Can you do the hood on my car like yours? Plus, I have some side skirts that need to be put on, but they need to be fitted properly and fabbed up a little.

I could help you with the cuts. Thats the easy part once you get it marked off. It is taking me forever to do the finishing on these. I am terrible at body work. Do you know anyone with glassing or bodywork skills? I could use help on that part.

Oh no. I really want to buy the GT that's down the road, never been moved, winking at me with a frown on its face, so I can overhaul it. This is a very inspirational thread.
Maybe I'll leave a note in their mailbox and inquire about it...

Intrax springs will lower the car more than the Eibach's. But I am unsure if you can get them anymore. I got mine from The Fiero Store
Don't think you can get Intrax any more, and I think ST also stopped making the Fiero springs. But if the ST springs are still available anywhere, they are about 1.6-1.8" drop all around. I have them on my 87 GT.

I bought a passenger side drip rail from Paul V today. Haven't picked it up yet but a nice fella from Ottawa not far from me brought it back with him from Lisle (NIFE meeting) to save me the shipping. Turns out after chatting with this fella for a little bit there are more Fieros around here than I thought. He named off at least 5 within 20 miles of me besides the 2 that already knew of. Small world. I did find out that he is not a member on here but does check in here once in a while if he is looking for parts. Its pretty cool to get to chat with fellow fanatics!
Edit for fat finger spelling!

I finally got to order a new trunk seal this past weekend from Will and today I ordered a set of mirror covers and a trunk cover from Russ both in the carbon fiber material. Really only two things I still want to buy and thats the armrest cupholder TXGOOD makes and a set of dew wipes from Diy-Stu. Guess I'll be sticking with the 2.8 for this year but next year hopefully I'll be looking for a different drivetrain. Leaning towards the ever dependable 3800. I think I would be happy if it were just the NA motor and not the SC. I would love to have that V8 grumble though and it seems like the 4.9 is probably the easiest swap for that. On another note I have stalled on my hood venting. My vision is there but my ability to do the body work is just not there. I suppose I am going to have to find someone to finish it for me. All the glassing is done but the final body work part is just beyond my ability. Every time I start to work on it I get so frustrated with it I just have to quit LOL. I suppose I should just be pleased that that is the only thing that has whipped me on this car so far! I am going to give it another try tomorrow my my expectations are not very high that I will be able to finish it. Wish I knew someone close that could help me with this part.

Made a good score today at the salvage yard! $20 for both!! Both came from a late model cadillac.
Self dimming mirror with compass and I am pretty sure the little box to the side is for temperature (at least I hope so anyway).
Also pulled a homlink module.
Looked at almost every car in the place hoping to find a mirror that had the homelink buttons on it but no luck so I settled for these. Still thought it was a pretty good price for both.

Well I figured out the little box is not for temperature. Thats ok I guess still got self dimming and compass. Hooked it up to a battery tonight to make sure it was working ok. All is good. Think I will buy another console plate though before I attempt to cut into mine for the homelink module. I know chicken right LOL!
Got a couple of Russ88ttop parts today. The fit and finish on these are terrific. Highly recommend to everyone. All I need now is the trunk seal from Will and this will all look great. I have one ordered. Guess parts are still tied up in customs.

Started installing my homelink module today. Put it in a spot I don't think anyone had done yet. Will post a few pics when I get it all complete. Looks really good so far though.

I found some Intrax lowering springs on an 85 GT in a pick-n-pull yard over the winter. Had them remove them for me. Cost me $130.00 total. Hope they will lower mine where I want them too.

Finally got my homelink and mirror installed and all hooked up. I think they came out really great and I haven't seen anyone put the homelink where I put mine. I did sacrifice my map lights by doing it this way and the slider for the sub but truthfully a wasn't worried about that part anyway. I moved my dome lights to the outside light modules so now they shine towards the seats better anyway. I didn't want the homelink in the center console like skitime did because I want to order one of TXGOODS cupholder armrest pads. I have been delaying this order until I was sure I could put the module in the upper light console. Who knows maybe I can find a good use for the old dome light buttons now! LOL Anyways here are a couple of pics.

Did a little more work on the hood last night. Shot it with some black primer so I could see how bad the body work is LOL! Its not terrible but still not ready for paint yet. Still more sanding and mudding and sanding and mudding. Does it ever really end at some point. God I hate doing body work! I need a body and fender man for a friend I can see that now for sure. I just hope all my fellow forum members aren't laughing at my poor body skills!
Thanks Danyel. I think its coming along nicely. I love doing the little things that bring it a little more up to date. I still have a few more ideas in my head that I have not seen on the forum yet.

I think I made some good progress on the hood today. I got a few hours in on it. Looks pretty good but I still have a few blemishes to take care of. I'm dying to throw it on the car to see how it looks! LOL Only thing I would like is if there was a slight lip in front of each scoop that curves around the corners and tapers off about halfway towards the back. Kind of like The Drivers angel designs on all his parts. I just don't have a clue how thats done so I am thinking this is going to have to be it! I still have a bit of work on the rounded parts between the upper and lower parts of the scoops.
Lookin good! I'm deffinitly no expert at body work either but I imagine if you wanted to add the "lips" like The angel vent you could bring it down to the raw material and just build up the lines around the scoop with SMC filler (assuming there not huge) and just shape them all by hand.
What's the underside looking like at this point?
Blake
edit: will we get to see your car at the dells show?

The underside still needs some finishing but, I won't be near as particular as I am being with the top. I am hoping to make it to a few shows this year but I haven't made any plans as of yet.

Got a PM from TXGOOD. My armrest/cupholder is done. Can't wait for it to get here. Heres the pic he sent me of it. I ordered the material from fierothomas and had it shipped to Mike so it matched my shifter boot. Stitching is really the light grey but the camera gave it a pinkish look. I really love the look and from what I understand from everyone elses posts you can't beat the quality. I will update with an installed photo once it arrives.
EDIT: Forgot to mention I ordered a universal power lock kit with keyfobs last night as well. My car didn't come with power locks so I am going to try this kit. I needed to take my doors apart anyway to grease up all the window tracks and the locking mechanisms anyway. Switches are going to be the surprize part of this little modification!

So I couldn't wait to see how the hood was going to look so I pulled the old hood and sat this one in place just to get an idea of how it was going to look. I am really likeing how it looks. I think it will look even better once its in paint.
I almost screwed up and got my cuts too close to the fan but it did just clear by about 1/4 to 3/8! LOL This is one of the reasons I wanted to go ahead and check the fit before I did any more finishing work. I would have been ticked if I got it all the way done and realized I had to cut it a bit.

Got my TXGOOD cupholder/armrest today. I have to say this is a really nice piece. Very sturdy and well made nothing at all cheap about this product. The stitching is perfect and matches my interior better than I imagined. Looks fantastic in the car and has just the right amount of cushion under the arm. Mike was great to work with and I have to thank fierothomas for supplying the material so it matched my shifter boot. Mike even sent back the extra material that was left over. More to come hopefully this weekend. I have a few goodies expected in the mail over the next couple of days.

Just a quick update. I ordered a set of universal power door locks with key fob and started fitting them in tonight. So far so good. Stupid camera was dead so I haven't gotten any pics yet of the install but since I am out of electrical terminals I will grab some batteries in the morning when I grab terminals. I already hooked one up just to see how it would work and after lubing the crap out of the rod pivots I got it working pretty smooth. They locks were rather hard to move by hand before I started so I knew they were going to need some work lol. This kit was fairly cheap cost wise but everything seems like it is quality stuff so far. This one comes with alarm functions that I still have to figure out how the wiring goes but I was more interested in the power locks and key fob than anything. Whole kit was only like $64 shipped I think. I did have to buy switches though because they didn't come with the kit. I think the pair of lighted switches cost me $14 or so. Since I already got my door bezels done by tvhydrodip I didn't want to mess those up with factory lock switches so I have a surprize spot for them.

Another update. Well the wiring for this kit is a nightmare LOL! But on a brighter note I did get my switches mounted today. The weekend didn't go as planned for Fiero work. Installed shocks on my sons car Saturday and then this morning as I was getting ready to hit the garage for the day he called me and said a belt smoked on his car on his way to work. I went over and found the alternator about locked up. Noone in town had an alterantor so I tore it apart and repalced the front bearing that had went bad and got him back on the road. Pretty much blew the day though. I may have to get me an electrical engineer to figure out the wiring on the rest of this stuff. I know the locks work but I am having problems gettign the rest of the stuff wired in which is what works the key fob.

Got switches all wired tonight. God it was humid here today. Quite the change from the last couple of weeks. Still have to pull new wires to the doors for the actuators. Hoping to get that done in the next couple of days. I have abandoned the alarm and keyfob parts for now until I can figure out the wiring a bit better. Right now I still have to tear into the passenger door and get everything lubed up like I did the drivers side. I still have to lube up the window tracks while I have them apart too. Any suggestions on what to use on the windows. I used spray lithium grease on all the lock stuff and planned on using it for all the window pivot points as well. Anything else I should be using?? Sorry I still forgot the batteries for the camera so I could get some pics and my phone camera stinks! LOL

Since I had gotten my door bezels done previously I didn't want to mess them up.
So I came up with this location for a set of lighted door lock switches. I had already removed my premium sound slider for the homelink module and I relocated the dome lights to the map light location. This left me with two buttons that didn't do anything so I modified the overhead console to accept these rocker switches. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I just wish the switches would have lit up in red instead of green. Let me know what you think. The locks work flawlessly too I suppose thats the best part LOL!

Went and picked up a series 1 motor today. Came with trans (which I wont use) ECM and engine harness complete. All components still on engine. Only thing missing is a sensor and the coil packs. Going to throw it on the engine stand tomorrow. Anyone need an auto trans because this one will be in the mall soon. Guy stored it right. He plugged every opening on the thing before he tarped it and banded to a pallet. I really wanted a series 2 motor but the price on this one was so good I couldn't pass it up! I'll try to get a couple of pics tomorrow.
