A second owner, non-smoker, almost all original car. When it was bought from the dealership they had already put on an over the roof scoop...so it isn't 100% factory but exactly as it came from the dealer (tires, tune up, belts, hoses, and fluids are all different of course). The VIN is 1G2AF37R7EP271682. I will post up pics when I get there as I want to get some good ones! I will be going out to PHX on Friday night after work...driving back to Forida with her starting Sat morning. If anyone is about the midpoint in the trip or further on the Florida side of it I sure could use a place to crash and a warm meal as well as some Fiero chat. It looks like somewhere between San Antonio and Houston would be great.
Also, if there is anyone along the route that would like to pass a phone number for the unforseen "just in case" emergency it would be greatly appreciated. I am really excited! Can't wait to get there!

The link you posted is for a gold 86? Regardless, if you have trouble between PHX and El Paso, you can call me. I'll pm you my number. Maybe we can get together for a quick photo op or something to eat on your way through El Paso. I'd love to see your new toy and meet up with you. I'm sure I could get all the El Paso Fiero nuts to meet up with you too. Let me know!

Good luck and nice find. Hope you have no problems on your return trip. I'm a little out of the way for a just in case phone call or a plce to crash, but I will say be careful and have a safe trip.

Katatak that would be awesome!!!!! Could have a meal with you guys then an escort out of town! That would be really cool! Also, if you are heading to Daytona my house is open and we have 5200 sq ft of space for visitors along with a load of parking! About 8 hours to Daytona from here so an easy day drive.
Thumper, thanks for the good wishes. Hopefully, since the car is maintained it will be unnecessary. But if i didn't plan it then for sure it would happen!

Johnny....you're only about 6 hours from PHX to El Paso....Pat will get us all rounded up and we can grab lunch on Saturday. Of course it goes without saying that, heaven forbid you have trouble, we are here to help. There's nothing that can break on it that one or all of us can't fix. Keep us posted on your plans. Congrats on the Indy, I am quite jealous
Thanks for the helpful words of support guys...keep throwing good energy at it! Hopefully since we planned a breakdown scenario it won't happen. I will post pics as soon as I get there, take some, and upload them onto my computer. Of course I will be taking a laptop with me so I can load them immediately! I'm very excited about this one considering the last snafu that happened. I was about to leave to go pick up an Indy that needed reassembly (for the same price as this one I might add) when the current owner called at 3 am and changed the terms of the deal! Amazing!
I am 500 miles east of El Paso, but I have two overnight shifts this weekend. Good luck on your trip. It is 1200 miles from my house to Port St Lucie, Fl. I drove that July 1st 2009. Joe Crawford

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone. Also, thanks to all who are willing to meet up, stand at the ready to help, or put me up for the evening. I can't tell you how much it means to me. Our little community is fantastic at supporting each other...I think that is one of the draws for us! Anyway, I came up with an itinerary of sorts so here goes:
Payson, AZ to El Paso, TX - 408 miles Rudolph Cheverolet to meet up with Pat and the club there for lunch followed by an escort out of town
El paso, TX to San Antonio, TX (actually Selma) - 565 miles Overnight with Paul and familiy
Selma, TX to Lafayette, LA - 410 miles Lunch somewhere, unknown
Lafayette, LA to Navarre, FL - 337 miles Home Finally!!!!!
This is the plan...of course this plan is adjustable due to mechanical breakdowns, nuclear bomb explosions, or unplanned pregnancies. This plan does not include taxes as those are the responibility of the grand prize winner...or something.

Been there while I was stationed in Texas. Also, the Alamo. We went to a cave somewhere between Del Rio and San Antonio where the bats come out of nightly as well. There are so many that they actually show up on radar.

Good thing the spoiler has nice down force at speed huh?
Heheh. Glad you enjoyed it.
And naw, not quite his wingman yet, I was just standing on my roof, he was flying waaaay too low. I guess the spoiler has too much downforce for that lousy rustbucket jet.

I talked to John this morning at 8am. He is on his way in the Indy. Should be here in El Paso around 2:00ish. He reports that the car drives smooth and easy - set on cruise at 70 mph. You could here the "Excitement" in his voice. We'll post up some pics of our gathering this afternoon.

Well folks, John landed in El Paso about 1430 safe and sound. We did a little get together and photo op at Rudolph Chevrolet, and then on to lunch. Unfortunately a couple of our local members cars were down at the moment, so the pics are just John's very clean Indy, Pat's Formula, and my 2M8. The Indy is in exceptional condition.
So....without further adieu....let the pics commence. Pat will have more to come as soon as he gets home. I won't bother to caption everything, you all know what you're looking at. Excuse the quality...my digital camera is ancient.

John rolled into El Paso around 2:30. We met up and poured over his new toy. Some of the El Paso Fiero nuts showed up too! We had Rick 88, Frialefrak, Jan and I. I have to say that John picked a good one. It is obvious that this Indy has been well cared for. The car looks great. After some pics, we headed over to Rudy's for some BBQ and then John was on his way. We held him up for a few hours but it was great to meet him and see his Indy.
Other than a little Arizona dust, it's pretty clean!
And a few parting shots.
Thanks for taking the time and stopping for a break John. Hope to see you again. Never know about Daytona!
Pat

We were all quite impressed with the car. Very minor details and it will be sorted 100%. Enjoy the trip home John, it was a pleasure meeting you. Have a safe trip and enjoy that Indy
Keep us posted as you make your way home.
