yes, it`s a casting of some type of composite, sorry, don`t recall exactly...
edit to add: these types of composites some times are reinforced with resins or metals like aluminum they are a mix of diferent materials depending the needs, like KEVLAR, CORRIAN etc.

Anyone tried a "Magnet" on these doors? That would rule out common steel.

Just went to see mine , i tought too that they were metal but they are plastic 88GT . Altough mine are half metal and half plastic cause i glued a piece of stainless steel on them . LOL .
