This topic has come up here several times before. I like the look and plan to convert my spare "wingless" deck lid over one of these days. There's a beautiful '88 GT one eBay right now:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymot...tZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks

claiming to be an original GT with luggage rack.

What caught my eye was this setup uses four spears instead of five like all the others I've seen. They also look wider than the notchback version and the wing doesn't blend in as nicely.

This one looks the same as the notchback used. Did the design vary over the years?

That does not appear to be a factory Fiero luggage rack on the maroon Fiero. Perhaps it was added at the dealership when it was new. Nice car but I would perfer it wingless or with the stock spoiler. Luggage racks look best on bumperpad notchies to me.

I agree; the fact it doesn't show on the sticker suggests someone added it. Could be the dealer, who knows.

Sweet car though!

If you look a few pics down on that ad you will see the dealership reciept for the dealer added luggage rack. It did not come from the factory with that option.

Although both my GTs have a rear spoiler, an extra cost item, the luggage rack would come in handy when you want to carry more stuff that whay would fit into the trunk. I can remember trying to load up the Fiero for road trips with my brother and using all of the trunk, then using all the room in back of the passenger seat for more luggage. Fortunately, my brother is 5'6" so that seat could move forward. With careful packing I could get his luggage bag back there plus lots of other stuff.
