I'm sure some of you know me by now as the crazy chick that loves to drive....
Well, I had recently purchased a Ford F350 Dually Diesel..... And I am looking to do some more crazy road trips with my co-pilot Shawn (also a member). If anyone needs anything hauled (I can only do one at a time) anywhere... send me a pm. I would be willing to obtain the proper commercial insurance if the demand for hauling proves to be worth the expense... otherwise I would be doing a favor, like blackrams.
I am not looking to interfere with anyone elses hauling deals.... and I can haul vehicles other than Fieros. I am willing to travel just about anywhere, provided I have ample notice to make necessary arrangements with my husband, bmwguru, and a babysitter.
Also, bmwguru has opened a part of his shop devoted to Fiero engine swaps. I could pick up the Fiero and haul it back to him.
I can guarantee the vehicles I haul will arrive at their destination very much sooner than most transport companies...
I am not looking to get rich.... I am looking forward to meeting many members.
I only ask that towing expenses are are covered... I can give a quote prior to even leaving my home... no obligation.
I just wanna be able to travel the country.... meet some cool Fiero people..... and maybe make a buck to help with costs of hauling.
Daytona show is coming up.... and show season in general is beginning....
Again... I AM NOT TRYING TO MOVE IN ON ANYONE ELSES TURF.... I just figured I get my name out there in the Fiero community....
If interested shoot me a pm...
Joey
P.S. I will not be hauling anything in my hooter's outfit (see girls w/o)... Sorry guys...
hell if i have your husband do my swap ill probabley have you pick my car up i dont trust it on long drives yet. only problem is no for hauls like a GMC.

I can vouch for Joey's delivery quality. She drove down from NJ to southern Maryland last weekend carrying a supercharged Bonneville for me - along with 5 kids. Well, bmwguru came, too, so make that 6 kids...
She wouldn't let me help her unload the car - or Dave either. She just told us to remain standing there jabbering about cars while she did all the work.
I can testify that Joey is one crazy-drivin' woman - in a good way. She loves to drive all day and all night. I have called her in the wee hours of the morning when I know she is out on a run. She was wide awake every time. She actually woke me up more than I did for her!
Som she knows cars and will take care of yours on the trip. I can't speak for her, but I bet she would make a trip as far as California if someone offered the gas money. I also bet she would do it in some kind of record time!
Her truck is awesome, too. You'd neverexpect to see her get out of that big azz truck!
Roll on, Mamma, Roll on Home!!

Were was this post last week??? I would have had you pick up the Fiero I bought from another member, Russ544, in Oregon, and drop it off at my shop in Tennessee. I'd much rather give my hard earned money to a forum member than a corporation any day. Oh well, maybe next time.

yeah, Joey would have gladly towed that out for you. She can strap down a Fiero with ease by herself. She tows my orange and black GT all the time. Here is another pic of her towing my Mercedes ML430 truck back from Florida the day she got the truck. She went down there with the Benz and an empty trailer and returned with her truck and the Benz on the trailer. Very Clever... Dave

Oasis Welding in Louisville, KY is a family owned and operated welding shop. The owner was selling a trailer on Craigslist for a ridiculous price but when I called him, it'd already sold. I was about to hang up when he offered to build me one, just like the one that he'd sold, for $800. It was an 8'x16', single axle trailer, built with all new parts and steel according to plans designed by an engineer. The owner called me once a day and kept me informed on his progress. The day before I was to pick up the trailer, he called to tell me that he'd gotten to thinking about how safe it would be to haul a car on a single axle trailer and that he was concerned for my safety. He said that the trailer was finished and that if I wanted to come look at it I was more than welcome to, but he asked me to reconsider my decision and go with the double axle. I told him I'd think about it and we hung up. He called me about 20 minutes later to tell me that he'd been looking on Craigslist and found an 8'x16' tandem axle trailer for $750 and asked me if I'd go look at it. I was blown away. Here was a man, in rough economic times, turning away guaranteed money because he knew the trailer I was asking him to build would not handle the load I was going to put on it. He even went so far as to find me a better deal and encourage me to take it.
The reason I say all this is, I honestly believe that this man is one of a dying breed. A businessman with scruples? Morals even? In this world of "who gives a rat's ass as long as I get my money", he turned down a guaranteed sale for fear of my safety. He even said, "I want you to get to New York in one piece and I know you won't do that with this single axle trailer. That'd be the dirtiest $800 I ever made and I'm not ready to live with that."
If you're interested in a larger trailer, maybe a gooseneck that could haul two, or even three cars, give Jeff Brosity a call. His number is 502-460-1620. Tell him "the single axle trailer guy" sent you.

Good score on the 7.3 btw. A superior choice relative to what followed it.
We were very particular about the truck we were looking for. We either wanted the Cummins or the 7.3. The newer Ford 6.0 and 6.4 didn't get rave results when I was researching the trucks. I guess I'll have to learn how to fix a non-german diesel. Dave

Great post, thanks for putting this info out there. I'll record that number myself. Though I already have a trailer that can and does haul two cars (gooseneck), it's always good to know where one can get reliable and honest work done. Thanks again.
Oh, BTW, Bump for Joey and Dave.

When I needed a motor shipped from WA to CA I used this site where people ( me ) placed what they needed to be shipped and the shippers ( you guys possibly ) would bid for it.
Overall the bids that I received were for the most part right about where I thought that it was going to be, and like always some really out to lunch. If your looking to get some miles on the new rig, I'd give it a whirl.

yay Alabama! anonymity please dont end up in a snowbank and then leave ur truck cab... would b a stupid thing 2 do. (this is from that song still for anyone who doesnt know it)
wow id like to meet the guy who built u the trailer, put the work steel and time into it, and then called you and told you NOT to buy it, and then found you a different one, for less than he was offering, with the tandem axle. we truly do need more people willing to do this, maybe then we would trust the buisnessmen more.
ill call you guys if i ever need something towed around for me, or recommend you to my friends/family if they do.

Joey, Here's a bump for your thread, transporting business and a suggestion. Start a thread in the Mall about your service. You can't use the title Fiero Transports, it's already taken but, do it. That way, you get some coverage and the folks you transport for can rate your service. Knowing you, you'll get all high ratings.
I sincerely wish you all the luck in the world. I don't consider you competition to me, infact, I believe you'll get more business due to your location on the east coast. I believe there are quite a few more opportunities with the greater population and density of vehicles there than KY and my surrounding area. Who knows, maybe we can hook up sometime and help each other out. Best wishes in your endeavor.

Ron,
Thanks for the bump and suggestions.... I think I'll keep this here for now, though.
I'm hauling a Fiero to NY from PA the weekend of March 20th. Maybe I should have someone snap some pics, for this thread, of me strapping the car to the trailer. Maybe that will help show that I kinda know what I'm doin.
I look forward to meeting up with you again, and possibly working with you. And I will definitely be coming around with the VR-6 Feiro when she's finished!!

Kinda surprised I didn't see the new truck at the shop earlier this week when I was out Maybe next time hehe
Might have some hauling myself for you guys to do in the future, depends on if I sell the Fiero or not...May even have something for you guys to pick up for the Fox if you aren't too busy and its not too much of a hassle. It'd be relatively local (within PA), so I would imagine it wouldn't be too expensive...
You guys ever need any help with anything for this, feel free to let me know... I could ride along on the longer hauls and put in a bit of driving for you if you guys would like...I'm used to driving large vehicles for long hours
BTW, ygpm Joey Quick question about something...

Here are some ideas to pick up some business. Lots of cars are sold at GM's at Carlisle and many need a ride home. Same at Englishtown and Hershey in fall. Jet let people know that you will be there. If you get moving around the country there are probably many engines that need to be picked up and delivered too. We pay about $250-$300 for truck freight for a crate engine and you could always carrry a couple along with a car. You can purchase two and four car carriers that will attach to that truck. The larger trailers are the third wheel type but they work well. Advertise on the various car forums " Chick w a truck will pick up and deliver your car with TLC. You can also do this in Hemmings Auto News You can plan trips cross country and deliver cars going each way. You can offer short hauling work taking project cars to the paint shop and back. I'm talking to someone here and its going to cost $75 each way to take my Fiero just 10-12 miles to the local shop

I'll take as many pictures as you want. No worries. Another chapter for the scrapbook of Fiero photos.
Had a very nice experience with Joey today. She did a very professional job of getting me loaded up and strapped down... I may have to find a different way to say that. But anyway, thank you for a very smooth affair with NO DRAMA. Cant ask for more.

I spoke with Joey a few hours ago. The car has been delivered with no issues and they are going out for breakfast. Joey, the kids and I had a great time at your place Rich. We'll have to get you out to our "Haus" next month. Dave

Thanks, Dave - we had a great time as well. My wife and I woke up laughing about the stories that were shared last night. I spoke to Joey a bit ago and all is well, and they are on their way home. Initial estimate is 2 weeks, but I am traveling on business from Tuesday until 4/3, and then am out again on 4/6 until 4/10. I may need Joey to bring it home again depending on how things come together.
