i'm wondering if someone could crop the red light bar out of the front end of K.I.T.T. and photoshop it into the front of my car? this is the best front end shot i currently have of my Fiero.
i'm buying a car alarm and i want to try and do something different with the LED "warning light" output, i've always been a fan of kitt as well
the kitt i'm referring to is the original Trans Am, not the mustang reproduction. i think it'd look pretty cool on the front

That whole project wouldn't be all that hard, even with no previous bodywork skills. All you have to do is cut that little piece out of the bumper, and install that light.

i would like to be able to notch the bumper & make it look like it was designed to be there (ise the little part of the bumper i cut out & push it down to desired depth so i had a "smooth" surface to mount this in, like kitt had originally.
i will build kitt in its true form one day, just gotta get the $$ and find the proper donor vehicle.
now im tempted to make the fiero into a mini kitt...

OUCH!! i know they match the original, but dang those lights are expensive, ebay has listings for them @ around 50.00 a little more reasonable IMO & some have the option for what i'm lookin for. what do you all think of the light bar thuogh? think it would look nice on the car? (i couldn't picture it in my mind, hence why i asked for a photoshop

You'd have to be careful when you got your car inspected, or to make sure it didn't light up while driving - some states/jurisdictions would consider it a form of fire/rescue/public safety emergency lighting and could ticket you for improper/illegal use. (akin to using a red or blue flshing light on your dash or behind your grille).
LOL, i had them on my car in high school and for a couple years after. Never had a problem, then I moved just out of the city in a subourb and got a ticket the first day I lived there and he made me diconnect it on the roadside. If you want to be legal use amber or white, maybe color changing for show.

MCK is good but they are quite expensive. My friend owns a fully completed KITT replica so I've seen how much drain the scanner puts on the car battery. He's installed 2 normal car batteries under the hood and a really big battery in the trunk cavity for car shows. This is using the normal MCK incandecent scanner.
I'd recommend: http://www.knight-f2k4.com/ as they sell the LED scanners and they also come with some other cool features like a remote control and different modes for the scanner (MCK one only can be adjusted inside with a knob to make it go faster/slower).
Cool to see someone trying this with a Fiero. I've wondered what it would look like and your car has exactly the right look too. Better yet, it's actually a Pontiac. Some people have built replicas out of other cars such as this one in Singapore ---

i've always been a knight rider fan, and saw the fiero as kind of what kitt maybe should have been, with an engine swap and some bodywork the Fiero could make a pretty nice KITT replica

Cool idea, but don't get in trouble for it.
Yup. What he said. Having any red lights on the front of your car is illegal in almost every state on a non-emergency vehicle.

There are actually a tonne of fiero KITT modifications out on market dashes with digital guages, fat B&W CRT screens, even modern colour with LCD, the airplane steering, and of course the infamous KITT flashing lights. Do a search through the archives are there are a lot of threads on this, KNIGHT RIDER KITT etc.
