I love my Fieros but I had a 64 1/2 convertible 260 v8 many years ago and I would trade all four of my Fieros to get it back in as good of condition as when I sold it. Of course I would also buy another Fiero

The rear leaf spring hangers have a nasty habit of rusting thru inside the trunk. Then you have a free lowering job that handles like crap. Ive seen it to some extent on almost all mustangs with leaf springs. I had a 66 fastback and they sat against the inside of the trunk lid. No biggie though I traded a guy a go-cart for it.

I have started with lesser cars than that, but I have also regretted it later. Check the floor carefully as these cars do NOT have a conventional frame and the floor pans make up the structure of the car through the center. Also look carefully in the engine compartment in the front corners where the front subframe comes together, another well know spot for rust to rear its ugly head. Same thing in the trunk. You should also be aware that the trunk floor IS the top of the gas tank, bad rust could spell disaster. As she sits right now, I dont think it is worth $1000.00. Just my opnion though. I have seen ones here in better shape than that for $1000.00.
Good Luck! Hope some of this helped.

I don't think you could flip that for more than $300 and you would have to find the right person. I expected it to be in bad shape but thats pretty bad. If you have room and you got the 84 for nothing then do it and clean it up, cleaned up you may get $600 for it but there are better project starters for $4000 that need a lot less work
I expected a nice restored car too. This one is barely a usable parts car. If it runs, its worth $500-$1000 maybe. Keep your Fiero. You see all the rust, now imagine all the rust you dont see.
Just for starters from what I see in pics it needs at least one fender, one quarter panel, drivers door, windshield, roof (including A pillars and sail panels), grill and trim, complete interior......

Pokey fiero. You have my full attention. I saw the red 88 chris did for you. Trade you. Yes I know I will be ripping my self off. I mean a 65 mustang for a fiero. We all know the 88 are notorious for catching fire

Looks like a bucket of rubble of a 'stang. I'd pass on that one...Lotsa sin hiding just waiting to ruin someone's day Funny, it started out sounding like a interesting deal.......My 2¢...Mike

I noticed the wire from the coil to the center of the distributor is missing, no doubt as a theft prevention measure against the thousands of people who'd otherwise drive off with this smooth running "restored" Mustang (and put it over a cliff).
I don't believe I followed this thread just to see a pig in a poke. I've seen picked clean carcauses in the junk yard with more value. I was expecting a pristine Mustang with a chipped windshield. OMG !!

Be cheaper to order a new repo chassis and body from Year 1 than to fix that one. You could spend $20K on it fixing it and still only have a car worth $10K.
Reminds me of a few years ago when one of the girls bought herself a little MGB fixer-upper cheap and thought it would be cheap to fix for a nice cute driver. I looked it over, her dad could do the mechanical work so I just looked at body. It needed floor pans, 2 front fenders, 2 doors, 2 quarter panels, and a hood and trunk lid... Looking up aftermarket body parts I gave her an estimate of maybe $8,000-$10,000....Some things are just not worth it.

WTF is that?? Keep your Fiero, that car is not worth anything. The market for straight 6 Mustangs with no options is pretty low. It’s got no accessories AND the roof & pillars are rotted out. Typically the floor will rot out because the cowl will collect leaves and crap, then rot out leading to water leaking onto the floor….then that rots out. But the roof???!!!! That’s very bad and hard to fix, can’t buy replacement parts for that! Floors are easy and cheep to fix, just lots of time. I’d take it for free as a parts car but you can find way better deals than that if you are looking for a Mustang. How do I know? Well at the moment I have a 1964-1/2 convertible in my garage (waiting to be restored) that I got for less than $500 with a truck load of NOs & Repro parts. If you know old Mustangs, that’s a cherry to have in any condition. I saw the add, called the guy and said SOLD without ever seeing it. It has the typical Mustang issues of rusty floors and trunk but for less that a grand you can get all new sheet metal, lots of time and it'll be worth an easy 10k. I also have a 1967 coup that is in my driveway, (waiting for the Fiero to come out so it can go back in). That car is a running straight 6 with the 3spd, PS, PB AND factory AC, that one I got for $250 a couple years back. I got it to practice welding on before attacking the 64-1/2 For that one I got 2 new repro floor pans, 2 full rear quarters, trunk, taillight panels, & wheel wells all for about $600. It’s in typical rough 60’s mustang shape but is WAY better than that thing. That car there is shot. I don’t even see any good parts on it…other than maybe the dash or possibly the motor if you want a 6 banger. There are lots of places that sell replacement parts for Mustangs (10 to 1 compared to Fiero stuff) and they are relatively cheep if you want to restore one but to buy a Mustang to turn around and resell for a quick profit, l…that aint it! Just my 5 cents worth, keep the Fiero and run from that!!!
Id be really curious why he considered it ' restored '. My Coronet is restored. I stripped it from bumper to bumper and put it all back together with mostly brand new parts. It looks and drives like a brand new car.

Someone offered me a restored 65 mustang for my 84 fiero. All it needs is glass. I hate mustangs with a passion but I might be able to sell it and make some money.
Obviously he CAN'T SELL that POS. He's hoping to dump it on you.

Anyone describing that vehicle as "restored-except for the glass" would lose all credability to me. Now...what's the story on the Opel GT sitting next to the 'stang?
