They mention the trailer but not the fact of a car getting rebuilt within a month to be able to MAKE THE DRIVE UP FROM TEXAS? I'll have to have a chat with the editor! Forgot to mention NO SHADE and 102.3°F outside!

I wonder how the news paper found out about the trailer....Hmmmm

Well, it is official, I just booked my flight! I will get into St. Paul at 11:45 pm on Wed Night. So I will get a good nights sleep, and head to Frazee on Thursday morning. Is anyone else driving from St. Paul area on Thursday to Frazee that wants to caravan, let me know! Or if someone needs a ride, due to space limitations in someone else's Fiero, hit me up. I would enjoy the company, as I really hate long car rides. I will be coming back and getting into St. Paul area around 2:00 pm on Monday.

I did mention the trailer to Mike... actually first he asked who was traveling the farthest. hate when I get put on the spot like that. All I could think of was Stu, John, and Danyel so I went with those locations. then I stressed to him I wanted him to mention that ALL cars and motorcycles were welcome.. not just Fieros. I then said... hey there is even going to be a camper in the show ah well... Stu we know you been working hard he also got it a little mixed up with the V8 thing.. Jay and Tyler never talked about putting a V8 in Tyler's car.. just that they though it would be FUN to have a Fiero with a V8 - hence Jay's new plaything.

Oh No big just a little ribbing. Going on day 4 of this suspension rebuild mainly due to parts, tools, Heat and rain. Get to work all day on the 4th on it instead of festivities to get it almost done. Then wait for Rodney Dickman's rear tie rods.

I live of off of U.S. Hwy 10 about 1.5 hours from Frazee. I hope to be attending just the day of the car show (depends on how I feel as I'm receiving chemo). If anyone wants’ to meet me in the Little Falls, MN area we could follow each other. Also if anyone has other needs in this area just P.M. me and ask. I missed the 1st annual car show as I was having surgery for my cancer, & I missed the Tyler car build as I was coaching at that time. I really do want to make this show & meet some of the folks on this form as well as the Shipman family.

I'm actually headed out to LaPorte, Chicago and Madison a week or so before to visit family. So as much as I would like to convoy from Cleveland, my visiting stops on the way out are going to prevent that. However, I'll be heading to the St. Paul, MN area on Thursday the 28 to hopefully meet up with others on Friday. KEV said that he and the other members of Minnesota club were going to organize a caravan from somewhere in the Twin Cities area to Frazee to leave Friday morning. They haven't posted a time or a meet place yet. So I hope a lot of us will be able to hook up some place around St. Paul/Minneapolis and drive to Frazee. They had a police escort last year! Anyway, at worst, I'll see you at Camp Shipman. First round is on me and we can trade horror stories about Interstate 90 and getting around Chicago. Which reminds me.....get an EasyPass or what ever they call it in Ohio. You know, so you don't have to stop to pay tolls. The thing works on all the toll roads you'll be on to Minnesota and it will save you, at least, an hour if not more, on your way around Chicago.

Ok, I understand, that's fine. I do have an EZ-pass already for the trip, though I should have more phone numbers incase I happen to break down on the way. It's going to be a pretty nerve wracking trip for me since I'm so paranoid (just ask Andy. ), but to Frazee or bust!

I'm going to start estimating my trip... My first drive I logged about 2.5 hrs extra due to doing everything to get a vac leak fixed and water in fuel from Oklahoma. So once again this is an estimation.

Wed Jul. 27 Work.
8pm depart. Cleburne TX Take I-35 NORTHBOUND
10:00 - 10:30pm Ardmore, OK (Have a soft spot for this place....)
11:50 - 12:20 Oklahoma City
2:30 -3:30 Wichita KS
4:30 - 6am Topeka KS This will be where we plan on stopping for a little food, check out the car and maybe wait on others. I plan to be hitting the road by 6am NO EXCEPTIONS! Highway 75 North to I-29

To be continued.

If you want someone to caravan with or a place to crash for the night let me know. I dont know when we are planning on leaving for Frazee or the route we are taking. However if you are flying solo I think we can follow you up.

Hi Stumpkin.
ALot of us will probably be Caravaning thru Little Falls Friday from the Twin CIties, I think thats how we went last year. If you couldn't join in the caravan of Fieros then could you make it to Frazee Saturday morning for the show? Would you drive your own car? With the number of cars coming there may be someone coming up Saturday the day of on hwy 10 that could join you.

Hello fello Fiero nuts,

Brandon here, 88 Formula with the lower ball joint failure last year. I havn't been on the Forum for some time. Glad to see there is plenty of buzz surrounding the Shipman event this year! I will not be at the event this year, just a bit further north in Thief River Falls. On the way home Sunday, I will swing though townn and see what is going on. Maybe bump into some familier faces.

Thanks for the offer Chris! I plan on coming back on Monday though, and taking my time. AKA Not having to stop midway because we were so tired we were falling asleep at the wheel, like last year haha! My flight is not till 5PM or so Monday evening.

Anyone else going to be around the MN/St. Paul area on Thursday morning headed to Frazee?

So far the plan is as follows

Leaving on Thursday evening out of Palm Beach International at 7:45 PM
From 8:00 PM ~ 11:00 PM having a glass of wine, watching a movie, reading a book, taking a nap..... ect... (Finger crossed that First Class is not full so I can get bumped into it )
12:30am pick up the rental car at MN Airport and then drive to a hotel
Around 7-10 am, leaving the hotel for Frazee.

50 felt like 500! i am a little concerned that we don't have any real "official" advertising. seriously considering that some of the profits should be held over for advertising budget next year. would be interested in what the dells run does to promote their event... anybody know? what is effective? radio? news print?

Dells run is Fiero Specific. 90% of their advertising is simply on the forum or word of mouth.

Since the Tyler show covers all makes/models, the advertising route with local radio, etc is the best method, but you run into legal issues if you don't specify that a percentage of the profits go toward advertising, etc.

The show will get bigger. The second year is what makes or breaks a new annual show. The first year may be fantastic, but if participation drops a lot on the second year, the show rarely makes it further than 3-4 years... Don't stress... This is a worthy cause and a great show. We'll have a great turnout.

Just had an idea....

Car Show and SWAP MEET?
What's Minnesota's Rules on something like that.
Cause I'm about to open a thread for needed parts of those who are going. I have a couple I need and others may have them.... And vise versa.

There are no rules in that area of MN. The only rule is that if you are going to shoot your wife, you have to do it in front of 4 townspeople.
