Although the view might be better and the food not bad at Hooters, but the food at BJ's is quite good and within walking distance
Plus they have some excellent house beers
This place is very very good. I went to one at Orlando for first time last November and came out very pleased. 10 times better than a any Hooters unless all you want is to eat with your eyes

Has anyone else had a problem making reservations at the hotel? I just called then and was told that there was no SCF code listed in their records and that they could not honor the rate without a valid code.
You need to call directly for in house reservations and not the corporate reservation center. Then make sure the in house reervation clerk checks for the correct code.

SO I WILL NOT BE DOING A FRIDAY MORNING BREAKFAST THIS YEAR.
Just like other PFFers, money is tight this year so I will be spending two days instead of three at Daytona this year.
You can still go to breakfast on your own and it is well worth the trip and not just for the food. The location is not that far from the hotel so have at it.
You need to ask for Sales when you call the hotel. Based on my experience, they are only open during regular business hours and potentially only M-F 8:00 am to 4:00 PM.

Just made my resv for the hotel and as stated above make sure you ask for the in-house resv. The first time I called I asked for their resv department and I was transferred to the regional office and they were lost as to the SCF code.
^ One of my favorite pics of... uh... my car... yeah, that's the ticket.
I can vouch for BJ's restaurant, as I went to the one in Sugar Land TX several times before I moved. I don't know why someone said it's better than Hooters, but that depends on if you mean the food or the scenery. The BJ's I went to was a loud place (aren't they all these days - what's up with that), and all the TV's (that you can't hear) were distracting, but everything I've tried on the menu was excellent. And the seating was spacious.
