In my personal opinion, a checkered flag should have black checkers. It doesn't really matter all that much to me if the flag is black or blue, I will go with the majority vote. My order will remain the same either way.
Put me on the list for the next buy of 10 coins.
The only issue I have with this idea is... It's going to get very hard to collect all the different designs. Since these can not be sold, it will have to be a trade off and that can get difficult. I want them for pure collectibility and would like to have at least 1-2 of each design that gets made.
Regarding the selling of the coins... I fully understand tha we are bound by Pontiacs agreement but what if a coin is put into a Cache, someone (stranger) finds it, thinks it's pretty cool and pops it on ebay? I have no intention on putting mine into a Cache but I know others do.
How many coins were actually made of the first run?
Is it possible to get a copy of the approval letter from Pontiac. It would be cool to Frame the letter with the coins around it. Especially now that Pontiac is no longer.

I would like to know this as well. I would also like to get a copy of the letter. Thanks. John

You guys can sell your coins to forum members. There is no problem with that. It is your property. EMI considers the coins club material. Keep in mind that our approval is based upon it being a not for profit venture.
There were 133 coins made during the first run. All were the same.
More later. Got to go.

Tomorrow I am going on a Fiero road trip with my wife to northern MO. where there are actually some curves. (I think that there is a law here in Iowa that says roads must be flat and straight).
Hope you enjoyed your Fiero road trip & had some fun with the curves. (Yeah, the road curves too.)

I edited my posts to avoid confusion with designs since I posted so many pictures, and since I changed quantities so many times. Lock me in at the last post I made, that is my final answer! ;-)
The letter of agreement is 5 pages long and I am not going to provide copies for everyone who wants one. Sorry. I will post the front page for those who want to see it.
The last paragraph on this page is the important one. Sections 1 and 2 of the application explained to them how I wanted to use their trademarks and how the coins were to be distributed. I am allowed to do only what I asked them for in sections 1 and 2, and what it says in the paragraph.
The rest of the letter describes shipping, non-transferability of the authorization since I had to sign my name to the papers, quality of the product, reputation of GM, how I don't necessarily represent the views of GM, and termination of the LOA if we mess up the deal. I am going to do my best to stay as far inside of the LOA as possible. I am proud of what we have accomplished and want to be able to continue with the blessing of EMI and GM.
I have said it before, this is a group project. Each person who orders a coin has a stake in the project although the legal responsibility for executing the terms of the LOA falls on me. Your coins are yours but they come with the responsibility to not mess things up for future members who may want to make future purchases.
If you are buying coins so that you can resell them and make a profit let me know so that I can terminate your order. That is not what club materials are intended for. If I find out that a forum member is selling one on ebay that person will never get another coin from me. Don't let greed enter into this project. It's OK to covet,...a little.
If you sell them for the total cost that it takes to get one or more of your coins to somebody, that is completely fine with me and I don't think that it violates our LOA as long as they go to forum members.
I treated this as a group buy from the start. You bought your own coins and I merely lead the project. From day 1 this has been a break even en devour for me as a service to our members. If there is ever money left over I will donate whatever remains after paying all of the bills to help pay for the forum.
I would like to provide a little background about the first round of coins. The first round of coins should have been about $2.50/each more expensive. I did not calculate in cost of the shipping envelopes ($0.80 each), paypal fees, and the cost of shipping for the larger orders. There are three reasons that I broke even.
Number 1, the cost of the coins was based upon 100 coins and we ended up ordering 133. That helped dilute the price of the dies. ($99 per side).
Another reason that I did not loose money is that there were around 20 coins that were personalized instead of having tracking numbers. I have to pay for the tracking numbers. It is cheaper to request personalized coins but it means more work. I am happy to do it though. In the case of the last order it saved me.
The final reason is that there were several people who either told me to keep the change or just paid more than the $4 that I had requested for shipping and I have thanked as many as I could in the previous project and in pm's. It was a learning process that luckily I didn't get burned on.
I have tried to be up front with everybody and communicate as well as possible when new information arose. If you have further questions about the workings of the project please feel free to send me a pm.

Hope you enjoyed your Fiero road trip & had some fun with the curves. (Yeah, the road curves too.)
It was a blast! The roads that we were on are so different from anything else in the Midwest. They are very agressive, narrow, hilly, curvy and nearly deserted. We were responsible but had a good time. It is one of the areas where the speed limit is too generous for much of the road. I have aftermarket sway bars, poly bushings and KYBs and gave them a workout. Pure driving ________! - (There is no word that adequately describes the emotion it but if you have experienced it you know what I mean). It was good.
We also learned a little history about southern Iowa near Exline and Centerville, and saw the damage from the recent tornado near Novinger, MO on our way down to New Boston. It was incredible how large trees and roofs can be snapped off.
_____________
Back on topic, the lists have been updated to reflect everyone's preferences.
Please check the accuracy of your requests on Post 1, Page 1. There is no need to reply if it is correct.
I go back and forth when it comes to the checker color on the BWG coin. Majority rules, each coin ordered = 1 vote. Lets get this done quick and put this issue to bed. Count how many BWG coins you have ordered and then reply "# votes for black" or "# votes for Blue" I am leaning towards blue.
Thanks and good night.

I understand. If you are willing to make a nice quality copy of all 5 pages, I will pay for the copies and shipping and I will scan them and upload them to www.fierofiberglass.com where anyone who wants to, can download them for free and print them.
You did a great job Kenton and you should be proud.

Your doing a great job, I can't remember any other PFF member ever coming up with a product that we "cheap" Fiero owners don't mind forking out money for.

CoolBlue87GT, sorry about that. Changes made. I actually changed it last night but must have closed the browser before I clicked the "Submit Changes" button. I had three of them open at once so that I could cross reference the edit, pm page and last page of this thread.
[b]To all: If you have placed a request for coins, check the list on Post 1, Page 1 to make sure that I have listed your request properly. I will be using it to place our order.

Project update. We seem to have stalled out at around 82 coins. If we order 50-99 coins we will pay the manufacturer $0.50 more per coin. I may up my order a little bit but we will still be 10-15 coins short of getting the 100 coin rate.
I am getting excited to get this project finished and get some new coins again. In order to get this rolling, the deadline for new requests will be Friday 12 at 11:59pm. At that point the order will be frozen and you will be locked into whatever it was that you requested. After that I will get the quote from the manufacturer with the most up to date pricing and we will proceed to the next step which is collecting everybody's money and obtaining tracking numbers.
Please use the pricing information on Post 1, Page 1 to get a rough idea of how much you will need to have in your Paypal account. Please have the money ready to go. Payment method is Paypal only, and I will not be ordering until everyone has paid. This time there will be no alternate list and no extra coins will be available, at least not from me. You have until Friday, June 12th to get what you want.
For people who are jumping into the thread late, these are the coin options:
BWG Front and Back (Blue checkers came it at 5 to 1 over black so that is what we are going with).
This is the BBS option. Front and back
Both are available in any quantity that you wish. Once again if the total order is 100 coins or more each coin will be $0.50 cheaper since we will not have to pay the 50-99 coin fee per coin. The deadline for new requests is Friday June 12, at 11:59pm.

Wow! I know I am late to the parade for this, but I am glad I came back to check the forum, as I dont make it on much at all lately, even to lurk like I always used to. This is a great idea, and as a Fiero nut for the last 12 years, and a less experienced geocacher of 2 years, I cant pass this up,
I would like 2 of each coin. 1 of each with DRIEDGER on it, and 1 of each with a tracking number on them.
I will be updating the list each night but may not be able to do it during the day as much as I have been, but the project will proceed as planned.
As always, please verify that I have your requests listed properly. I received a pm from a member who I completely missed. It was unintentional and has been corrected. All changes have been made up to this point and I believe that the orders are now accurate.
We will have at least 100 coins so paying the low volume fee per coin will not be an issue.

Oh, I forgot to ask, is it $4 shipping for each coin, or $4 total for a reasonable amount of coins. I know USPS Media mailers are like $5 to ship and should hold quite a few coins. Just trying to get an idea of how much I need to have ready in my Paypal. Thanks! Hope your Dad is OK!

EDITED 06-09-09: I forgot to add the price of shipping from the factory. ($70 based upon the last order) Assuming 100 coins that would be an extra 0.70 on top of the $4.00 that I had expected. Sorry for the late change.

Reminder: you have until Friday night to place your order. Also, I had forgotten to add the price of shipping from the manufacturer so please add $0.70 per coin. Sorry about that. Last time they charged me $70 for shipping. I am basing this on 100 coins.
Please tell me you'll just post a full price of the coins when you are ready for us to pay. I'm being lazy and didn't try to figure out final cost per coin. I'm ready to pay. Thanks for doing this again. I still adore the first addition. John

The order is now set and I will update the list, however I will not be able to work on this until Sunday night. I will post payment instructions then. After that we will collect the money and get production rolling.
