There is no reason to thank me, all I did was open my PayPal account to accept the donations. Many people voiced what the they would like the flowers and the card to look like. The flowers were paid for by many many different people, many that are members of the forums, and many that are not. I am just very happy with how they turned out. Val's flowers did an amazing job IMHO.
Donations have started to slow down now, so I will let it go for a couple more days, then I will get the total out for everyone to see. I think everyone will be happy with the total.

The love and compassion every one of you have shown a family you never met before all of this started is the most amazing inspiring gesture I have ever witnessed. Tomorrow morning I will head north to the town in which you all have made part of your own. I am honored to be able to say I know you all, and thank you all for being some of the most upstanding human beings I have ever had the honor of knowing. I will bring you all with me in spirit to say goodbye to our friend…. Resting in peace and harmony.
Love Always, Ashley

By the way, if anyone still wanted to make a donation, please do so soon, as I will be cutting it off here in the next day or so. It's gonna take a few days to get the money transfered from the PayPal account into a cashiers check to send to the family. DIYSTU and myself will then share the total with everyone.
Ok, I have been holding up pretty good till now, that video on Tyler's page did me in..... wow.... that is an absolutely amazing collage, and put to the most amazing and perfect song......
This verse in the song really spoke to me:
The world's so big it could break your heart And you just wanna help But not sure where to start so you close your eyes Send up a prayer into the dark
Who on the forums put that video together? I would love to have a copy of the original resolution video before it was reduced by YouTube.....

Today we laid a son, a brother, a friend to rest. It was very emotional, and there were a lot of people there. The bleachers were full in the gymnasium, and the floor chairs were packed.
I would estimate upwards of 400 people were there. That seems like a low estimate to me.
The service was beautiful, and the drive from the school to the church and cemetery was astounding. I came around a corner, and could NOT see the front of the very closely packed line of cars a mile in front of me.
Mary Olson, one of Tyler's teachers had these words to share with us, before she read the family's thoughts.
Hey - I bet some of you figured you wouldn't have to listen to me today - but - I've got some numbers for you, for all of you, that are pretty astounding:
The number of visits to Tyler Shipman's Caringbridge site - almost 96,000.
The number of entries on his Caringbridge site - almost 1,700.
The number of people who in not even one week joined the Facebook page "In Memory of Tyler Shipman", created by a friend - almost 1,200.
When Tyler's mom heard those numbers she said, "That's WILD!!! That's just crazy!!"
But - that's not all. According to Danyel Potvin, webmaster of Tylerstoy.com - the Fiero website:
The number of views on that site is about 79,000.
The average number of views per day is over 3,000.
The number of active members on Tyler's Fiero Forum is over 8,000.
The number of views to all of the Tyler threads is over 135,000.
The number of people linked directly to the Tyler Project - the rebuild of that yellow dream car - is over 550.
The number of people affected by the Tyler Project - approximately 250,000.
And, he added, the number of people is has taken to restore their lives, just one. That of Tyler Shipman.
There has to be something extraordinary about Tyler Shipman that so many people, many who have never even met them, feel so drawn to him, his family and his friends.
The journey with them over the last few months HAS restored lives. It has changed great people into even better people. It has gotten all kinds of goodness out of a tough, sad situation.
The kindness, courage, amazing grace, and just the right amount of mischief of a regular Frazee boy and his family and friends has turned into an awesome testament of love and faith.
I have the honor of sharing messages about Tyler to you, from his family.
From Daneele to Tyler:
From the moment the blessing of your life began within my body, you grabbed a piece of us with tightly held fists. We watched as you grew with joy and pride. We fixed up scraped knees, dried tears, and anxiously watched you climb trees. With each new stage, you never ceased to amaze us.
We helped you blow birthday candles, and open Christmas presents. We helped you ride your bike, and watched you buy your first car. You worked so hard to be just like your dad and before our eyes grew to be a very good man.
A life measured in memories, not by hands of a clock. A life made priceless because of the person you are. It's so hard to watch you go through so much pain, to watch cancer tear down what, as a family, we made.
But not prouder parents are there than us, as we watch you continually look forward with trust. Though at times scared and angry, your bravery always prevails. Your spirit, your laughter, your strength are like wind in our sails.
The journey you began on this earth is now at it's end, too quickly time steals the days we have left.
We don't know the why or the how, but God must have a plan.
You were loved from the first, you were loved until the last. As the sunshine fades on this life began here, and our earthly arms must let you go, take Jesus' hands. He will lead you home.
For this is not goodbye, beloved son, this separation is not forever.
We will keep a piece of you close to our hearts, think of you often, and mourn your lost presence.
But most of all, we will keep an eye to our future when our arms once again will find you in heaven.
So, until we meet again, keep tightly that piece of us which has been yours from the start, and as we feel God's hands around us, we know we will never be far apart.
Not only was Tyler my oldest son, he was my co-worker. When we worked together, he always knew what I needed and expected. We were in sync like we had worked together forever. He was a hard worker who didn't complain. When out on the job, many people complimented me on how I had such a strong, hard working young man who I should be very proud of, and I was. I wish I would have taken the opportunity to tell him that more often. I just want you all to know what an awesome son he was to me.
We played as hard as we worked, we loved to fish together, hunt, ride snowmobile, dirt bikes, street bikes and four wheelers. We loved to compete with each other. We could often be heard having friendly discussions on who was the fastest, baddest, and best at anything we did. More often than not, Tyler would win and he loved to be one up on the old man.
He was a terrific big brother. He was often found helping his little brother and sister outside learning new things. Carter learned many things from his brother, who he himself will tell you is his hero. The things he learned are things he will take with him the rest of his life, like working on motors and enjoying the outdoors. He was helpful to his mom, including putting in a dining room floor when he was 12.
To sum it up, Tyler was my best friend, and also a very important part of our family. He will be greatly missed by his father, mother and siblings, as well as anyone who knew him.
From Carter:
He was my best brother and it was hard to lose him. I will be different now that my brother is gone to heaven. He was my hero because he did stuff with me.
Last but definitely not least, from Cassie:
My brother Tyler was always there for me. He sometimes made me giggle. He is a good brother. He is a sweet, adorable and very generous kid. I love him so much. He's lovable and huggable person. He must have had a very lucky Valentine's day. I love him even when he was crabby. Love Cassie.
Mary finished with the following:
A week or so ago, one of Tyler's best friends said that Tyler made it easy for them to visit throughout the last few months. Tyler never complained, never quit smiling, and he absolutely lived until he couldn't live any longer - at least not in this world. I am quite sure that heaven is a livelier place - and more beautiful with his arrival there.

I'm happy Mary took my stats..... I thought the numbers spoke for themselves, but the most important that I told her was .....like Knight Rider theme " One man can make a difference " and I think it resumes well the whole thing one man gave us our lives back .... GODSPEED TYLER !

Maybe this should be posted in the tech area but ...
is there any fix to the "leaking eye syndrome" I am afflicted by every time I read something new here?
Seriously - I will count it an honor when the day comes that I get to shake Tyler's hand in heaven. I have never felt touched so deeply by one person as I have been by Tyler and his family. My regret is that I wasn't able to do anything more then to keep him and his family in my prayers and every thought. I think I speak for everyone here when I say that if I could have done anything to relieve one second of Tyler's pain I would have done it willingly.
I read Tyler's first post within hours of his posting it. My first though was "oh sure - just another person trying to get some free parts for his car". I was so use to seeing the bad side of humanity that I just could not except his request as anything other then a scam. Now, thanks to Tyler I have had the chance to see that people are good. I have also learn that one person, no matter how uneventful their life may appear, can impact thousands of lives around the world. Through his mother's messages I have began to find new faith in God's leadership. Despite never meeting him, I can honestly say that because of Tyler I will never be the same person I have been for the last 58 years.
Tyler may have left this earth but he will never leave our hearts.
