!!!! These are truely a work of art and I am so glad I placed my trust in you to see this project through to finish. Thanks for doing this for the Fiero Comunity.

A few weeks ago I was contacted, VIA PM, by a member of the forum. I had seen this members posts on the forum but never really exchanged any form of conversation with this member. This member sent me a PM asking me for my name and address cause another forum member (who wanted to remain anonymous) wanted to send me something Fiero related. That is pretty much the jist of the PM. I had my reservations about supplying this information and couldn't help but wonder why this person would want to be anonymous and also what did they want to send me. With all the curiousity and reservations, I went ahead and supplied the info.
I just got home from work a few min's ago and when I checked my mail, I had a really pleasant surprise...
To the person who had RACE send me this coin...
I don't know who you are and I also don't know what I did to deserve this kind of generosity but I thank you from the bottom of my heart. That was a very nice gift. I wish I knew who you were though cause I would like to thank you personally and publicly.
RACE... These coins and stunningly beautiful and I congratulate you on a job well done! BIG + to you
Got mine today. Not including pics, cause mine look remarkably like everybody else's! But I do have to add what has also already been said, these things are amazing. Very high quality stuff. I don't see how I could ever part with mine. Guess I'll just have to order some more with the next batch being made.
Thank you Kenton for putting this together and seeing it through in such a professional manner, you sir are to be saluted!
JimmyS: your post is very reassuring as far as keeping the faith in humanity alive, at least for me. Glad you got in on the first round, you must deserve it, or it couldn't have happened...........just my take on it.
Thanks again Kenton.............SALUTE!

Well written JimmyS. I tried to + you back but I already had. I know for a fact that the person who sent you the coin will see your reply and I am sure that he will say, "You're welcome".
There were several people who made large contributions to the project who did not want to be publicly recognized. I know who each of them are and am very grateful for their input. This project might not have even happened without them. One in particular.
Please do not speculate as to whom these people might be. I don't want to see a single reply trying to guess. I want to respect their wishes for anonymity so I will neither confirm nor deny anything in regard to who they might be. I just wanted you to know that I did not do this all by myself.
I did spend a tremendous amount of time on this project. The main thing that I did do was find the best artist that I could get on my team and the best manufacturer to produce our coins. I searched a long time trying to find the manufacturer with the best quality, prices, and sales policies. Many companies produce top quality products but their prices or policies were unacceptable. I wanted it all, and at a price that anyone here could afford. Coinsforanything.com was the best in my opinion. You may notice that they were not even listed in the Groundspeak vendor list at the geocaching forum. I found them on my own because I wasn't happy with the 35 that were on the list.
If you would like to know about the people who manufactured our coins you can read about them in this link. The owner, Jeff is a former United States Marine Corps Sergeant. I choose to support people who serve our country whenever possible. He has put together an excellent staff. Kelly was my go-to person and you have already read about her in page 6 of this thread so I won't go into that again.
There was not a single error in the engraving. We got every coin that we ordered with exactly what we wanted on each one. I had expected a couple of coins to arrive with incorrect tracking numbers. People are not perfect. The job they did was. Each coin was exceptional. This is the type of thing that can be accomplished when excellent people surround you.
I have enjoyed reading your responses. I will probably print them and store them with the paperwork from the first order. I said before that this was worth doing just to have the coins made. Thanks to everyone who gave me a + too.
Now go bid on that geocoin in the Mall so that we can give something back to Cliff to help cover the cost of this forum.
- Kenton

I received mine today and all I can say is WOW!!! They have surpassed my expectations by leaps and bounds! I will reluctantly place these in some caches to travel around the world, my fear is they are so nice that they may get snatched up. I will have to put my faith in the Geocaching community that they will be hones and upstanding.
I just put my first Fiero Geocoin in a cache...........I hope it does better than the 2 Fiero TB's I sent out. I started a new thread where everyone can post their Geocaching Name and a link to the page with it shows where your trackables are now. That way we can check and see if we can find your coin. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/075990.html
If your name is on the list please let me know how many coins you would like at your earliest convenience. The price is $13.00 US Dollars for the first coin. - Includes shipping to the US and Paypal fees. Add $8.28 for a second coin if you choose more than one. If shipping is international the buyer pays the additional Customs and shipping fees. Paypal Only.
If you wish to be added or removed from the list let me know. Being on the list is not a commitment to buy but it reserves your option to buy.
If you have yet to receive the coins you ordered check Post 1 of Page 1 and make sure that I have received your payment. If I show you as paid your coins has been shipped.
If I don't show you as being paid I didn't send out your coin. If I have made an error please let me know so that I can resolve it. If you haven't paid, you have at least 2 old pm's in your mailbox. You have until 11:59pm on the last day of this month to send your funds. If you are no longer interested in your coins please let me know so I can release them early. ---------------------------------------------------
After these are all paid for and shipped out I will begin taking coin requests for a second order. At that time I will start a new thread so that I can keep them organized.

Send him one. It is yours. If you want to work out the details with him as far as customs and shipping be my guest.
I just don't want to ever see these on ebay. We need to make sure that they go to forum members only to not violate our Letter of Authorization. Also keep in mind that these are a non-profit item. I have broken even on the deal and will continue to do so for future orders.
Next time I will require payment from everyone before the coins are produced so that there are no loose ends like I have now. If this order was finalized we would already have another one in production. Another part of the learning curve.
Page 1, Post 1, of this thread has been updated with the alternate list. If you are new to this thread the most recent information can be found there so that you don't have to search through the entire thread.

Thanks for bidding. This auction is a benefit for the forum and all members by helping Cliff cover the expenses.
I will put you on the list to hold your place. It is not a commitment to buy. It is just a request. We can remove it later if you are the winning bidder.

Just a quick note to say I'd like to be on the list for a second run. Would like to get another 3 at least. Please let us know when you start collecting funds for a second round.

maryjane, I will add you to the alternate list. Already there won't be enough coins for everyone and I will roll the remaining names over to the next run.
I am going to bump up the deadline for the non-payers to get me their money to next week. They have had nearly 2 months to pay for their coins. I have sent several pm's and made several posts about it here. There has been enough geocoin talk in the forum that they should have known to check the list to see if they have paid for them. If I show you as paid, you either have them, or they are on the way. I need to recover the money that I have tied up in them. The rest of you would like to move forward, as would I, and we are.
I am going to take a few days off from the forum over the holidays starting on Sunday. When I get back it's game on. My cost to get them in the mail to you is within pennies of $13 for 1 coin. Have it ready to go in your paypal account if you want to stay on the list. I want it to happen fast when this moves again. In the meantime if you want a coin(s) post the quantity here. Please do not send me a pm. It will be easier to transfer the list from this page rather than multiple pm's. I will send out a pm with my paypal address and instructions to everyone on the list next week.
We should have no problem getting the amount required for an order very quickly. As of April 4, Groundspeak now has a 50 coin minimum to obtain tracking numbers. If we order a production run of 50 coins the manufacturer charges $0.50 more per coin but I don't think that 100 will be a problem either.
Pm's sent to the alternate list.

I would definitely be interested in a few more coins. I want others who haven't gotten them yet to get them though, so I will wait until the second run.
I've been bidding on the PFF coin to help get the price up, and as badly as I want it, I hope someone who doesn't have a coin yet wins it!

Kenton, if you take point on the 2nd run (I have no doubts that there will be enough demand for a multiple runs!)... I was curious if you thought a different background color might be interesting?... It would quickly differentiate which run the coin is from, and may even inspire some collectability. Just thinking out loud.
Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend!

I think that's a great idea changing the background color. You could make a series representing each color for the Fiero or a color representing each year the car was built. And then there were none. But I would suggest only changing the color on the back side leaving the front side in it's original form.
I like the collectability idea of the coins. But, one must leave the nest...I will plant/hide one geocoin this weekend enroute to Idaho. Will be curious to see who the first person is that finds it.
Either way, I'm up for more of them on the next run. You can put me down for 5 more.
I'm with sadie goad on this....i.e., let those who didn't get in on the first round take what's left. I'm in for 3 on a second run though. Just let us know when you will be collecting funds.
Also, like IwannaIRM, think if there's a background color change, it should just be the back side......the front is perfect the way it is IMHO.

About the color changes, I am about two weeks ahead of you guys. I didn't want to discuss it yet but since it is out in the open now, I have already been talking to the manufacturer about our options. That is one reason why I have bumped up the deadline. When I post the new thread for Order 2 you will see what I have been working on. I didn't want it to detract from the 1st Edition coin that we are working on now. That's all I'm going to say about it until this round has been put to bed.
The first round needs to be sold out and shipped before moving on. Next time there won't be unfinished business like I have now so that new orders can happen quicker.

I like the collectivity aspect of this--different editions. Can we look forward to each edition never being reproduced again? (Judging from the current bid in PFA, I'd say they are already desirable as a collectors item.)
