lol 7071 is likely going to be put back together bone stock with mera emblems and all. i have decided since it is a numbers matching car that still runs and drives i will just put it back together and put it on a shelf, 2story shop with forklift. i will however do my modifications to the suspension, brakes, tires/wheels, ls4 to getrag, and some other mods into the 88. thats the plan for now anyhow. 7071 will be put back together as a mera not a ferrari badged wanna be. currently it has ferrari badges and ferrari interior, i will take all that off and re use it in the 88. talk to you later dan, mike
I think this is a good idea as there are not that many stock Mera's left. If you want a little more oomph, you could install a 3.4 and still look completely stock.
If any of us could ever make up our mind for once the hobby would be finished. We would do it and be done.
A true custom car is never done, and can always be improved upon. The new 88 has no idea what's coming I think. I have a feeling it's gonna have the look,so he's gonna go all the way and give it the feel.

its all good. My problem with cars is, one car finished, on to the next. i guess i would be considered a collector more so than a modifyier. without some schooling i will never be able to do a swap myself. so i willingly will pay. just need to keep a job. construction industry is so up and so down. as far as the cars go, i want to race them. Legally. That's what gets me going. I love speed and turns. I will be taking a driving course next spring. To handle the new prospected HP increase. hopefully win some races and maybe survive to see retirement. Later D

Actually,I got scheduled in to work all day. I am going to try and get out of it though, for at least a few hours-I won't know till tomorrow.
And the catfish place won't be open unfortunately-more than likely won't be able to hang around long anyway.
If nothing else though the car can be picked up,just won't be able to have lunch or anything with you guys. I'll know for sure tomorrow-but you guy's come on regardless and you can grab the car.

Mine still has the factory original 327 4bbl Quadrajet. It does have a 327/350 hp factory cam and is attached to a beefed up Grand National 200 R4 with a shift kit. It runs pretty good, and gets much better mileage than with the original Powerglide.

the sbc gmpp zz430 stroker was tore down completely and reassembled with every nut and bolt... arp black oxide hex, mains, rods, heads, intake, flywheel, every single one. used copper head gaskets so i can spray it. copper exhaust gaskets, stainless steel 409 headers until my 180 headers are finished. zz430 intake and 600cfm holley. the zz430 comes as a 350 but i added a gmpp forged 383 crank to it when i reassembled it. supposedly will make a conservative 450hp at the flywheel. then a 150hp shot of nos will put me in the 600hp range.
i tore apart my fiero getrag, had everything cryo treated including the case. installed a new hd quad 4 carrier and spider gears, new ep lsd, and made my own case brace, all new bearings, seals, gaskets and all.
i will be trying a heavy duty sachs pressure plate and a new kevlar clutch disc.
all i can say is...........AWESOME!!!!!!

I would definitely get in too much trouble with that motor. My 327 has no problem smoking my back tires as it is..........

Oi. your front bumper mounts look like mine.....jolly good.
in your opinion, do you feel that the holes make it adjustable?? like "Uni-Strut" is it a "telescopic" connection? i feel there may have to be some cutting down of them, maybe? but seems logical from my point of view. laying under Mera X on the concrete garage floor burr...
how boot some close ups of both the front and back one. please. and anywhere else you have acess that i do not have all buttoned up.....please. i need to see the inside GUTS of your OEM panels.
speaking of which....what you gonna do with the broken pieces?? just wondering....
i am on the Hunt!!
Daniel

hey rick, i was told the interior is custom from an upholstery shop. they did the entire interior. something stupid like 3800.00. yes i will keep the interior just as you see it in the pics with the exception now it has a 308 style dash.
