As a parent it is very hard to loose a child as it has been mentioned before. It is hard to loose a fellow Fiero lover. You all have said many great things. So I will not repeat them. I believe our Lord had a purpose for Tyler. One which we don' t and may never understand, BUT LOOK at how it brought together his community! LOOK at the great things Tyler's illness brought about in his town, his school and his church. LOOK how it brought together the Fiero community! LOOK at the media's response and how it made many people in this troubled world feel that there is indeed hope for man kind. Tyler may you rest in Jesus arms now with out pain and thank you for what you were able to accomplish while you were with us!

What an amazing experience. Tyler touched so very many people because of one unselfish act by a member of our forum, and America's Armed Forces. Words do not describe the joy I felt while all of this transpired. I look at things differently. I take more time to asses a situation. I enjoy life more. This experience has bettered me, and will leave a lasting impression on my way of life. For that, I thank you all.
Tyler, may you spend your time in heaven enjoying days without pain. May you forever smile down upon your loved ones, and protect them in time of need. Thank you, for touching the lives of so many in positive way. May your spirit live on forever.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
quote
1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.
quote
2 Timothy 1:8-10 So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, who has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
I wish also to say thank you to those on the forum who made his, and his families lives that much happier through your kind words and actions. May God bless you all!

Services for Tyler Shipman will be held on Friday, February 19th at 2PM at the Frazee High School in the auditorium.
Visitation is from 4-8 PM on Thursday February 18th at the St Paul's Lutheran Church on Hwy 87 outside of Frazee. Address coming soon.
Furey Funeral Home is handling arrangements, and can be contacted at: 33832 State Highway 87 Frazee, MN 56544 Phone Number: (218) 334-2461
They are working with Laurie's (or Lori's) Floral in Detroit Lakes to handle the floral arrangements. I will be contacting them to determine whether they can provide the floral display that is listed in the Floral threads. If so, I would like to keep things local to the area.
Services are open to all who would like to attend, as is visitation.

DiyStu spoke to Ashley, and she says that 1800 Flowers does not have a local shop in that area, and that flowers would have to be shipped in if ordered through them. Thus the decision was made to have a local florist take care of it for us. I spoke to Val's on the phone, and they are going to do up a very special arrangement for us, all in Yellow.
Many thanks to those who have made donations already. If anyone else is planning on making a donation, please try to do it soon, so we can take care of everything in time for the service.
EDIT: Chirs, I was typing my message at the same time as you were looks like As I am taking care of the the arrangements for the flowers and donations, I had already been in contact with Val's florist early this morning. She has contacted her wholesaler to assure that they would have the yellow flowers in abundance for the arrangement.
I am really sorry for the confusion, and why I honestly wanted to start the thread yesterday when I spoke to you on the phone. I had talked to DIY_Stu, and we had the idea to set up donations for flowers. I cleared my PayPal account to zero just to keep track of the donations. I gave DIY_STU my Paypal username and password to ensure that things are 100% legit by having someone else be able to know the donations coming in and the total of them. Once this was all taken care of, I then posted all of the information for the donations in Tyler's build thread. After this was all done, I called to just let you know that this was all set up and in place. As I was speaking to on the phone I told you I was just starting a new thread just for the donations, as not everyone followed the build thread. You then asked me not to start the thread, because you wanted to start it.
Again, many thanks to those that have made donations. For those that have not, and wish to, there is still time. If anyone has any other suggestions as to the floral arrangement, please PM me. This is from all of us, so anyone that has a suggestion or idea, please let me know.

I spoke with Lori at Lori's Floral. She is willing to build us the Yellow funeral spray for the costs of the materials and flowers, and will donate her labor for the build. She said doing so would be an honor, because of the hard work and the effort that all of us put into the Car for Tyler.
Is Lori's Floral the 1800flowers company where you send donations??
Is Lori's Floral the 1800flowers company where you send donations??
No no no no no
There is no way that 1800 flowers or Lori could keep track of donations, or ensure in any way that any donations could be accounted for.
Please use the PayPal link in the first post in this thread. When the donations are closed off, I will pay for the flowers with the PayPal Master Card for this PayPal account. All money above the cost of the flowers will be turned into a Certified check and given to the Shipman family. This is 100% legit, and DIY Stu has full access to my Pay Pal account being used use for donations. This is simply to ensure that 100% of all money donated is accounted for. When everything is completed, I will be making a post thanking everyone, and giving a total of the donations collected of what the check being to the Shipman's is for.

Gosh I cant even imagine, Ive never met Tyler but I feel like Ive known him these last few months just from reading what the community has done for him. I wish I could have been there for the build, I would have loved nothing more than helping him realize his dream before passing on, he is only a few years younger than me.
Im sitting here at work after everyone left, the lights are off and Im scouring PFF for the latest when I come across this thread. As soon as I saw those words in the title I am sitting here crying like a little schoolgirl in the dark by myself. I tried to read the Jalopnik article but I have to stop for now, its too heartbreaking.
My prayers go out to his family
I have to leave this thread now, Ill be back later.
Synthesis I do understand but with all due respects ... without PFF this would of remained an unfulfilled dream ....and if I'm reading this right we are collecting funds from THIS site for the flowers... and PEGASUS is not known as related to the Fiero as you may think .... just google search Pegasus and you will see ....

Lifelong Frazee resident, Tyler Shipman (18), lost his earthly battle with cancer at his home in Frazee and went peacefully to meet his Heavenly Father on February 14, 2010.
Tyler Jay Shipman was born to Jay and Daneele (Stoll) Shipman on July 18, 1991, at Dakota Hospital in Fargo, ND. He attended Frazee High School as a senior until his illness. Tyler was baptized at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes, MN on September of 1991, and confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Evergreen, MN on April of 2007.
Tyler was a very active young man who loved life. His favorite hobbies were snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, riding his ATV, and hanging out with his friends. One of his favorite past-times was fishing with his dad and brother Carter. He also worked very hard with his dad building up their business, Shipman's Tree Service. Tyler loved cars, especially Pontiac Fieros, and was fortunate enough to see his pride and joy fixed up to pristine condition in the last months of his life. He loved to drive fast and race anything with anyone. He recently began to take up RC remote control car racing and also completing model car kits. He smiled a lot, laughed a lot and was a blessing to those who knew him well. In the last months of his life battling cancer, he taught us all about bravery. His life was made better by the friends and family who surrounded him, and we will be forever changed for having Tyler as a part of our lives.
Surviving Tyler are his parents Jay and Daneele (Stoll) Shipman of Frazee; sister Tiffany (21) of Grand Forks, ND; brother Carter (10) of Frazee; sister Cassidy (8) of Frazee; grandparents Dean and Louella Shipman of Detroit Lakes, MN; grandfather Ray Stoll of Osage, MN; grandmother Joyce Cass of St. Cloud, MN; great-grandfather Rome Villard of Detroit Lakes, MN; great-grandmother Erna Cass of St. Cloud, MN; aunts and uncles, Kay (Shipman) Graham, Calvin and Tamra Shipman, Eugene Shipman, Shane and Krysteen Hjulberg, Dovie DiNicola; first cousins, Joe Callahan, Amanda Callahan, Josh Graham, Derek Shipman, Kristin (Andrew) Schock, Jesse Shipman, Kari Shipman, Joanna Shipman, Allison Hjulberg and Andrew Hjulberg and also many other great aunts, uncles and generations of cousins.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Charles Cass, Dallas and Vivian Lindsay and Mabel Villard.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 19, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., at the Frazee High School, Frazee, MN with Reverend Anthony Cloose officiating. Casketbearers will be Tiffany Shipman (sister), Nathan Schumann (friend), Joe Lingl (friend), Derek Shipman (cousin), Jesse Shipman (cousin) and Kari Shipman (cousin), and Honorary Casketbearers will be Carter Shipman (brother) and Cassidy Shipman (sister). Though I never had the privilege to meet Tyler, I am saddened by this loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Thank you to those who are taking care of the flowers for us from afar!
