Will did an excellent job!

I had promised to post a final version and here it is. It's a combination of Wills and my first post, not intended to take the place of any other it's just my personal touch for me only. Of course if anyone likes it feel free to do what you want with it.

3 clicks to get the full size version.

Clem,

As far as I know we are done. I decided to not retouch the track because those cracks and repairs are part of it's character.

Will

Edit: just got off the phone with Jimmy and one of the car's was mis identified (the red GT behind randye) I will post a corrected file when I get to Helena, MT tonight.

I have been to CVS, Costco and just came back from Walgreens.
Not one of these places can do the track photo. They all do the usual photos up to 8x10.

If anyone has a photo of the track pic, where did you get it done?
Also if you can measure the overall size of the pic that would help.
I know Will said 5.5 x 24 inches but is that what you actually ended up with?

And the last question----how much did you pay for it?

LT1:

I had the same problem. I ended up going to a photo shop. (The guys that sell cameras and do professional work).

I paid $20 which was the same price Walgreens and Staples was showing to do a 20" X 30" poster. Picked mine up today. They did a great job.

Thank you for the quick reply. It looks like that will be the place to go.

I just got this reply from Walgreens

Thank you for contacting Walgreens.com customer service.
This is in response to your email regarding Walgreens photo
product information.

I apologize for the inconvenience, but currently at this time
Walgreens.com or the local Walgreens stores do not have the
availability to print panoramic photos. Please keep checking
back if this is a service that will be added soon.

I apologize again for the inconvenience and that I could not
assist you further.

Hey guys,

I have had 24" prints made a Costco several times but I guess I should have been more clear. The print itself will likely be printed on 24" x 20" paper with white border at the top and bottom that you will have to trim down when you mount the print.

I am going to drop a print off to Costco tomorrow and I will let you know how it comes out.

\/\/

Edit: As an FYI, I just got off the phone with my buddy that runs the Photo Dept at the Costco a few blocks from my house. They can print this file on 24" x 12" paper for $3.99 per print. Where this image is only 5.5" tall, if you are Photoshop savvy you can build a 2-up image and print them both on a single 12" print and your net is $2 each.

I did a quick 4 page print to play with, here it is before trimming. Just used regular paper.

Here's it trimmed up. (I know the professionals would made a better one)

I'm having problems with the downloaded pic. It shows a gray line at the bottom. Photoshop says it has been truncated or damaged. I'm I the only one?
I tried on two computers with same results. The first one I downloaded last Monday was fine. I guess I'll just print that one.

After going to CVS, Costco, Walgreen, Walmart, Sam's Club and BJ's, I give up.

Costco was the best shot as they do have a 12 x 24 for $3.99, but when my c/d is loaded into their computer an "error" message appears on the screen and shuts down.

I just came back from a "professional" shop and they can do it for $40.

Anybody have any ideas?

Does yours looks ok (no bottom truncated) on the computer? Photoshop gives me an error so maybe that's what they are getting too.

The latest revision has the gray bar at the bottom of the pic.

I sent Will a PM informing him of this plus the very first car to the left is Frank Martins wife
but her name is misspelled. He now has the correct spelling.

Hi Clem,

Thanks for the heads up. I too just downloaded it and it appears to be corrupted. I have reposted it and downloaded it to check the file. It is now correct and Marianna's name is corrected as well.

There is the possibility that Costco tried to download the corrupted version and that is why their computer showed an "error" when doing so.

Tomorrow after Miami's weekend car show (60% rain), I will try Costco's again.

Today's Miami Car Show was canx due to rain.

All Costcos are not the same. The one I went to today does not have the computer that the previous one had.

The previous one tried to use my corrupted (unknown at the time) chip so I was not successful.

I am not a member of Costcos so the $3.99 price does not apply unless I join and I am not going to.

Here's the way mine turned out from Southern Photo:

The problems I had with Walgreens, Staples etc. was they're set-up to take 4 X 6's or even 8 X 10's and make posters out of them. When I gave them the panorama, their computer wanted to chop out an 8 X 10 section and discard the rest! If you go online their poster pricing is pretty much the same $20.

If you can get a poster printed for $4 that's a heck of a deal. Southern Photo charged me $20, the same as Walgreens and Staples. They gave me extra white border so I could trim it as desired. I figured on getting one of those large, plastic poster frames, and printing some of my other pics regular size, and make a collage of the whole Florida Fiero 2010 weekend. I can even put in the track car plaque, SpaceCoast Fieros name tags etc.

Let me try to print mine at my Costco and I can give you one. I plan to do it this week now with the new file. I was planning to do more than two on the combined shot (two per page) so if you are not in a rush it will be there. Let me know.

It took some time, but with the help of my friend Angel (87GT2M6) I now have a print of the track photo.
Angel has a friend that works at Wolf Camera in South Miami so we paid him a visit and had two copies made.
Price was $6 each and well worth it.

Got mine printed last night at Costco. Actual picture borderless came out printed as 36" x 8.5" (36x12 paper) for less than $6. Anything less got trimmed at top or side. I tried the 24"x12" and didn't work. Maybe because I used Photoshop to put two in one or something else. But now I have a pretty nice big picture Now good luck finding a frame for that!

PS: Also found that different Costcos have different printers and thus the issue with some being able to print some sizes different than others.
