Stu, I am hoping you are planning on stopping over here in KC on your way up so we can caravan together. I may be solo depending on my wife's schedule but with or without her I will be there again next year!

Wow you are going through Grand Rapids! Let us know when ( time of day) and may be we can have some fellow Fiero owners escort you. We have some great people in Muskegon also! And I would be remiss not to mention the great people in the Capital City Club.

Danyel... I hope you realize how slow and expensive that Lake Michigan ferry ride will be... Why wouldn't you drive straight across the upper peninsula of Michigan?

The ferry in Muskegon is the fast one! The slower but less expensive ferry is the
Badger sailing out of Ludington and heading north to Manitowoc Wisconson. The UP doesnt have an expressway(interstate). Not to many main roads in the UP. Of course that is what makes the UP so special. I would imagine that they plan to use the ferry as a R & R time for the trip.

Infinite Are you planning to stop in MSP or straight to Frazee as I am. This year I will be planning on taking your preferred route so that helps. So as I see it if I leave My place at 10pm I can be to your door about 8am. actually measures out to about 7am. I know I'll be to ansy to nap so 9pm daughters normal sleep start time, which will put me there around 6am so that gives me 2 hours to locate you, eat breakfast of some sort then head out. 10am depart from your place would set us due to arrive around 8pm in Frazee... Oh yeah FIEROs make that 7pm. Tents up in 30min then we can kick back..... Or help Nellie!

There are a bunch of Camp Shipman pioneers who are eager to set up Thursday evening. There are others who won't be able to make it until that Friday. There was a lot written, by forum members and by Frazee citizens about the thrill of the caravan of Fieros that that formed in the Twin Cities and made their entrance in Frazee. My guess is there will be more cars converging on Frazee from more states than last year. Synthesis picked a spot, time and date where the 1st convoy formed, everyone said hello and headed north. That should be repeated, could be the same place, to form up both for Thursday for the early campers and Friday for the "normal" people. What do you think about that idea? Something to add to the weekend?

The trick is the Thursday group are going to be spread out. I won't be arriving until 8pm or a little earlier. more or less. Other Thursday people may get there earlier. The main thing to REMEMBER is Thursday you're on your own. Meals etc. The caravan was fun... BUT if I'm in Frazee already I'm not going to drive 4 hours away just to drive back, however I may try to stay in communications with said caravan then take a scenic trip to a location that they will be coming through. This way I can then merge into the caravan to enter with the group and make it bigger, take pics etc etc. Others may have the same complications or not.

As far as the drive up goes... If you need assistance or a guide Sure why not I'll delay. If it's a because I want to drive up with you... Well better be on time. If I were to delay for 30 minutes for lets say 6 people each just to make a larger caravan, it's going to make putting up my tent a much bigger chore. Believe me I've tried.

Do we need to set up the live feed from Camp Shipman? That way we have a watch guard? If it had audio.... Nevermind they'd turn off their speakers because of the repetitive sounds.

I plan on leaving very early thurday morning (like 3a.m.) and would be arriving late Thursday night. I can't quite figure out why, but it takes us an average of about 18 hours to get to frazee from Indianapolis.

Any "Mid-westerners" wanna caravan together? We travel west into illinois and shoot north from there.

I couldn't make it to the show this year so I am DEFINITELY planning on making it in '11, especially since I will be out of country for my usual trip to the Dells Run! Must. Get. Fiero. Fix.

Danyel & co: It looks like with the route you are taking I could easily meet up with you in Eau Claire-- I live in Stevens Point which is only a couple hours away so it would be right on my way and a fun cruise to join you on! Nothin' like traveling caravan style with a crew of Fieros I have a friend who lives nearby who at that point should be complete with his Fiero build and I'm sure would love to come along. Additionally, my dad lives only 15 mins from the ferry in Milwaukee and if he is able to go, he could meet you there. This could be a HUGE caravan, I'm loving it! Would you be passing through the WI area on the 27th or 28th, then?

EDIT: fieroguy123, if meeting up with Danyel ends up being too early/not the right timing, I'd be happy to meet up with you! Or maybe the timing would be right and we could all cruise in together, haha! (I'll keep my fingers crossed.)

when you gotta go, you gotta go! No one said you gotta stop! Nah with a 200+ mile distance between fillups that's only about 3.5 hrs between stops. So don't drink a lot and you don't have to make extra stops.

Well. Stu doesn't need to stop for sleep, for apparent reasons!

I have dubbed this the "Long Haul Fiero Spice Rack"

And as for having to pee, Stu gets plenty of times to stop for that

Those 5 hour energy shots seem to have some ill side effects, note the phone in the left ear, and the BT headset in the right LOL

I don't think that was my phone I was holding... But if it was... then it just wasn't sync'd and the earpiece was force of habit. It's such a habit 3 years ago I had to edit my family christmas picture to take it off my ear.

OK yes that was my phone. Just blew the pic up. DAMMIT!
First 5hr power lasted about 4 hours, second about 3 third about 2 and the rest about 2. Most of those were empty and upside down when John started flipping them back over to get that shot. By the time I got to the lil store in Frazee I think I bought all they had.

Detroit Lakes Holiday inn 3 nights = $453 without discounts.
Spend that at Camp Shipman and we'll build you a Holiday Inn you can use FREE Next year.

Distance From Campfire to Holiday Inn Detroit Lakes 21.3 Miles eta 30 Minutes.
Distance from Campfire to Shipman Resort est. 50ft eta 20 seconds or 5 minutes if drunk and roll down hill first.

Ability to drink at Camp Shipman is great if you want and aren't DRIVING AFTERWARDS!

So do you want to stay at the Shipman's for a Minimal amount of money? Or pay $100-$141 to sleep in a bed for 7 hours?

Oh and about me being a Bully???!!! This goes out to All of you wanting to stay at the HOLIDAY INN instead of Camping. Jsut send me your Number and I can shoot down any excuse you've got in 5 minutes or less.

$453.00 would rent you a nice RV for the week out of Detroit Lakes. Depending how large (number you can sleep) the price goes up from there, but then you could look to split costs with others? It is not like you would be spending a lot of time in it anyway. I have done some preliminary looking. Possibly have the RV place deliver, setup, and pickup when done. I am also trying to talk my sister-in-law to bring her 28 ft RV up. She just completed a small restoration on her 1970 Mach 1 and I am trying to convince her to bring it to the show..

Dave and Karen offered theirs up last year. Not sure what it's like but the view would be nice out at the lake in FRAZEE.
I think I figured out the Weigle's. Andy wants to sleep anywhere, BUT at Camp Shipman! He must be scared what we might do to him.

I can picture Andy locked in the fish house, and Stuart standing outside.... "It rubs the lotion on its skin, or it gets the hose again! " LOL

And you'll be standing out there eating french fries off of your "meteorite" in your little red wagon.
