Got mine today. Thanks Kenton, you've done an excellent job with this. Wish the outfit that makes these did some other stuff, their work is every bit as good as the U.S. mint's, IMHO.

Thank you. I am glad that everybody likes them. I have enjoyed reading your comments.
Btw, Coins for Anything does do other things. There is another company that I know of that actually makes a slightly higher quality product. I can give you the name if you like but they are nearly twice as expensive. When I originally started the geocoin project I wanted a top quality product at a price that everyone could afford. I was not willing to put out a coin that was not top quality but I had to balance several factors like, price, method for distribution, marketing, and risk. I had no idea how much demand there would be and I did not want to take a $1000+ dollar gamble.
The original core group from Geocoin 1 deserve our thanks. They paved the way for our car club to have it's own geocoin. (I believe the only other type of car to have a geocoin is Porsche). The core bought a product from me that did not even exist. They stuck with me, as you all have while we tied up the last of the loose ends.
The coins are very cool but to me they are also a reminder of the trust that you all have placed in me. Thank you for letting me lead another project.
Very soon you will see a preview of Geocoin 3. It will cost about $0.30 more than the BWG coin if we get to 100 coins total quantity ordered. (+$0.50 fee per coin for low quantity production if we order between 50 and 99 coins). In my opinion it could quite possibly be the nicest coin that we are capable of making with our dies.

if I am going to put my name on a project and collect other people's money to fund it, it will be excellent or I will not do it. Photos can not depict the tactile charastics of the coins. Since Geocoin 1, I have carried at least 1 coin with me in my baggage. No matter where I go I like to have access to them. I bet that I am not alone in doing this.
I like Synthesis's's's traveling coin project. It gives people who don't purchase coins a chance to enjoy them. - At least for a while.

The coins look absolutely wonderful. It's too bad I missed the boat on the second batch (correct?) but I will definitely be anticipating the third come 2010 (or whenever).
