The GS thing was cool when hardly anyone did them. Now that they are like barb wire tatoo's they are almost silly.

Use some real thought and look around for an idea that is original. Look in to old race cars from the 60's for some unused ideas. Even late 50's. They are the ones people notice and respect.

I like the GS thing but it is just kind of over done today. Besides it is really an old Chevy racing thing not a Pontiac. .

I really like them. I only see them on actual GS's and a few C5s though, I dont know what you mean by "overdone"...

That looks good but I wouldn't want anyone to confuse it with something they saw on a new Dodge commercial.

While they may not be to everybody's taste, I and Paul McKibben of FieroSails created a set for my car to personalize the car a little more. Yes it is an old idea, but our cars are pretty darn old. A lot of people who have seen my car at cruise nights, first looked at the stripes with a disgusted look, but it brought them back to the engine compartment, and were shocked by what they saw. They did a complete 180 opinion about the stripes, and commented " Now those stripes make some sense ". It may be a " Chevy " thing, but that's what's pushing my car.
