Would someone please enlighten this guy? http://fortwayne.craigslist.../cto/2031851016.html

I suggested he get on here and ask but he hasn't. He insists is has GT on both sides plus front, rear and steering wheel. No power windows and no diamond wheels.

Well, the seller is right. It IS a GT, but that Mustang is nowhere close to being an '87.

EDIT: I think this is the one that the OP was looking at:

I spoke w/ Amanda on the phone. She says she has received several email and phone calls telling her that it is not a GT. She says the title says 87GT and the sail windows say GT. She also says the motor is a V6. I asked her to add a picture of the RPO Codes to her listing. She was very nice and aggreed to do so.

My suspicion is that someone has made several changes to the car. If this is not the case then she truely has a "RARE" Fiero.

Someone could have put 85 GT sails on it. Could have also put in a V6. Or could have put a coupe body and wheels on a GT. But neither seem likely. When I blow the picture up I don't see an auxiliary gauge pod. I also don't see GT on the sails, at least on the side that is showing. Still looks like a nice car though.

Agreed. 87 4-cylinder coupe. Just has 85 GT sails (?) and front GT emblem.

Turn any Fiero into a GT with this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymot...fPartsQ5fAccessories

When I asked, the e-mail said it was a V-6. Obviously, not only do they not know what model it is, they don't know which engine it has. Makes you wonder if it's stolen or they're just, er--mis-informed.

Sound like typical "know nothing about cars" people... they can't do something as basic as count the spark plug wires??

They don't even have to count spark plugs. It says 4-Tech right there on it.

Doubtful that they are trying to fool anyone. Sounds like they just know nothing about cars. Possibly they were taken when they bought it. It does appear to be a nice car but that price is about $500-$700 too much for a stock coupe, even if it does have GT badges.

I sent her a pic of a REAL GT, explaining the differences. I sent her a way to decode the VIN. This was when she said it has a V-6. It just made her mad that I wasn't interested in it if it wasn't a true GT. Frankly, I think they really don't care what it is, as long as they can sell it. And of course, SHE says the title says GT. But it is TRULY too bad that after all the discussion, they won't admit to themselves what it ACTUALLY is. Let's face it. Some people are just block-heads.

That's funny. Out of all the Fieros I have owned not one has ever said GT on the title. As a matter or fact, they don't even say Fiero. They just say the year, PONT, and the VIN. I got my titles out of the safe to be sure. I have titles here for both CA and TN and neither say Fiero, much less GT.

Somethings not right, that has side molding & front & rear from a GT

Can somwone run the VIN ? 1G2PE1190JP216527

I question its an 88, Front rims have a deeper lip than an 88.

Now look at the back wheels... Another example of a twit with the front wheels on the back. I have seen them like this or with both the fronts on one side and the rears on the other. When you try to explain, they never knew the wheels were different.

This car is a Formula just as it says. It is just modified with aero panels. I had an 88 T-top coupe that was done exactly the same. People could never figure out what it was when it appeared to be a notchback GT but it had round moulding. It is a nice car but the price is too high in my opinion.

Except for the wheels, this "Forumula GT" looks a lot like the '86-'87 SE:

Frankly, I prefer the GT front facia to the one they used on the coupes in '87-'88. Of course, that might be because I have an '88 GT :-)

But the one in Dallas is STILL a great color!

More than two decades after the last Fiero was made, do you really expect them to all have their original body?

Anyway, I'm in lust with that Formula.
