Things are starting to look nicer! Got the Dynamat installed on the drivers side. Used 4 of my 9 sheets, and needs just a couple of small patches. So, I should be able to finish the whole floor with this pack. I'm probably going to order another bulk pack for the doors, roof, and any other spots I can find. Pics!
While I was finishing up the last piece, I noticed there was this Loc-tite-like substance on the Dynamat. I was kinda confused, because I hadn't used Loc-tite at all tonight.

DOH! I don't know how I even cut it. Ha.

And then the finished product!

And of course, I have a question. What is this hole for?

Is it just to vent new air in and out of the car? I remember seeing a thread somewhere on here, where a guy put a set of 4x10's in these. Would that cause something bad to happen? Like, there's not enough fresh air circulating through the car or something crazy like that?
Thanks for looking!

EDIT:
Woo! I own page 2!

Finished installing the floor Dynamat tonight. I used up all 9 sheets just about perfectly to fill up the entire floor and firewall. I'll order another bulk pack for the doors and roof this weekend.

Can anyone answer my question posted earlier?
Thanks!

Bump!
I ordered new tires today, so I got the wheels off tonight. Man did it need new tires! All but one were shot and held air for about 10 minutes.

Also, remember I said it needs new brakes? Well, the pads and lines looked perfect. Then I realized I totally forgot about the obvious--the brakes fluid!
Sure enough, there's barely enough fluid to even power the front brakes! Awesome! Cheap fix. Check it out:

So here's where I'm at so far from getting it back on the road.
-Battery holder
-Misc. Engine work (air filter, oil, coolant, vacuum hoses, etc.)
-Rear brake lines/pads
-Valve cover gasket -$15.27
-Battery -64.99
-Tires -$417.80
-Belt -$12.59
-Wash! -$0
And my other list- The upgrades list. I'm sure a lot of you guys are curious to where this thing is going.
-Dynamat w/ roller -$165.27
-New Carpet
-Mr. Mikes Seats
-Headliner
-All interior trim
-Fiero Thomas leather boots
-Fiero Store shifter assembly and short shifter
-mmeyer86gt/gtp shift knob
-New radio/speakers
-Interior Bezels/covers/plates
-New steering wheel
-New Sail Panels
-New performance brake kit
-New wheels/tires
-New Dual Exhaust
-Lowering/Suspension Kit
-V8 Archie Widebody Kit
-Paint

And that's it. My grand total so far is: $1082.29 (car included).

That hole is part of the ventilation system. I doubt you'd notice much if any difference if you used it for something else.
One note on a previous picture, when you did the patch job on the rust holes did you make sure you cleaned every bit of rust out first? Even a little bit left behind will grow and reappear--hence the nickname "body cancer".

Yeah, I took a wire wheel on a drill to it, and worked it good. Then I sprayed this rust remover paint crap. It like turned whatever rust was left black.

New tires on!
I took the Fiero for the first drive. This is the first time I've driven a Fiero, too. Man, are these fun to drive!
A couple of pics of the car with the new tires.

Bad news, though.
After a couple of miles, I noticed smoke coming from the engine department, again. It's leaking oil somewhere, still. So the valve cover gasket wasn't the problem. I hope the block isn't cracked. Where else could oil leak from? It looks like it's coming out of the front of the valve cover, but lower, possibly.

Look for some free HP in that thing.

Ported exhaust manifolds
Ported Y pipe
Port the lower, middle, and upper intakes

Then get
NGK UR5 plugs
Look up $Rich$ ground
If you're re-wiring look into Sinister Performance's 7730 ECU swap

Nice work, I have an 84 2M4 that needs a restoration, looking for a job?

Thanks for that info. Good to know.
And I'd gladly restore your car. All you have to do is bring it here. Ha.
