Well, I don't know how fast we will be going since we are bringing Marie's HHR. But thanks to Chris West, we will be stopping good! He just did us a set up with 13" Viper brakes..

I guess a good deadline brings people out. We have 23 cars registered for the Coast Run now and there are there are several who have hotel reservations but haven't registered yet. So counting all of those, we are going to have a good run. There is still time to get registered. You're going to miss a good time if you don't make it!
T-shirt received and hemmed--check. Tires pumped up--check. Gas tank full--check. Run-up complete and ready to roll! I'll have a couple of Jafra bags to donate for the raffle too. See you all next weekend!!

It's looking pretty grim here. I forgot about an IRS payment that was due today so the money situation has gone from bleak to abysmal. I'm going to work my butt off this weekend to rebuild the wallet, but I may not be able to come. The good news is I have until Wednesday to come up with gas money (that's when I need to leave Denver), so I have 5 solid days to come up with some money.

I think this means there should be at least 2 more Fieros!! Come guys! How many Fieros West members are coming?
It looks like no Fieros West guys are coming. I haven't heard from anyone down there anyway. But we have 3 or 4 from San Diego that are coming up. I am trying to get their schedule so you can join in with them if you want. We are going to have a pretty big variety of cars this year. Fieros will still be in the lead with what looks to be about 15. Then Sebrings, HHRs, a Jetta, a Cavalier, a Mazda, a Viper, and of course the Bugeye if Mike makes it and we hope he does.

Must be nice to be all prepared in advance! haha... I think my last minute all-nighters are legend now! And we are not even bring a Fiero this year and I still have lots to do! We always appreciate your Jafra donations, Jeannie. Has anyone heard from Deb? She usually comes and brings some candles from her daughter. I haven't heard anything from her this year and she is not registered.

Mike buddy, we are pulling for you. We are looking forward to seeing you again. I think money is tight all over so we understand. I think your loyalty to even try to come is admirable. We have lots of folks here in CA who have never been to the Coast Run because it is too far to drive. Hopefully folks will see that if you are willing to drive all the way from CO that they must be missing out on something.
Bump and just wanted to say that things are looking up. A few months ago I bought a pair of '71 Honda sedans with plans to restore them, but it will be years before I am able so I have them up for sale and it looks like they *might* be sold. That means I will have the $$ for this trip. I'll know more over the next day or two, but he sounded excited about buying them.

Hope you have a top this year, Mike. It is raining in Bakersfield today. Looks like it is supposed to be around 70 and partly cloudy in San Simeon this weekend.
I can deal with rain....I just hope I don't see any snow trough the Rockies!
BTW.....I had a top last time I went, I just prefer not driving with it up unless I have to. I think (but can't really remember) that I had it up the first night due to a rain storm. I do know that I had it up on the trip home through the Rockies.....it was freezing cold!
Anyway.....it's official. I have sold my two little Hondas so I will be making the trip! While I'm sad to see the cars go, I really need a good road trip to get rid of the blahs. See you guys on Friday.

Jeannie, are the Mezners not going to be able to join us? I haven't heard anything from them this year. Normally they send me a message to let me know if they are not going to be able to join us. What about Marty Wibert? Haven't heard from him either. Max and Janell... I called the Cuffneys. They are going to be out of the country. Lots of new folks this year but lots of regulars who are not going to make it.

Great! Drive safe and stay warm.
Dale, you brought up a lot of people we will miss!
Janell and Max, where are you? Haven't seen hide nor hair of those two!
We are in our final stretch of getting the car ready.
I am so excited about this years Coast Run. I spend Sunday washing and waxing the Mera for the drive. I can also say that waxing a car in the rain is not fun.
I talked to Max and Janell and they will not be making it this year. This weekend is the big trade show for Janells work and all hands must be in Vegas working the floor.
I will be filming this years run, but I will need more footage. Please bring your video cameras for me to get more footage.

Karl and Kristine were going to try to come for lunch, but their dog is having alot of trouble now and they can't leave her for very long. They will make a charity donation. Not sure about anyone else. Our mtg. is tonight, so maybe some will be there. I'll let you know.

Okay, well, I guess Brian and Margo were planning to come this time and Margo's ended up in the hospital. They're not sure what's wrong yet, but we're all wishing the best for her real soon. Deb and Barbie are coming, but neither were able to make the meeting, so I don't know when they're coming down and if they're hooking up w/anyone to caravan. Deb will bring some raffle items. Marty's had some other expenses and would like to, but can't make it this time. Shane might be able to get my cigarette lighter replaced tomorrow so we can use the GPS! I'm sure spoiled by that now! I don't know if anyone's bringing 2-ways either, but I'll charge mine up and throw them in. See you all soon!!

Thanks Jeannie. Deb and Barb are good to go! I will probably not bring radios this year unless I accidentally find them between now and Friday noon. I never have used them other than on the Coast Run.
We have 29 cars registered at this point. Gonna be a full house if everyone shows. Jeannie, if Karl and Kristine will know Friday evening if they are coming to lunch or not it will be helpful with the restaurant. I think everyone else is pretty much accounted for.
Don't know who all is going to meet us but we plan to be at the Arco in Paso Robles around 2:00PM on Friday. Looking forward to seeing everybody.
We are packing the car tonight. The only thing I still have to do is to install the camera mounts into the front end. I am even looking forward to what ever the weather is.

That's great! Shane worked on my cigarette lighter today and we think the GPS will work okay, so we're looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

Karl and Kristine can't make it this time. They'll donate online.

OK, Looks like I will make it for the Sat lunch in Big Sur. The escrow stuff is still dragging on.
JC, Do you want to drive down together Sat morning? I was thinking of taking off about 8AM so I can make it down to Big Sur in time, and even drive down alittle more and wait for the caravan to drive up. I'm in Santa Clara, so my plan is to drive down 101 to 156 over to Montery/Carmel hwy 1 and down from there. I'll drive back after lunch. Let me know.

Okay Lar, you know I'm not good in the morning, right??!! I'm hoping to be ready by or before 9:00 figuring we'd arrive at the Inn about 11:00 or 11:15--about the same time or maybe a few minutes before the group. To meet you by 8:00 we'd have to leave here by 7:30 and I'm sure I won't be ready by then! I could shoot for 8:30, but that's probabaly realistically the best I could do. We'll plan to go the same way. Go ahead and we'll see you at lunch!

Glad you'll be able to make it, Larry. I can PM you my cell # but there is not much service on the coast anyway. But you could try me and see where we are as you get close on Saturday morning.
We had planned to leave here around noon tomorrow and meet in Paso Robles around 2:00PM. After talking to several people today it looks like most people will not be ready to leave that early so we have backed it up to us leaving at 3PM and meeting in Paso around 5:00. For those who have never joined us, we meet at the Arco station at the Highway 46/Hearst Castle exit. The station is on the East side of the interstate.
I've got the Batmobile all polished up and ready to go. I'm really looking forward to this. I'm praying for some dry pavement going up 1. Much more fun that way. indydriver in L.A.

Wow! 29 cars? I'm having flashbacks of working at Avis rent-a-car back in the 80's and 90's when I was handed 2 crews of shuttle drivers to manage....and then told to take 30 cars from Boston, MA down to JFK airport in NYC. We did a little funeral trick with headlights being on and I had the last person following with a 2-way radio, so we could keep in touch. Maybe a stop a Wally world would be a good idea to pickup a couple personal 2-way radios?
Hwy 1 is gonna enjoy the convoy this weekend!! Me too! Top down in my 2001 Chrysler Sebring Convertible. Gotta give it a little wash before the trip tomorrow.
Looking forward to meeting up with everyone!

We got our first official donation to St Jude today! Thanks a lot!
If anyone would like to help out with a tax-deductible donation to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, the St Jude Coast Run page is HERE.
If you really want to help out, and win great prizes, hit the 'Register Now' button to sign up as a participant. Get your friends and co-workers to donate in your name and you can get some pretty cool St Jude logo stuff while you help out a great cause. Win patches, hats, t-shirts and more based on how much money you collect for the cause.
I just finished touching up the MERA and the final packing. My poor wife is going to have to share her seat with stuff as over half the trunk is full of raffle prizes.

We'll definitely be there tonight. The car didn't pass at the referee station (minor things) so I got a couple of one day moving permits for today and tomorrow. Just have to be careful on Sunday!
We're at a different motel up the street; the host motel was sold out by the time I was confident enough to commit to reservations.
Dale, I'm sorry I never got back to you about something for the raffle. We'll bring something up with us.
Later, Neil
