The car still isnt finished yet. I am cruising right along though. Trying to get the mechanicals done this week so it is running and drivable. The body is mostly done though as well. I think I can have it completely done before Daytona, Im saving the rest of the cut and buffing for last so at least if thats not done the car can still make it there.
Major mechanicals left to finish: install new gas tank, sounds easy but a friend of mine is making a tank out of aluminum using rough dimensions from the stock tank. However the tank will have sharp corners instead of the rounded ones and will lack provisions for the straps, I should be able just to extend my straps for the extra length. Hoping the fitment will be correct the first time I try to install it (what are the chances of that?)
Finish polishing the blower, reassemble and reinstall on the motor.
LF brake is still stock, though it really only takes a few minutes to install the new Lebaron brakes. I also need to bleed all 4 corners.
Finish riveting my T-top frame and get the interior back together. I have some of the rivets in but I want to get the car back on the ground and the interior back together to make the rest of the riveting easier.
Thats most of it. I have the engine in place, made new mounts for it the other day, exhaust is reinstalled, fuel lines and coolant hoses are all done. Once the tank is in it should be pretty easy to get it started for the first time. It started right up last year when I first installed the 3800 so Im hoping it does the same.
Theres more done to the car as it sits right now, this picture is over a week old.

Got my Fiero back from Sinister Performance with a new exhaust (I love it), transmission rebuild (wow what a change) and some other things done to help finish off the car. I took it over today and got some new rear tires installed (Cooper Zeon 2XS 245/45/18), had an oil change done. Tomorrow I am going to get my alignment done so it doesn't want to jump from side to side when I go over humps in the road.
Maybe by next year I will have a paint job done so it looks better. I have the dreaded GM 80's paint fade right now, but what the heck it drives nice.
Still thinking about adding a Turbo to the mix and getting rid of the Gen V blower, but that might have to wait a while because it is pretty pricey.
Looking forward to meeting a lot of the other Fiero people.

My wife is making the reservations at the camp grounds tomorrow. Not sure what time we will make it there though. If you see a red head couple walking around drooling over your car it's probably us lol
I will not be attending the Daytona Show this year.
Daytona seems to always conflict with the St. Petersburg Grand Prix, which is the season opener every year for Indy Car. This race is sort of our "home town race event" for Team e Racing, ( www.teameracing.com ), and for the past 3 years I've chosen to be at Daytona with my Fiero friends rather than at St. Pete with the family race team operation.
This year it's time to be with family and friends at St. Pete.
I hope you all have great time at Daytona. I sure wish I could be in 2 places at once.....

Wow, first JimmyS and now Randy. The wife is really not happy that our friends will not be attending Daytona this year. We have had such fun hanging out with you guys the last couple years, the event just wont be the same without you. I suppose its time to make new friends to hang out with for dinner. I know Infinitewill probably wont be there either but maybe we can still grab a bite with Dean and company. We like the smaller groups of friends because its easier to talk to each other than in the larger organized group dining. We wont make it for the lunch but if a few want to grab dinner Friday and Saturday nights we will be looking for some company.
